I would give Vacasa 0 stars if I could... We rented a small house on the coast of Oregon and paid (with fees) about 500 dollars a night. When we got there the home was filthy and the plumbing was in disrepair. We let a Vacasa agent know about it right away and we were given a vague promise that they would make it up to us next time we rented.(?) I've been trying to get a supervisor to address our concerns for 2 weeks and absolutely nothing has been done. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! Me and three girlfriends were very excited to stay at this property. To say the least, we were EXTREMELY disappointed and irritated. The home had been cleaned LAZILY. I understand that cleaning is a difficult job. However, I am a professional house cleaner and we are still in a PANDEMIC. Simple things were NOT done. The sheets were covered in dog and human hair, feminine products stuck in the closets, the microwave was not cleaned, each doorframe and any high flat surface had not been dusted in months and the is PLENTY more. It genuinely felt gross and uncomfortable. Whoever did the inspection after the clean did an awful job. I have sent photos of unsanitary conditions of this property. We had to cancel plans so we could wash the sheets and clean the home ourselves so we could feel sanitary. I have reached out multiple times. I have spoken to multiple staff and was told I would get a call from the local manager. I have not received a call. We needed your help to solve our situation. I was given two options; a refund for the $130 cleaning fee or a full refund if we left the premises. We were in the middle of a SNOW STORM and could NOT get our cars out of the driveway and no one offered to come help. I'm am unbelievably upset. read more

This actually has to do with their entire corporate structure, not one area. If I could give them no stars I would. I booked a house in 2020 and had to cancel due to COVID. They gave me a credit for the full amount (which was fine), however, they put an expiration date on it! Really? You have $1200 of my money and if I don't use it in a certain amount of time, you just keep it! That's exactly what happened. I went to book another house and they still knew that they had my money by looking up my account, but because it was expired, I couldn't use it. This review is for Prosser Perch in Truckee near Lake Tahoe My family and I had a great time here. The cabin does not have a view but it made up for it by being very comfortable and CLEAN. It had everything we needed and more. Central heating and air conditioning was a plus, as was the washer and dryer. The cabin/house is about 15 mins away from Kings beach and 30 min from Sand harbor which was perfect! My family would definitely stay here again. Loved it! read more

If I could give them less than one star, I would. Their entire sales pitch is a sham. They never followed through on any of their promises. The rentals they promised never materialized. They act like your property is theirs and the presentation is like a generic hotel at best. If you strive to have an amazing adventure for your guests, Vacasa is not who you want to manage your property. Your best bet is to just list and manage it yourself. Your worst day will be better than Vacasa's standard presentation. They can't even clean the house properly. Stay far away from them. We attempted to renovate a home prior to moving to Boise this past September. Not surprisingly, the renovations went long, and we needed a place to stay. We found a house to stay in through Vacasa Rentals. It's a great place, and fully furnished - so we didn't need to unpack anything but our clothes. Rented Banana Wind in Maravilla/Miramar Beach. Loved the layout of the house. Close beach access and convenient pool access. Great view of the sunset and 180 degree view of several 4th of July fireworks displays. Had some minor issues with the house but only a couple that were really inconvenient (one toilet didn't flush and & one shower cold water knob didn't work). There were other minor issues but none that inconvenienced us. As far as cleanliness, the first floor tiles could use a good scrub. Everything else was clean. Hopefully everything will be fixed before the next renters get there. Would give this 5 stars if floors were clean and everything worked properly. Would definitely recommend especially for large or multiple families. read more

Do not use Vacasa! False advertising and their customer service is a joke. I booked an 800 sq ft apartment with two beds and a sofa, they tried to put me in a 300 sq ft 1 bed with sofa studio. I booked through booking.com and Vacasa stated in an email that what is advertised is not always what you get and sometimes they use generic photos. I have my confirmation with floor plan and number of beds and will continue to fight for my full refund. They were rude and incompetent. Don't risk your vacation with this company!! read more

This review is for Elk Point Lodge Lower Level rental: After the LONG drive on a dirt road with speed bumps, the key code didn't work to get in. Of course no cell service, so had to drive down to get a signal to call and get the backup key code. They seemed insistent that the key code should've worked, but after dozens of attempts and a broken nail, they gave me the backup key code. The place had fleas and there had obviously been a white dog staying there as our black dog and the kids had white fur all over them from the carpet. Perhaps if the couch hadn't been so gross they wouldn't have had to sit on the carpet. The kids were looking forward to the ping pong/pool/air hockey table until they saw that it was broken and totally unsafe to use. Didn't matter anyway because the equipment to use with the table was totally destroyed! We picked up after our Golden Doodle when she went potty outside but apparently the previous tenants (probably the white, flea ridden dog owners) hadn't. We had to dodge doggie missiles in front of the entrance. And when we did pick up after the dog, we had to march all the way to the upstairs patio to throw it away, as the only trash cans are upstairs for the upper unit, as well as all the patio furniture and chairs. It seems those who rent upstairs get all the perks and the lower level gets the leftovers, if there are any. They had at least half a dozen trash cans and two sets of patio furniture while the lower level had a chair and a dusty table, hardly useable by a family of 4! I contacted the rental agency right away upon seeing the inside to inquire about moving upstairs to that unit. It seemed much nicer, so thought I'd give it a try. They told me it was already rented out and unavailable. When we left two days later, no one had ever come and stayed upstairs. I have to say the arrangements to rent the cabin were good, the staff was helpful on that part. The follow up, after sending photos of the broken furniture, etc, was non-existent. They also sent me an email (when I could get download email in town, because the wifi broke after the first night there) the email said for an extra $40 we could check out as late as midnight on our departure day. Of course we didn't do that, as we couldn't wait to leave! read more

I took my family to a vacation home for some R&R and we were not even at the residence 4 hours before we noticed pubic hair and fresh blood on the bedding. Upon further investigation we found excessive amounts of hair and bedding that smelled like it had been sweat in for weeks. We have rented vacation houses through Vacasa before, each time a positive experience. We were all set for a trip this spring to celebrate my husband's birthday. Sadly the town we were visiting had to close to tourists due to the new coronavirus. Vacasa worked with us when we had to cancel our trip and even though I'm sure they have thousands of customers trying to cancel or re-schedule, they responded to our inquiries promptly and personally. Tried Vacasa to manage our house in Idaho. Promised some many things. Sounded like a perfect fit to have someone manage our home and generate some income. We mentioned we were concerned about groups coming in from the University and wanted a price point that were keep that from happening. Was told they would inventory the house and if anything was missing they would bill the guests, also true for any damages. We found out there were days that they rented for $10 a person which resulted in loud college parties. Broken furniture not compensated for and when we requested a copy of the inventory to compare with what was there none could be found. Billed for maintenance work that was not done. As noted in other reviews, contact with the company was never addressed or returned. read more

We were highly dissatisfied with our stay! We rented the White House Villa to serve as a gathering place for our family for Christmas. While the listing indicated the home had cable TV, there was no such thing. The only TV available was streaming from Amazon Prime & Sling TV. No cable,No local stations, no watching bowl games with our family. Watching football with our family had been a big part of our holiday plan as both Washington teams were playing in bowl games. We would not have rented this place if we had known there was no cable or satellite available. This was false advertising for sure. Aside from that we wouldn't have watched anyway because the furnace could not raise the heat above 63 degrees in the place due to Boise's cold weather or some defect with the furnace. No one was comfortable hanging out at the house and freezing. We had to transport all our food & cook it at our son's tiny apartment. Again not the Christmas celebration we had planned when we rented the villa for $250/night. We ended up only sleeping at the villa. We could have rented a motel room for much less and had a bed, cable, and heat. There was also no garage available as advertised in their on line guest book. The blinds were broken and wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom. Really for $250 / night. read more

I see some issues that others have had and I guess we had similar questions. I didn't get a reply to a inquiry about guest passes for our stay but they were waiting when we arrived. I was very happy with the rental unit very clean, everything we needed for kitchen amenities and nice appliances. (short a couple towels but we were prepared for that so we didn't ask for more). Wi Fi was great, Cable TV and a great Hot Tub. Our vacation plan worked out and Eagle Crest is a great resort. Plantation East- Gulf Shores, AL. My family and I loved that there were numerous pools and hot tubs (indoor & outdoor). The variety made it exciting! Easy access to the beach. I rented a cabin through Vacasa in October of 2015 for a stay in August of 2016. In February of 2016 they canceled our reservation even though I had paid the entire reservation amount. They stated they would refund my paid fee, but after over 2 weeks my refund is still in "process." They are quick to take your money but in no hurry to get it back even when it is their fault. OWNERS BEWARE - SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE! We own a vacation rental in Gatlinburg, TN and we were looking to move to a full management company. We located Vacasa online and also received some mail from them.. They sounded great and had a guarantee. Their communication and presentation in the beginning was great. Promises to 'go live' on 25 top sites within 24 hours. First off... that did not happen. Once we finally went 'live', it was just on their website that no one has heard of. When I looked into it, we were then told that all the other sites would take 3 weeks. Who can afford to miss 3 weeks of rentals, specifically during October?? During this waiting period calls, emails and texts would go unanswered. We had to basically bug them to respond. We then checked on our 'go live' status weeks later and were told that they have never had a rental have such an issue getting up and running... After all of this we voiced our concern that if this is how we are treated, then how will our guests be treated? And that we were really going to have to evaluate our decision. From that moment on we never heard from Hannah again about our 'go live' status or about anything. The icing on the cake was when they decided to just not clean the rental before our next guests (we had transferred our current reservations onto their calendar, so those cleanings became their responsibility). THANKFULLY the guests that checked into our unclean home were awesome and understanding. And of course VACASA did not answer our calls or emails once we found out they did not clean.... shocker... SO DO NOT WORK WITH VACASA! So disappointed and appalled at the way they do business. They definitely do not think of your place as theirs... read more

Do not list your property with, allow them to manage your property, or rent from these people. I hired them to manage my property, relying on their false guarantee to get the house rented quickly and give me rental volume. They never rented it. They ran up bills I told them I would not authorize or pay on my property, and had vendors bill me for services I clearly stated I would not authorize. They ordered phone service for me,which they said they did to get alarm and security services for me which they said they got, but they never did.They never did anything. They took over my advertising sites, purportedly to manage them., and simply stole them and will not return them to me. They are fraudulently holding themselves out as my representative,long ago terminated, and purporting to rent properties they are not authorized to rent. Far warning- if they rent my property to you, I will have to have you removed bu the police. Do not rent from them. read more

Never rent from Vacasa Rentals! They rented a house to me that wasn't available, they just hoped the owner would leave for the weekend. We came from 4 states for a family reunion, including my 90 year old mom and we ended up sleeping in our car for 3 days with no toilet or shower. The closest accommodations were 3 hours away. Afterward they told us they don't give refunds, but we could have $200 off our next rental. They ruined our family reunion and the last time my mom will see many of those family members.
