Littlerock / A.V. The luckiest place to have car trouble ever! Three hundred miles into a trip to New York my cousin's van started leaking oil at the rate of a quart per 150 miles. He made a huge mess of my driveway when he came to pick me up. We suspected the rear main seal was the culprit. A significant repair requiring a professional mechanic. Being a local A.V. resident, I am familiar with the Valco Transmission location off of the 138 in Littlerock and I suggested that my cousin take his van there. Immediately upon entering the office we were greated by smiling faces and a few hounds that were all remarkable in personality... humans and canines alike! :-) I explained the oil leak problem and within 20 minutes they confirmed our suspicion that it was a failed rear main seal. They gave us a great quote and we left it overnight. My cousin had very expensive equipment,including a $10,000 electric mountain bike called the "Stealth Bomber"in the van, so the fully gated and secure facility was very reassuring. No worries at all. With a full day of installing a new main seal, requiring the entire transmission to be removed as well as a failing motor mount and a much needed transmission filter with fluid flush, we were on our way. Not only was the price more than fair, they fully inspected the entire drive train for any potential problems and assured us that the 12 year / 145,000 mile old van was ready for a coast to coast round trip. Talk about piece of mind! The reason I know that we were indeed lucky to be near this family owned & operated company when we discovered such a serious problem is that, in the past, I have had mechanical failures in a one mechanic town and had to pay dubble for sub-standard work while waiting several days for chineese parts. First job taken to Valco was early 2000's. A New Process 435 transmission rebuild, r/r at home. Still working after ALOT of heavy use and hauling. Second job was the rebuild of a New Process 205 transfer case again r/r at home. Again this has done yeoman service in a work truck still in use. Showed up at their doorstep with with a Honda that had a engine code for a problem with gear ratio. Given a courtesy consult and have rolled down the road without a hitch. Have to say they earned my 5 stars. read more

We had our transmission done with them, and it needed to be done again because it went bad, they changed the fan clutch and it was the wrong one, then the thing that marks if it's on drive or reversed doesn't show anymore.. I wish I could give a zero star rating. Joe the owner called my Dad an asshole. He has taken over 6 months rebuild a 1965 Falcon transmission. 3 attempts and none of them resulted in a working transmission. They are very unprofessional, their office is full of barking dogs and the customer service is nonexistence. They are rude and irrate every time asked to refund $900 for a job not completed. They have a number of lawsuits filed on them at this time. I have spoken to 2 other individuals personally that have had the same issue with this company. They will not finish the job or give your money back for their mess ups. They are the only transmission company in Littlerock but I would say don't go for convenience go for quality else where even if that means out of the area. Please do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

Let me begin with this shop has been in business for many years and doesn't have any reviews. That should have been a clue to me. I spoke with the woman, one of the owners, who quoted a price of no more than $800.00 after we were on the phone while she found the parts for my car. She said that it might vary by a few dollars and she could have it done in a day, no more than 2. I brought my car to this place of business, if we can call it that, there were 11 dogs in the office and her, in a chair. Please, let me reiterate, this is a business that has been here for years. I was assured that my car would only be a day or 2 , to give them a call later in the day to check on the progress. I called at 4:30p.m. after leaving the car at 8:00a.m. I was told that they hadn't looked at it, but, would tomorrow. Day 1,down. Called the next day at 3:30p.m., was told I was being difficult, why was I calling! They were working on it. I called day 3 , 12:30p.m. and asked what time I could pick up my car since I assumed it was done. Well, she unleashed a tirade at me, that I was expecting too much, that I was constantly calling and bothering her! ! Really! I had my husband call her later that day. She said I had been pestering her and the car was now $1300.00 because they found other problems. My husband said he would like to see the things that were replaced and wanted the box of parts. Never got them. I called the next day, now day 4,and was told it wasn't done. I said I will just pick up my car, she responded with a belly laugh and said "good luck, the parts are everywhere". After telling her I was going to report her to the Better Business Bureau and take her to small claims court, she said it would be done the next evening. I was told to come at 5 p.m. My husband and I arrived on time. She agreed like she had never done anything unethical! We paid and she, really, threw my keys to me from across the room. When I started my car, there was no gas in it, I left it with a full tank of premium. I barely got it down the street to a gas station. This business should be avoided at all costs. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would! This was absolutely one of the worst experiences I have had at a car/transmission repair shop!! I can't express it enough!!! STAY AWAY! 1st off I AM NOT a cussing man but the owner used every foul word possible on me!! I don't care who you are you don't do that to customers. Now about the work that WAS NOT DONE AND THE DAMAGE DONE TO MY CLASSIC 1973 4 wheel drive Bronco! 1st off they "supposedly" serviced my transmission and fixed a leak in 2 different places all for 325.00. They DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO CLEAN OFF THE TRANSMISSION PAN AND AREAS THEY WORKED ON!! Who works on a car, supposedly repairs the leaks and it does not even looked like it was touched AT ALL! They said they did not joy ride it yet upon questioning, THEY admitted that 3 different people drove it. "To test it"!! Now I get it but when I see that the shocks have been fully compressed AND ONE OF THE REAR LEAF SPRING PACKS IS FRESHLY BROKEN WITH 2 LEAFS SHEARED RIGHT OFF because it was over compressed I KNOW SOMONE THRASHED ON MY TRUCK AND WAS TRULY JOY RIDING IT!! ALSO I HAVE twin sticks to put it into 4 wheel drive, the front stick was in the 4 wheel drive position meaning whoever was using it didn't shift it back!!! NOW I HAVE TO PURCHASE new rear springs!!! I leave the shop and drive about 2 miles and smoke starts coming from under the truck at a stop and it's transmission fluid leaking on the exhaust system. I drive it back and that's when I discover it's never been cleaned and it's pouring transmission fluid out! They offer to keep it overnight and look at it in the lift in the morning! As I arrive that morning the owner with the potty mouth has zero intention of admitting any wrongdoing and totally cussed me up one side and down the other ...mind you I did not and do not cuss. I told him don't talk to me that way. They didn't do anything and we all decided my truck (according to them was a pile of rubbish) I knew I wasn't winning any arguments with them that morning. So I decide to leave BUT before do I checked THE LEVEL OF THE FLUID BEFORE DRIVING HOME AND IT was 1-2 quarts low!! They said oh I know he filled it because of the empty containers they threw away the night before. Well this freshly serviced 325.00 transmission was WAY LOW! I drove off, got home decided to clean it off myself to check for leaks! GUESS WHAT!!?? The bolts to the transmission pan were not at all tightened down AND 2 were finger loose!! I could easily spin with my fingers! I've had a surgery and I can't do anything about it now but my transmission is leaking from the fresh gasket and 2 of the bolts that this awesome shop didn't tighten! WHAT A JOKE ---stay away NOW I HAVE TO SPEND 400.00 on new rear leaf springs, spend another 125.00 for a REAL TRANSMISSION SERVICE and see if I can recover from the childish verbal abuse from the owner! Of ya they have like 10 dogs in the office and it absolutely smells like the dogs are in charge! They probably have better manners & are more honest the owners! So the 325 transmission service will cost me an additional 425 for new rear leaf springs and another 150 or more for a new transmission service to repair the seal on the gasket as well as the other minor leak!! What a joke i threw away 325, got verbally abused, got broken rear leaf springs and who knows what else I will find when I take it to a REAL TRANSMISSION SHOP THAT ACTUALLY IS HONEST AND CARES AND RESPECTS THEIR CUSTOMERS! There is a saying: You can sheer a sheep many times BUT you can only skin them once! I WAS going to have all my transmissions serviced on the other 4 cars we own ....guess where I'm never going again!!! Total amount lost!! 325+425+150+time and frustration!? Almost 1000.00$$$ joke of a business! Drive by and wonder why there are no cars out front!!?? NOW YOU KNOW WHY!! read more

These people were terrific at first and seemed to go out of their way to help us out in an unfortunate situation....but a year and two months later, we are in need of a new transmission. Apparently their work only came with a 12,000 mile warranty. So we have just replaced our transmission for a second time in a little over a year with a GM transmission which carries a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty. The cost...the same. Great if you want a minimal warranty at a factory part price and don't mind replacing your transmission annually! read more
