In the winter months the library becomes a refuge and a place to be, especially if you have little ones. With two different parking areas, parking is no issue. However If you have a stroller or wheelchair, I recommend the upper lot. They have activities for different age groups, educational classes, and a variety of fantastic resources outside of the library as well. I love that you're able to order books online from different libraries around Colorado and conveniently receive them here.

This was my second experience and it did not disappoint. The views out the train windows are spectacular as your train winds around the mountain and you get to see a waterfall and the river rushing by! Cowboys and ladies are all dressed up to give you an experience that you'll remember for a long time! There is free parking that it can get crowded so get there at least 30 minutes early maybe more and buy your ticket ahead of time as they sometimes sell out day of.

I love the closeness of the Eagle Bahn gondola and many restaurants around. Plus, my favorite fall foliage trail, Berry Picker, starts here. Summer parking used to be free but now is $10/day and cheaper for less hours. Was definitely nice to have free parking back then! Winter time, I like to park at Donovan Park and grab the free bus. If you're super early, you can get close street parking here. They have an annual Oktoberfest and Dog Town usually sets up here during the Go Pro Mountain Games. Lots of good shops and places to eat.

Most of the visitors also leave town after the last farmers market that time. After that is skiing season that may take another two months to happen. The town centre has the European bell tower with motion puppets. The village build in slope and the public parking takes you right in the town. Overall visit during that time only takes 1 hour. The gondola at the back take you to mountain and allow to walk to other side gondola and come down to Vail Village and take the bus to the Lionhead Parking.

I did feel that there were a few negatives...for me (the non-skier). I just wished they had more boutiques that weren't so ski-oriented...and nicer coffee shops. Despite being such a swanky village, they also seemed to run short on nice bakeries and coffee shops. In fact, I was nearly shocked how basic some places were! Plenty of nice restaurants though...and many had cool European ambiance. Again, I'm not a skier, but I had no problems spending my time (up to 6 hours or more) walking around this pretty village. It truly felt as if I was in Germany or Switzerland. LOVE this place!!

Vail is one of those places that lives up to the hype. The mountain is enormous, the skiing is…read moreworld-class, and the village is one of my favorite mountain towns anywhere. It is undeniably expensive and often the busiest of Colorado's major destination resorts, but there is a reason so many people keep coming back. What I appreciate most is how walkable everything feels. Vail Village and Lionshead are beautifully designed, with pedestrian streets, alpine architecture, and enough restaurants, shops, and patios that you can happily spend hours wandering after the lifts close. The atmosphere feels polished without being overly formal, and it has always reminded me of a lively European mountain town. On the mountain, the scale is almost difficult to comprehend. Between the impeccably groomed front side, the legendary Back Bowls, and Blue Sky Basin, there is enough terrain to keep you exploring for days. I especially remember the feeling of looking out across the bowls and realizing just how much skiing was still available, even after days on the mountain. If I have one criticism, it is that Vail can feel crowded. The resort does an impressive job moving people with its lift system, but its popularity is impossible to ignore. Even so, once you spread out across more than 5,000 acres, it is remarkably easy to find great skiing. Another advantage is how accessible the area is. Being along the I-70 corridor makes Vail much easier to reach from Denver than Aspen, particularly during the winter when Eagle and Aspen flights can be less predictable. I also like that Beaver Creek is just down the road, making it easy to mix two outstanding ski areas into the same trip. Vail is just as enjoyable after the snow melts. The golf is excellent, and the surrounding mountains are perfect for fly fishing, rafting, hiking, and simply spending time outdoors. It is one of those rare destinations that feels just as special in July as it does in January. Ski vacations are a luxury, and Vail is one of the most expensive places to enjoy one. Even so, if you're looking for incredible terrain, a beautiful village, and an easy place to bring family or friends, it is hard to think of a better choice. I have loved every visit, and I hope to be back many more times.

We spent most of our time walking through the little shops in the center and visiting the history museum (free by the way). A beautiful breeze can truly make a difference on a hot summer day, but enjoyed the experience!
