I had a frustrating experience when a banker, Laura, deposited my money into someone else's account instead of my own. This is a serious mistake, and it's concerning that an error like this could happen at a bank where accuracy is so important. Because of the mistake, I had to interrupt what I was doing at home and come back into the branch to get it resolved. Fortunately, the branch manager, Edgar, was very helpful, took the issue seriously, and worked quickly to figure out what happened and correct it. I appreciate his professionalism and assistance. While I'm grateful the issue was ultimately resolved, mistakes involving customer deposits should not happen in the first place. Had an appointment scheduled for it to be a better experience but that was a fail, went in and had all docs needed what we were planning to do did take some time but they seemed to not wanna do the process. They had many staff also, the banker who was helping us was nice and polite great energy just seemed like she wasn't getting the help or guidance needed from manager, came back just to tell us to reschedule the manager didn't even come to give us other options etc, point clear did not want to go through the process. I really enjoy coming to this location -- there's little to no wait time. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the security guard, and before I even had a chance to sit down, Lacy, a personal banker, assisted me right away. The supervisor, Edgar, was also very friendly and professional. On my previous visit, Celine helped me, and she was just as excellent. I opened up an account here after moving to California since it's within walking distance and the experience has been fine. Recently, I came here to order pesos and the process was ok. It took two days for the pesos to arrive and I don't think the exchange rate is all that great. You might in fact get a better exchange rate after coming to Mexico, but it wasn't the worst. (I felt like the bank got like an $8 cut on $200... which comes out to be about 5%). The account I have works well and I've never had to wait too long to get help. Overall, I'm a fan of the Wells Fargo here, but be aware - they do not have a notary. You'll have to go the Belmont Shore location if you need a notary. read more

The worst bank branch in all the history of bank branches because there's no street parking in two blocks of it ... must use a paid public parking lot with easy access entrance closed on saturdays!!! Can't wait to change my acct to Farmers & Merchants!!! Back again today and I had to drive around in circles because of street construction before being able to park and then I waited in line for over half and hour just to get a roll of quarters! No grocery stores in Long Beach will sell you their rolls so I was forced to go through an hour ordeal just to get the quarters at my bank... I swear! The WORST BRANCH in banking history I know there is underground free parking but it adds an extra 15 to 30 minutes of time to running your errands in order to use it! It's very inconvenient when you just want to grab a quick $20 or get a roll of qyarter If you love this branch, bully for you! This branch has terrible parking! They use to have a head teller by the name of Miguel and his customer service skills were excellent! Since he has left I would have greater joy attending a birthday party at a high security penitentiary versus going to this branch. The head manager can be heard yelling at the employees and on one Saturday morning while I was there attempting to do some business it sounded like she was facilitating water boarding with the employees. I wanted to like you - really I did. The line was out to the door. I was told that is due to it being the 1st of the month. I simply wanted a little info about opening an account with a bank that I can walk to on a good day. I was greeted by one of the higher up employees and explain the purpose of my visit. My in branch experience was good until I asked the man in the suit at the door what the best case scenario for parking is and he came back with a cocky defensive tone telling me that there is none it's a busy branch and that I just have to look for it. When I first opened my checking account at Wells Fargo Bank, I was told there would be no monthly fees or service charges, and was guaranteed my account would be absolutely free. The personal banker convinced me to open a business account to handle my apartment rental affairs, and went on to explain the benefits of having an account there. Everything seemed fine at first, until I noticed every month $75.00 was automatically being deducted from my checking account and going into my savings account. Then there was something called "Save As You Go" transfer credits, which were being applied to an overdraft protection account, when a transaction was made. Unfortunately, these transfer credits varied in amounts, so I never knew how much the bank would be applying to that account. Needless to say, this created confusion when I tried balancing my checkbook. Sometime later, I noticed "Service Fee" debits on both my checking and savings accounts. These fees ranged from $10.00 - $15.00 each month, which I was told I could avoid by using my debit card at least10 times a month. I wasn't crazy about doing this, but I made an attempt at it to avoid this fee. When I started looking closer at past statements, I found another debit called an "Excess Activity Fee" which had been applied to my Savings and Overdraft Protection accounts. What I thought was a free checking and saving account, was now inundated with various fee's, which I was never made aware of. Shame on you Wells Fargo for trying to trick us. I now believe the reason you do this is because you hope one of my checks will bounce, then you will charge me an NSF fee, which I hear keeps going up. read more

Oh Wells Fargo, how you've redeemed my faith in banks. Well, for now. We've still got a major recession to contend with. Anyway... I called and spoke with Jacqueline a day prior, asking questions and telling her that I'd be leaving the wretched WAMU as a result of their lack of service. She was polite, attentive and answered all of my questions. After asking peers who their banking business establishments were, I decided to go with Wells Fargo, and in I walked to this branch. Immediately upon entering the lobby from the parking down below I was in awe at how spacious and nice it was. Oooo... so pretty. Me get caught by shiny marble and reflective silver elevator doors. Yeah, I know that the building doth not the bank make, but it was a far more welcoming space to enter than WAMU just blocks down the way. When I walked into the branch I was promptly and happily greeted by a gentleman who asked how I was, asked how he could help, quickly sat me at Jacqueline's desk and offered me water. As Jacqueline was away at lunch, he continuously checked in with me, apologized for the delay and was just all around emphatic that I be OK as I patiently waited. Another ...- associate? banker? I don't know - even checked in on me while I waited. Then! I met her! Jacqueline, the girl who would become my new best friend for the next hour and would forever be known as MY "personal banker." Really? Me? I get a personal banker? Spectacular. What places do this? Got a deposit? No worries... skip the line and go right to her. She'll take care of me anytime. She asked me questions, set up my account, we spoke of college and traveling and the things you need to do with your life while you're still young. We bonded. It was great. She validated me - well, for parking at least. She was cool. And, there you have it. I am a customer at a new banking establishment, and while the gentleman greeter said that they haven't always functioned this way, that it's new for the new year, I am happy to have made the transition. I really do enjoy banking with Wells Fargo and that's the reason why I'm at least making an effort to give three stars. The staff is really friendly and they provide great service, but this location is generally awful to get to, and even worse to leave. The parking structure is a madhouse and never has available space and for the most part it is impossible to just pull up and use the ATM without spending 10 minutes trying to find a space. read more

A year later I am continued to be increasingly impressed with the customer service at this location. For a while I had to stop in pretty regularly and only once had any negative experience. The teller who often wears scarfs is my favorite, but all the tellers are very friendly and I actually enjoy going to the bank, it's such a pleasant experience in there, almost to it kinda being odd I actually am now a little sad I no longer have a purpose to stop in so frequently. Whoever is managing this location is doing a very good job, because that person is very good at hiring good people and/or developing them into awesome customer service reps.
