Great little shop and super laid back artists and chill vibes all around. Our last day in Maui I wanted to get a souvenir tattoo and my sister in law wanted her first. This place had the most reviews and I liked the tattoos I was seeing. We called in the morning and they said they could take us in as walk-ins at 4pm. We arrived and were promptly greeted by tori! We filled out our paperwork on the iPad and air dropped the photos we wanted to her and Cole. I had cole and he was awesome - very chill and friendly. He drew up the sea turtle for me to match the stamp outline and I love it! Goes really well. He has a very light hand and it was smooth sailing. I didn't bleed at all and still haven't with my new skin on. I'm not sure the name of the artist my SIL had but she wore a hat with a headlamp and she was super awesome! Friendly and talking with her about all our dogs. Loved her energy and was very sweet to my SIL since it was her first tattoo. Again, light handed so no bleeding either for her. I've been wanting to get a traditional Okinawan women's hand tattoo (hajichi) for a while now. When my daughter asked me to take her to get her ear cartilage pierced, I figured this was a good time to check this off my bucket list. I made an appointment for my tattoo. Piercings are on a walk-in basis. Stacey did my daughter's piercing and she was awesome! My daughter felt at ease and the piercing was exactly how she wanted it. Jerry did my hand tattoo. He was so laid back and made me feel completely comfortable. He tried his best to distract me by sharing some jokes. The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and it only took about 30 minutes. I need to go back in a month for a touch up (which is included in the price), but I'm already happy with how it turned out. Now I'm thinking about adding to my tattoo! read more

Me and my mother had gone to get a few lobe piercings and ended up with 25 piercings between the 2 of us in 6 days. This one is for Sarah, she gave me my first tattoo!!! It hurt like a mofo buuuttt that's to be expected. Her hand stayed pretty consistent in pressure so I didn't feel like I was riding a wild roller coaster of pain. She also did my fiancé's sick rooster on his calf! She stayed focused and gave great care instructions after putting on the saniderm wrap. How it Began - We were recommended by a tattoo parlor we were eating lunch at Ohana's Grill nearby to check out this spot as one of about 4 options. We checked out one more and found out south Kihei gets pretty booked. Luckily, we gave Vagabond a call and Jerry booked my fiancé and I, one hour after the next for the following day! Lucky us for sure! Ambience - its very colorful in a black way lol. I love the blue grey wallpaper, the interesting art, photos, clocks, the porcelain-appearance ceilings. There is literally intention written into every bit of this place. There's this super COOOOL big shelf aka hidden door. I mean, it's just a fun place. I am so ecstatic about the lovebirds and plumerias the shop put together for me. I left the art in their hands and when I came in for our appt, Jerry, the owner asked if we wanted to see the video of how it was put together (lines, coloring). So of course we said yes! Checked in through an IPad, provided a Selfie with mask lowered for the photo and sat on their cool old classic sofas til I was called first. Stacey, the main piercer there who also normally answers the phone is very sweet. Jerry seems super chill, and you can totally see his smile through his mask. Sarah keeps it real and is a genuine soul. While tattooing myself and my fiancé, she would attempt to answer questions for walk-ins. They are busy so I would highly recommend the appointments. I decided to pierce my belly button on a whim and found Vagabond after doing some research online (they take walk-ins for piercings!). Sarah was excellent, making this an easy and professional experience that truly didn't hurt at all! They have great jewelry choices that are included in the cost of the piercing, and I was in and out in about 20-30 minutes. I really appreciated her calm demeanor throughout the appointment, and before she pierced me, she guided me through a breathing exercise that made it simple and painless. She was teaching an apprentice during my appointment, which I thought was really cool! You can tell she's a great teacher, patient and not overbearing. So, my girlfriend and I took our first vacation together to Maui and thought it would be cool to end our trip by getting a tattoo together. (No names on body) We did our research and decided to use Vagabond Tattoo. I am here to tell you that we made a GREAT choice. The customer service was phenomenal. This was going to be my first tattoo (I'm 52) and Stacey was great at explaining the process and matching me and my girlfriend up with the right artist. Stacey scheduled us with Bryan, gave us his email, and encouraged us to reach out to him to share ideas as to what we wanted, the size of what we wanted, and where we wanted it. We scheduled the date and sent email off to Bryan. The day before appointment we went in to meet Bryan in person and solidify details After discussing ideas, looking at photos, and deciding on a place to put this ink, my girlfriend and I walked out of there confident that we chose the right place. Bryan was awesome. The appointment time came and Bryan shared what he came up with and we were STOKED. I went first and it was a great experience. The banter and conversation with EVERYONE in the studio made the experience a blast. My first tat had been completed and Bryan called my girlfriend over to look at what he had done. Bryan, being the character he is, had drawn an extra appendage on my turtle and freaked my girlfriend out. It was hilarious. After removing the extra piece of art, I got to see what Bryan had done and it was PERFECT!!! Exactly what we had discussed and even better.
