This is of course a…read moregovernment/ military armory that I believe is still used for that purpose(?) but is also rented out as an event space. I was here for a training class that involved the use of several automobiles. The main hanger is large enough to accommodate many many more than were actually in use. I can see how this might be a good spot for beer or wine events, or even craft or other vendor driven gatherings. I even liked seeing the military displays and notices. Our class was not large and unfortunately this large space needed even larger heating units to warm it up, noisy ones at that. It was a balancing act to run them just enough to keep from being chilly but still be able to hear the speakers. My biggest criticism would be the men's bathroom conditions. As the other reviewer noted, they are not suitable for large crowds without additional port a potties. Since our crowd was not large this was not an issue, but cleanliness certainly was. For some reason all of the urinals were removed. No matter, plenty of stalls. But these were in desperate need of a power washing, or better yet maybe a sandblasting. This may be the first time I've used this word in a review, but the condition was deplorable. Now that I think about it, maybe this space is not used in its former military purpose. I sure hope not, our troops deserve better, even if only part time.

She takes amazing care of the space, so that not only is it very COVID safe, but it's also stocked with snacks, and that you have everything you need. Highly recommended :)

We got a $20 voucher that we could use per day in the restaurant or snack shop. You forget to use it, you lose it. There were about three events happening on the property this weekend. There was still ample parking. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable.

So much nicer than the kinda icky bridal suite we stayed in 8 years ago But overall, this, like rod's, is still a pretty traditional place. If you don't like that, you won't like it! And if you're not staying for business or wedding, maybe not your gig. Still, I love it. Nice, friendly, train in the back, close to Morristown and Madison both lovely towns. The outdoor patio is really nice too. + My top reason - so good for kids. Kid's menu portions are large and prices are fair. My kids are always happy with the food here. We recently came in on a Sunday which is kids eat free day, and they also have a balloon artist which is cute. + A full bar with lots of TVs and an upstairs comedy club. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, room service was very quick, and the food was good overall. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the number and accessibility of the outlets in the room. What I keep forgetting every time I book this hotel is that the lobby is beautiful and appears to have been recently renovated. The photos make the property look modern, but once you get to the guest room, it's a completely different experience. The rooms and hallways are in desperate need of a refresh. My bathtub had rust and peeling, and the room overall felt very dated. The lighting in the guest rooms is also one of the biggest drawbacks. There is no overhead light, just two bedside lamps and one lamp near the bathroom. Even with every light turned on, the room still feels dim, making it difficult to work, pack, or get ready. One safety concern I'd like to mention is the windows. There should be a notice letting guests know they do not open. I was able to unlatch mine and crack it open slightly, but it immediately slammed shut with significant force. Had my fingers been in the wrong place, I genuinely think I could have been seriously injured. The elevators were also extremely slow throughout my stay. As for dining, room service arrived quickly and the meal was good, although I was surprised that the menu described the side as "mashed potatoes," when it was actually smashed fingerling potatoes. It wasn't a problem, just not what I expected. In-room dining is also fairly expensive, though that's to be expected at a full-service hotel. What disappointed me most is that Westin is positioned as one of Marriott's modern, premium brands, and this property simply doesn't live up to that standard. The public spaces reflect the Westin experience, but the guest rooms do not. They feel outdated and worn, which makes the overall experience feel inconsistent. This was my second stay here in the past six months. The service continues to be excellent, but until the guest rooms and hallways are renovated, I'll likely choose a different property when I'm back in the area for work.

Compounding this issue, bottled water is not provided to guests, leaving visitors without reliable access to safe drinking water. Severe Room & Comfort Issues: Our room carried a persistent, heavy odor of cigarette smoke, and to make matters worse, the air conditioning completely shut off during our stay, making the room uncomfortably warm and difficult to rest in. Communication & Staffing Inefficiencies: Reaching the front desk by phone is practically impossible, as calls continuously go unanswered. Despite the property appearing heavily overstaffed with employees frequently standing around in groups, actual guest service is entirely absent. Misleading Facility Information: The pool is advertised and signed as heated, but the water was freezing cold and completely unusable. Ineffective Management Response: When management eventually reaches out asking for feedback, engaging with them feels like running around in circles. This location does not align with the standard of quality, service, and reliability associated with other properties under the Marriott brand. Save your time, money, and peace of mind by booking your stay elsewhere.

Before checking in, I specifically asked the front desk attendant whether the AC was working properly, and I was assured that it was. That clearly wasn't the case. I chose not to complain during my stay and simply toughed it out, but a comfortable room is a basic expectation -- especially when you're traveling for work and need proper rest. Being told everything was fine, only to deal with a noisy, ineffective unit all night, was frustrating. I won't be returning to this location, and I'd encourage the hotel to take a closer look at both its room maintenance and the accuracy of the information its staff provides to guests.
