I was here for a training class that involved the use of several automobiles. The main hanger is large enough to accommodate many many more than were actually in use. I can see how this might be a good spot for beer or wine events, or even craft or other vendor driven gatherings. I even liked seeing the military displays and notices. Our class was not large and unfortunately this large space needed even larger heating units to warm it up, noisy ones at that. It was a balancing act to run them just enough to keep from being chilly but still be able to hear the speakers. My biggest criticism would be the men's bathroom conditions. As the other reviewer noted, they are not suitable for large crowds without additional port a potties. Since our crowd was not large this was not an issue, but cleanliness certainly was. For some reason all of the urinals were removed. No matter, plenty of stalls. But these were in desperate need of a power washing, or better yet maybe a sandblasting. This may be the first time I've used this word in a review, but the condition was deplorable. Now that I think about it, maybe this space is not used in its former military purpose. I sure hope not, our troops deserve better, even if only part time.

Housekeeping: At the front desk, they stated that housekeeping is not automatic, you would need to request it. Fine by me as we usually don't utilize it. A $257 charge was made to our cc upon check in and would be refunded if everything is "ok". Breakfast is from 7:30-10:00 am. It's adequate. We got a $20 voucher that we could use per day in the restaurant or snack shop. You forget to use it, you lose it. There were about three events happening on the property this weekend. There was still ample parking. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable.

My husband and I love to stay there and eat at Rod's for our special occasions. The renovation is great! The rooms are so nice now. Modern and very comfy! We most recently stayed in a king suite and it was big and lovely! So much nicer than the kinda icky bridal suite we stayed in 8 years ago But overall, this, like rod's, is still a pretty traditional place. If you don't like that, you won't like it! And if you're not staying for business or wedding, maybe not your gig. Still, I love it. Nice, friendly, train in the back, close to Morristown and Madison both lovely towns. And I love Rod's and the red dog, both fun old timely places for some food or a drink.

It does sound like they're aware and are working on renovations, so that's good. My room, and for that matter, the public spaces as well, were clean and comfortable. However, my room was quite dated. The sliding bathroom door was kind of falling apart. The bathtub area, while clean, was definitely in need of a makeover. The TV in my room didn't work. The window in my room was so dirty, you could barely see outside. I wish they had water fillers in the common areas instead of just old water fountains. Others in my work group mentioned problems with the AC or other issues in their rooms. Anyone in the general hotel staff I came in contact with, including the front desk, were very nice. One issue with a morning waiter in the Blue Morel restaurant, but I mentioned that in that review. Also, it's really secluded from anything, so you can't easily walk anywhere from here. I wouldn't specifically avoid staying here again, but I'd probably check other options first.

Location- fantastic! Easy access from main roads, plenty of parking even late at night, I can see why it's popular. Yes you do have to pay for parking. Check in- easy! They went through the hotel map and allowed us to pick a good option for our needs. We felt very welcomed and informed. However, when I noticed the business lounge door lock was broken and I couldn't get in- the front desk person just didn't respond. Room- mix! The kitchen area was spotless and I was VERY IMPRESSED with the included tools, silverware, dishware, cleaning supplies, and how clean everything was. If you did want to do an extended stay to cook, you are set. But the rest of the room is so bizarrely laid out. You have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom, there's no solid door between the two so hope you're close with everyone and have an eye mask for the light! The air vents go directly on top of the bed so you may need more bedding with the AC going. The water flow varied- sometimes great, sometimes not. The only long mirror is in the bathroom- without much room to step back. I've never been so disappointed in a breakfast before. The bread/pastry items were all badly stale, the basic breakfast items went low and took forever to be replaced. Nothing had any seasoning on it. The layout of where plates/plasticware are made no sense. Even the juice was bad. There's one small trash bin that is difficult to put stuff in. Absolutely nothing good to say. We had a fine stay for a place near where we wanted to be at a decent price. Bring your own food and an extra blanket and plan your toilet visits and you'll be fine. If you're here for the airport, this is a good choice.

The people at the desk weren't the friendliest. In fact, they seemed less than enthused about me being there. Once the check-in process was complete, I went up to my room. It seemed nice at first, but upon entry it felt like a sauna! I went out and got dinner and figured fit just needed time to cool down since it was much hotter than usual. After coming back, I noticed the temperature hadn't changed. I alerted the desk upon on my way to work out to let them know. When I got done from working out, I noticed it still hadn't changed so I asked them again and then sent someone up. He deconstructed the unit and gave me the "VIP" temperature, which unlocks it to go past 65. He said he put it at 60 and said it'll cool down in 10 mins. Now, while he was giving his spiel, he specifically said something about the hot water being off. I asked if that meant I wouldn't have hot water for my shower and he said no because they were separate units. I beg to differ. Once he left, I hopped in the shower and surprise surprise, no hot water. It wasn't even lukewarm. Not to mention, it never cooled down and I woke up sweating. I alerted them in the morning what went on and asked if I could switch rooms. The attendant said she'd award me 5,000 points for my trouble and gave me a new room. The first thing I did was check the shower to make sure the water was hot, and it was. I noticed the air felt the same as it did in my other room so I let them know on my way to breakfast. I came back and saw it hadn't changed. I told them again on my way to workout. Came back and same thing. When I went back, the attendant said the repairman closed out the ticket but she could send him back. The man came back to the room and you could tell he was pissed to be there. His tone was dismissive and after explaining what happened he said, "we fixed everything. You need to sit here for a while and you'll see." Oh ok, pal. I guess I'm a child now. I said thanks and he left. While the new room eventually got cooler, it was the principal and tone behind the matter. I wouldn't be raising a fuss if there wasn't merit behind my concern. If you're ok with mediocre service, this is the hotel for you. I won't be back. Update: 3/19/2026- I never got the points that they said they'd give me.
