Rafael rents a chair inside of The Crimson Barbershop, a compact space across from the Post Office on Magnolia, east of Whitsett. The shop is clean and comfortable, and you can park on the streets. Rafael is a super nice dude and he is comfortable with the conversation while doing a fantastic job on your hair (and/or beard). I've waited a week to do this review so I can see how it grew out, and it's clear that Rafael is detail-oriented and strong with the shears. I have been cut and lined up twice by the guy and each time I leave satisfied and refreshed. When you sign up for an appointment it says about 45 minutes, but it usually takes around an hour because he's very thorough with the haircut. I've been cutting my own hair for twenty years, and I've always thought that it looked great. After getting a full service cut and shave from Rafael, however, I now realize that my own hair cutting has NOT looked great, it has looked passable. The haircut I got from Rafael looked GREAT. I didn't really know exactly what I wanted when I sat down, but after a little chat, we solidified the look I was going for, and he nailed it perfectly. Sharp lines, great shape...just a really solid mens haircut. It really surpassed my expectations. The straight razor shave was great too, he took my beard from full growth down to the skin, with no nicks, no razor burn, not problems at all. Super solid all around cut and shave. The experience here with Rafael made me change my thinking about hair cuts...I tossed away my clipper at home, and I'll be returning here to get trimmed and lined up next time I need it.
