There was no pool available for 3 weeks. They were refinishing the pool surface. When the pool finally did open I was informed that the lap pool is not heated in the winter. No pool for 3 weeks no lap pool at all. This was never brought to my attention during the many conversations I had with this company. In addition I forgot my pass one night. When entering the gate around 11 pm the guard would not let me in. He would not let me go to the condo and get the pass. I called Contempo's emergency number. That person talked to the guard. I still could not enter the resort, even after Contempo verified my lease. The guard wanted to see a copy of the original contract. My phone was out of power, around midnight I finally got to borrow someones phone and download the document needed. Not very good customer service for a vacation home company!

No Southern Hospitality during our 6 night stay We were on a…read morevery special family vacation and Starmark vacation services were unreliable to say the least, and worst of all, most of our time at the house was ruined because I ordered pool heat, and it was turned on 2 days after our arrival. I made several calls, and there was no urgency on their part. We had pool heat for a little over a day, and I was charged $110.00...ridiculous. I called four times on Saturday to report cold water. The neighbors pool was 10 degrees warmer than our. Our compressor was not even running. I was promised that someone would be to fix it within the hour and that they would send me an update. Neither happened. Also, if you want t make a phone call , you must go outside. No service in the house. They don't tell you about this problem. We requested a pass to use the clubhouse. It was not in the house, so we had to call about that, finally got it before noon our second day. Also, very limited bath towel supply, and no wash clothes...had to go buy some. The kitchen was not stocked with items to cook a meal, all the skillets had broken handles, and the pots and pans were in such bad shape they would not have sold in a garage sale. The house was beautiful, but not functional. Beds were not comfortable...laid in a hole. The pool area was nice, but with cold water we didn't get to enjoy it much. Our 2 and 3 year old were not happy. Especially when I was quoted that the water would be 88-89 degrees. Our vacation was centered around the pool because of the kids. I have used VRBO for 15 years, and have never had a bad experience, only good ones, but this was a terrible, expensive experience. Not service oriented at all. At the very least we should get a refund for the pool heat!
