I went into US bank grumbling about a terrible abrupt experience with another bank and was overtly frustrated and sensitive. To my surprise, US helped me out very well. Guided me and kept personal contact to open a tough complex regulatory account. The building has an nice airy open atmosphere that's very inviting not claustrophobic when you sit down at the desk to open an account. The banker was perfect, spot-on normal, accommodating, and a pleasure personally. Many other banks had no clue about this account and literally tortured me about it. This was my first experience seeking assistance here, and unfortunately, it confirmed my expectations from the reviews I read prior rather than changing them. I came in hoping for help with a specific issue. Initially, Sonia was attentive and seemed willing to assist. However, once I explained my situation, her only solution was to hand me a phone number to call. After spending time on that call and receiving absolutely no help, I returned to the branch expecting additional guidance or at least an attempt to explore other options. Instead, rather than investigating further or offering alternative solutions, Sonia immediately shifted the conversation toward selling me a line of credit. At that point, it felt less like customer service and more like a sales pitch. When she involved the manager, I hoped the situation would improve. Unfortunately, it did not. The manager appeared uninterested in resolving the issue and simply suggested that Sonia continue assisting me, despite the fact that no actual assistance was being provided. Roxanne was particularly disappointing. She came across as dismissive, indifferent, and unwilling to help. Customer service requires listening, problem-solving, and showing at least a basic level of empathy. Throughout my interaction, I experienced none of those qualities. I understand that not every problem has an immediate solution, but customers deserve effort, professionalism, and genuine assistance, not sales pitches and dismissal. This being my first experiences, it's difficult to have confidence in the level of service provided at this branch. read more

What is this building? A huge (and I mean huge) ocean blvd store front with about 4 people in it. You always have to wait an extremely long time to complete a transaction. It's no longer Union Bank. I understand when business get bought out and there is a learning cure. My accounts couldn't be accessed during my first week. Or curious it happened during payroll and I could not pay my employees because I didn't have any official letters or checks referencing my new bank account or routing number. I had three accounts and non worked with my Square Credit Card reader, or Zelle. I was locked out of accepting payment from my customers. The manager said she would replace my checks. So I went in and she walked back her promise. I waited two weeks for us bank to get back to me with regard to my safe deposit box. The same manager Breanne said she would call me back for an update. Never did. It took over two hours to close my accounts. Will never do business with US bank again. Poor service with a manager who does have integrity, who says one thing and does the other. I will miss the other employees who I have loved for years. This new manage Breanne is all excuses and apologies and never attempted to make things right or to honor her word. read more

On March 11, 2014, I entered this branch to question why U.S. Bank would take 5 to 10 business days to release my account to me. I was interrogated by a VERY large man...I suppose he was upset that I didn't bring him a emergency hamburger. Anyway, he had asked me, 'Are you sure you didn't make all these purchases for gas?' I answered, "Where the hell am I going to put over $900 of gas?? In my one bedroom apartment???' After having the same run around with Mr. Fatso, I left....still no money. After trying to contact US Bankcorp CEO Richard K. Davis and Vice President Jennie P. Carlson for comment via telephone, I was stopped by their Gestapo CSR Police and was told that my account will be held indefinitely....'Oh, really...Indefinitely?' I asked. Then, this bint told me that THEY are in control of my money. If I could give this branch a 0 I would. The manager here is terrible the staff unhelpful. The nicest person here is the security guard. It's like COVID made people forget what good customer service is supposed to look like. They couldn't provide us with a simple letter, told us to contact fraud when fraud told us to go into any branch. They said they weren't my home branch then told me they couldn't tell me my home branch. I'd rather go to hell then deal with these humans. They wanted to go home and not help us. Yeah it was 4:15pm but they are open until 5pm and should help us until 5pm. All they had to do is print a letter on their letter head and the fat ass manager couldn't get up and do it. We have our personal checking accounts, our reserve line, our credit accounts and our business accounts --- I'm telling you--- My husband and I do a lot of banking, and this branch is HANDS DOWN the best that you will ever find. The bankers were very inconsiderate of people waiting for themZ. There were four people waiting for them and spent almost an hour with their client. I gave a star because one banker was genuinely forgiving and happy to assist.The other guy was having the the longest chit-chat with his client and when they finished he "decided to give his client a tour" not really, but he might as well should have. He never apologized or approached us, so we just approached him. Come on, can they be any more unprofessional? The racist Asian woman completely ignored the other two people waiting and focused only, or focused more, on the Caucasian guy. The security was equally rude and inconsiderate. This US bank has been amazing. I love how convenient it is and how most of the staff is super helpful. I am giving in a 3/5 because there is one teller there, Hany I think his name is, who makes me feel super uncomfortable every time I bring money go be deposited. I work in a restaurant so I often have a ridiculous amount of one dollar bills. The past two times he asks me where I'm getting all of my ones. I feel like he is insinuating that I work as a stripper. I tell him each time I work at a restaurant. I'm literally in uniform. He asked me today "how's your job" and "you must work at night". Again, I'm in uniform on my way to work and it is 9:15 am. He may just be trying to be friendly, but I don't think it is any tellers business how I get my money. Rude horrible customer service! After coming in to this location with my mom I was greeted by a clerk, I explained to the clerk that my mom just received a settlement check and she was wishing to cash it as it was a U.S Bank check. I explained to the young lady that my mother did not have an account with U.S Bank, she explained to us that it was ok as long as my mom had a valid current form of government identification (which she did, she has a CA I.d card) We gave her the check and she saw the amount, she informed us that she needed to get her manager because the amount exceeded her limit. Here's where the problem starts, her manager came over to us and informed us that there would be a $7 check cashing fee, we agreed. She then asked if my mom had secondary i.d because of the amount. My moms only other form of I.d was a recently expired u.s government permanent alien resident card ( new one is coming in the mail) the manger then explained that she couldn't accept it because is was expired but would accept a AAA card from my mom as a form of I.D. Really a AAA card over a recently expired government document? Plus a valid CA I.D? She then become really rude as I asked why the CA I.d wasn't good enough, she then replied that they didn't have to cash it and that she was trying to protect the branch and my mom, from what fraud? so I decided to try another branch which I did. I went to the branch in Lomita and the branch manager there explained to me that the special settlement check has a unique number to it that can be verified through corporate and that it was illegal to charge the $7 check cashing fee for the settlement check, he also informed us that the state I.d was plenty of identification needed to cash the check the only thing my mom needed to do was supply a thumb print which she did. Somebody should explain to Tori the proper guidelines to this process, I know she was just trying to do her job but I feel that she could have tried more to help us, like they did at the Lomita branch. Horrible customer service is their motto!!! Each time I've been here, it takes a year and a half to be helped. No one acknowledges your presence although you're standing right in their faces. They'll congregate behind one teller and converse, blatantly ignoring customers. The service at the branch inside of the Albertsons on Long Beach Blvd. was far superior; too bad they shut down.
