However I do not think I'll be shopping here much longer. I had stopped by to grab a gift the other day and was helped by an older woman I did not recognize. Like I mentioned previously, the staff here is always very friendly and helpful. This woman was not. A minute into asking for her assistance I was disappointed to discover she was down right bossy and pushy, I could tell she was only focused on making the sale and not actually helping me. And when I tried to wave off the help and shop for myself, she lingered and closely watched me shop while chatting my ear off about her children. I'm a mother, god knows I talk about my kids any chance I get-but this just felt excessive and almost manipulative. Eventually the other younger lady happened to pop into the back room and was swift in saving me from the uncomfortable situation. She was very helpful and actually listened to me. On my way out I had also asked her about the lady I had encountered previously and learned that she apparently is the new manager. Needless to say, if that is how this store is going to be run from now on I feel bad for both the staff and customers. I don't think I will be shopping here for much longer. Such a shame since everything is so lovely.

Despite coming to Portland for many years, this spot never caught our eye. My wife is a big fan of stuffies and animal related items in general. I will say that in my opinion the prices here do seem high, but it does appear to be more of custom/smaller created items. I could be incorrect though as I noticed other reviews mention finding similar items cheaper. We did find a perfect gift of a stitched elephant for our niece that we know she will love. The high prices and lack of much enthusiasm and greeting from the workers is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Might be more of a spot to browse than actually purchase from but nonetheless check it out.

Starry Eyes is a small, carefully arranged children's clothing shop on Washington Ave. They sell…read moreboth new and consignment. I usually find that the appeal of a consignment store really rests in the eye of the buyer. With that said, Starry Eye's consignment collection is small yet particularly selected with a great many beautiful, quality items at reasonable prices. I should also mention that in addition to clothing, they have a great selection of shoes and even some quality toys and puzzles! I have purchased many gifts there for friends having babies and always get a "where did you get this?" when bringing a gift from Starry Eyes. Tip: The store does not necessarily wrap gifts, but they have adorable bags and tissue paper and are usually happy to fix something up for gift giving. Tip: They do have odd hours, so call ahead!

At Walmart, it wasn't easy to browse since most of the men's razors were on the upper shelves, and I use a wheelchair. Fortunately, I met a very kind employee named Irial who was stocking shelves. She listened carefully when I explained what I needed and took the time to help -- lifting down one box after another until we finally found exactly what I was looking for: a Remington R3 razor with a sliding on/off switch. I can't say enough about Irial's patience and kindness. She went above and beyond to make sure I could find the right product. I truly hope Walmart recognizes employees like her and continues hiring helpful, compassionate staff

Unfortunately, after my last three experiences selling at Lots for Tots in Falmouth, I feel like I need to share my feedback. I have repeatedly had interactions with the same employee (I'm not sure if she is in a management role) that have left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. She has consistently come across as dismissive and condescending, and instead of feeling like a valued customer, I have felt like I was inconveniencing her. During my most recent visit to sell, she was spelling my last name incorrectly. I gently corrected her, and her response was to snap back and roll her eyes. It was a small interaction, but the tone and attitude made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome. I also wasn't greeted or thanked during my visit. I completely understand that everyone has difficult days, but after multiple experiences like this, I hope this feedback can be an opportunity to reflect on the customer experience. I would love to continue supporting a local children's resale store, but I hope future customers are met with the warmth and kindness they deserve!
