    Hair found on food 2x
    Rafael N.

WOULD LEAVE ZERO IF THERE WAS AN OPTION. HAIR ON FOOD 2x. NEVER COMING BACK. FOOD IS TERRIBLE AND SERVICE EVEN WORSE. Most disrespectful treatment ever directly from the manager. The restaurant has a door directly to the outside that opens and closes every 2 minutes. It's an outside area with more tables which they refuse to close during the winter. With the door opening every 30 seconds everyone in the restaurant basically was freezing during dinner. The worst part is when talking to the manager/owner about it he was extremely rude and even aggressive. The manager encouraged me to give me a zero review. He didn't care. Shame on you in treating your customers like this. Food was also terrible and twice we found hair in our food. Is anyone wearing hair nets in this kitchen? Again, the service deserves an absolute ZERO. Rethink your customer strategy from here on and show more respect.

Kudos for the pleasant outdoor, enclosed and heated pavilion for a more spacious and pleasant dining experience. However, their fair prices for the Bernardsville neighborhood have generated an increased level of popularity that is now negatively affecting the dining experience. The indoor dining area floor plan has been maximized to capacity for the greatest number of tables possible. This has created a congested, noisy and potentially unhealthy environment. I would avoid this place on Friday and Saturday nights. In a struggle to meet the demands of its growing number of guests, much of the food is not cooked to order, and therefore diners must strategize when selecting their choices, as to what must be made fresh, such as the salads, ravioli, and some desserts. The items with longer cooking time such as the Osso Bucco, Veal Valdostana, Short Ribs, Lasagna and risotto, I would not recommend. The salads and ravioli are outstanding and delicious. Most of the desserts are great too. But you may experience an unreasonable delay when transitioning from dinner to dessert. If you do choose to dine here, I'd recommend asking to be seated in their outdoor heated enclosed pavilion. It is far more pleasant than inside. Parking is for the most part limited to on the street and near the train station paid via an app. The staff is friendly but inconsistent and not always available or able to keep up with the crowded dining room demands.

My sister and mom ate here for a little birthday celebration lunch. We shared fresh ravioli for an appetizer and had the tri-color salad, tuna special, and chicken truffle sandwich. The ravioli were melt-in-your-mouth amazing. All the entrées were exceptionally delicious! The outdoor seating was shaded and enjoyable. Service was excellent. We will definitely be returning again to this local spot. Thanks for a great time!

There was so much to love here. The only reason it's not a 5-star rating is because of my entree. The specials list was awesome and immediately makes you question what you were planning to order off the main menu. We started with the fried calamari - it was crispy and hot and the spicy marinara was awesome. My husband had the lamb Osso Bucco special with the pea risotto. It was a 5/5! I ordered the "signature chicken Milanese" and it left a little to be desired. The arugula, tomatoes, onion, and mozzarella were super fresh. The chicken was moist but not crispy on the outside - almost as if the chicken cutlets were placed in a heating pan after cooking. The dressing was literally tasteless. Suggestion is to crisp the chicken and to pick an acid-forward dressing - either add lemon juice or balsamic vinegar. We had cappuccinos for dessert and they were perfect!

    And so it begins

Haven't been here in a few years and honestly was not the one who picked this for dinner. However, this entire dinner exceeded expectations. Very nice outdoor ambiance. Fantastic service and delicious dinners. Putting this back on the rotation. Great Italian menu options and the specials are on point. Bring your own wine and make it a great night:

BLACK ANGUS FILET MIGNON MEATBALLS - tomato sauce, basil, ricotta

I do not know how long this place has been here, but I did not know about it until just the other night when we came together for dinner. Parking is a somewhat random chance as many places are reserved for other businesses. If they are closed, is that parking available? Well, who knows... The entrance is somewhat weird too, with the door swinging the wrong way up against a railing. At least that seems like it would be something they could fix to at least make a friendlier place out of it. The inside seems to be smallish and the outside area that seems to be added during COVID might be a challenge with the weather, which is mostly no different from anywhere else. Before getting to the food, I would say the one negative thing that stood out was the noise level. For whatever reason, this was one of the highest noise level places I have been to in recent memory. If you are in the mood for a quiet night of conversation over dinner, this is most likely not going to be a great option for you. On to the food. Everything was really outstanding. The BLACK ANGUS FILET MIGNON MEATBALLS - tomato sauce, basil, ricotta, were not the best meatballs I have ever had. Yet the total experience of the starter dish was wonderful to the point where I would certainly have it on a return visit. For the main course, I had the BLACKENED YELLOW-FIN TUNA - wasabi cauliflower puree, spinach soy ginger glaze. This was truly a wonderful dish that made the entire visit memorable. Two final notes... it is BYOB which I do not mind, but come prepared if you want a drink as there is nothing within a reasonable walking distance for a last - minute purchase. Also, I really like the fact that their website seems up-to-date even with the specials. I do not know how often they change, but bravo on this point alone!

We recently attended a party here and we had a fixed menu. Great choices on the menu- the staff were attentive to our party and brought everything out timely. The food was delicious and fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We sat outside under their cute little covered area. We had a nice time. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area again!

French Onion soup- a bit charred but still yummy!
    Christina M.

Fantastic! I got the French Onion soup and crab cakes, and both were delicious! The French Onion soup looked burnt, but it did not affect the flavor and I enjoyed every last bite. The crab cakes and green beans were also a great dish- pair it with the bread they bring and it is a perfect meal. The server who helped us was funny and helpful, in that curt, NJ kinda way. :) I got an order of the chocolate churros to go so I could share it with some friends I was meeting up with, and OMG, they were phenomenal! I wish I had gotten a 2nd order because the 1st order was not enough to share! We did not BYO but there is a liquor store nearby for those interested in alcohol.

There were tons of intriguing options on the menu, and it took me longer than usual to decide. The service was friendly and appreciated. For appetizers, the oysters ($1 each), and the salmon ceviche special ($21) was ordered. The oysters are typically $3, but on Wednesday and Thursday, they are $1. They were from the East coast and small. The cocktail sauce was pleasant with just enough heat. The ceviche had serrano chili, pineapple relish, and a micro salad. This was tasty. I really liked how the salmon was cut. There was a good amount present, but some parts were a little tough. I liked the combination of the spicy serrano chili with the sweet pineapple relish, but I surprisingly wanted a little more of the pineapple. For an entrée, I had the blackened pork chop ($38). It came with a roasted butternut squash puree, sauteed asparagus, and a pineapple chutney. This was great. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium temperature with the right amount of seasoning. The puree was a nice touch and the pineapple chutney paired nicely with the pork. The asparagus was nice in the puree and cooked ideal too. I also tried the sesame-crusted ahi tuna that came with a Jasmine rice cake, baby bok choy, and a ginger Thai coconut sauce. The tuna was cooked to perfect rare, and the sauce was essentially a curry which was flavorful. The bok choy was hardly seasoned though. Regardless, it was still solid. Will I go back? I would.

Originally, we planned to stop at a coffee shop to relax and wait for the traffic to ease. However, when we drove past this restaurant, we decided to check it out instead. The gentleman who seated us was super friendly. Our server, Theressa J., was equally warm, and professional. We weren't hungry at all. My husband ordered the Crispy Fritto Misto as an appetizer. I couldn't resist ordering the three-course meal, which included tuna and salmon poke to start, followed by lobster tail gnocchi and bread pudding for dessert. Since I wasn't hungry, I ended up taking most of my entrée and my dessert home. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we're so glad we decided to give this restaurant a try. We had to endure this ordeal for two hours- it took close to 20 minutes just to get the check. All this could be overlooked if the food was good but it was not. Cauliflower appetizer was undercooked and overly spiced. Chicken parm meatballs were dry. Halibut smelled very fishy which is usually not a good sign - which proved to be true. Short ribs were fatty, chewy and one dimensional and sat on a bed of vegetables that consisted of potatoes, corn, tomatoes and other unidentifiable vegetables all in an unappetizing color brown. (Those were left untouched). Some gravy or wine reduction might have helped but it was all served dry. The best dish was a side of mashed potatoes which were buttery, creamy and well-seasoned- they would have made a great bed for the short ribs to sit on instead of those sad vegetables. The Funfetti donut sundae was good. The most positive comment I can make is that they didn't rush us out! To pay as much as we did for food and service that was mediocre at best was disappointing- we will not be going back.
