What can't I say about this place....! for starters let's talk about the greeting from the rude customer service..... it was not a great way to start the day at 8am . Then the wait was "FOREVER" and when I say Forever I'm not exaggerating.... It was 2 hrs just to get in an be seen, then an additional 1hr for service this place is Horrible. Then to top it all off they knowing that people are waiting Bord in the waiting room they don't provide you with a guest WiFi service, so you're waiting stuck doing nothing for 3 hrs. My experience with D.R Valdez was excellent. She was friendly,knowledgeable and professional. I had a pterygium removed from my eye and I am happy with the results. The guy that checks you in before you see D.R was also friendly and very professional. The office staff was friendly except for one person in the front office. There are always a couple of miserable and unprofessional employees no matter where you go. I went in for my last appointment and I said good morning to the older unattractive Hispanic female that works in the front office and she didn't say good morning back to me. She sits at the desk in the far left corner of the office. She looks very menacing, angry and lethargic. She needs to find a Joe she can work from home. Adam Hsu, MD from Valdez Eye Center told me the mole on my left eyelid resting on my eyeball is "pretty big" then followed by laughs telling me it is "cosmetic" more than anything and I quote "psychological" (I see the world in a completely different light from this man). He then followed by not only telling me he could only remove the top portion of it which is false but also told me I can watch it grow (after having had told him I had it over two years) and was unconcerned to offer surgery. Only later did he state, "We have two options, Watch it grow or do surgery." I rejoined, "Well what would you do if you had a mole on your eyeball for over two years? Watch it grow?" *A professional dermatologist gave me a first opinion from Honest Dermatology Skin and Laser Center in Ventura, Los Angeles, CA saying, "It is absolutely not Cosmetic, interferes with your eyeball, and is right over your tear duct." Don't go here! I went to have my eyes checked in June 2024. They fitted me for glasses and got it wrong TWO Times!!! They wanted me to pay for the third pair of glasses. Not impressed with the optical department. Optician was more interested in speaking than listening. Seems fresh out of school and knows the book answers but not a lot of real life experience. Front office staff had incorrect information on their records for my name/address and they acted like it was my fault - acting harried, bothered and uninterested. Took my mom for her vision exam and let me just say, checking in made me feel like a kindergarten in trouble. That front office lady needs a vacation or a snicker bar for sure. She was rude and made me feel uncomfortable in front of other people behind me. She gave attitude to the rest of the people behind me also for checking in and she was super busy to say hi. The doctor was good and so professional but his helper who had my mom read letters was not. Hard to understand what she was saying and she zoomed from one test to another and next thing you know we were done feeling so confused in the waiting area. My husband was a patient of Dr. Valdez. She performed both of his cataract surgeries as well as putting in a stent in his right eye for glaucoma. When it turned out that he had macular degeneration, she referred him to an outstanding retina specialist. The SOLE reason that he is not still her patient is that her practice is not part of the network for his new medical group. My husband is very reluctant to trust medical professionals but he has absolute faith and confidence in Dr. Valdez and her associate, Dr. Lee. My father made an appointment a month ago at 10:00 am and the nurse said it takes 1 1/2 hours to be seen with an appointment. I have seen that the elderly are not taken care of very well. A nurse closed the door on an elderly person walking behind her. They really need to be more attentive to the elderly and not make them wait so long with an appointment. read more

Im writing in Regards of my wife she Had dr Valdez do a cataract surgery on Her left eye about 15 months ago and Dr told her if she paid $ 1500.00 dollars for the super duper lens i would not have to wear glasses. So we said ok to that and after that Her vision and was awful So dr Valdez did some lazer surgery to clean up some of the cataract Replacement membrane. Even after that she still couldn't see Right! So after coming back to Dr Valdez and saying she could not figure it out she Suggested i call pacific eye institute and we did. Pacific eye said she needed her Replacement cleaned up again. They suggested they would of not used the lens that was used!! And that it was a inferior lens? So after 15 months she has had 2 more lazer treatments in upland. Maybe another one soon as she is still having issues. Dr Valdez also stated to my wife she had another cataract on the other eye that needed surgery soon? These drs at Pacific 2 different drs said she is not even close to having to worrying. So in closing my wife is no better after surgery 15 months ago!! Even worse over time! Now my wife wishes she would of filed a LAWSUIT against dr Valdez. Hopefully in the future my wifes eye will be better! for now she has to wear 2 pair of glasses and the eye still gives here trouble/ blurry/ something floating in it!! So my mom has been going here for about a year or 2, and EVERYTIME, she goes in. She is always RUDELY greeted by the front "staff." They are so unreliably rude it should be embarrassing for the doctors who work at this facility. She had said that the doctor's have always been nice. But unfortunately, the rude/bitter/sour attitudes of the front desk staff can completely make it a horrible experience. Why work with people if you hate people?? Common sense. One time when my mom had went there, a receptionist wanted her to already pay her copay upfront without having an decency to give her a proper greeting. When did you have to pay copays upfront before you even walk in the door? Absolutely ridiculous. I wish I had gotten the names of the rude staff to blast their names on here. I have used Dr. Valdez for many years. Everything always went well till I ended up getting a cataract done. I have not been able to see properly since. (about 1 1/2 years). After I was told by Dr. Valdez it was ok to buy new glasses, I went to Costco (where I always go) to get my new glasses. I still can not see. I went back to Costco and they did a second set at no charge... I still could not see... I went back to Dr. Valdez where her guy they does they eye exam tried to get me to go to his relatives shop in a different city to get better care. I declined and ended up paying triple of Costco's price for glasses that 1. were the wrong color and 2. I still could not see out of them. So, the guy that sales the glasses became argumentative with me about the color and said it was my fault because when I did they eye exam I answered the questions which I saw better. They did end up changing the prescription as to try to help me. This did not work! I was re examined my Dr. Valdez again. She then Told me I had a bad Retina and would require surgery. I ended up going to a specialist. The specialist told me my Retina was perfect. I went back to Dr. Valdez and all she could say was OH.. Hummm. Since I have moved out of the High Desert mainly to find better doctors. Turns out my sun glasses and day glasses are different prescriptions. The ones from Dr. Valdez. Today I am seeing perfect! Dr. Valdez need to get a grip on the people she employs. I am sure she is a competent doctor. I have been going to Valdez Eye Center for many years. I need to be checked for diabetic damage every six months. In July of last year Dr Valdez recommended I look into cataract surgery as my eyes were getting worse. I had my first eye done in November and the second one after Christmas. I am amazed at the results. The whole procedure was very easy with very little discomfort or complications. Dr Valdez is very thorough in her examinations and follow ups. I would highly recommend Valdez Eye Center for any of jour vision concerns. By the way, I have worn glasses since the fifth grade with very strong prescriptions. My right eye went from 20/70 to 20/30, and my left eye from 20/60 to 20/25. I am still going to have glasses, but only because I don't like the hassle of readers. I called to make an appointment because my wife is a patient here. The receptionist was less than helpful and made it sound like I was bothering her valuable time. I was placed on hold several times and drug out my phone call to the point I just hung up. I later went inside to pick my wife's glasses while she was at work and the staff was "okay". I came here because of an emergency. The selection is very small. The staff is so-so. The wait was crazy long! About an hour after our appt time for a routine eye exam. No apologies or reason why it took so long. Dispensing dept, eh. The gentleman made me feel like I shouldn't have "good ins". Would i recommend this place? YES! Dr. Valdez and the staff are very knowledgeable and professional. On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly staff who consistently checked up on me and asked if I was doing well. Furthermore, I did not have to wait past my appointment time. This is about Dr Valdez's staff. The billing leaves a lot to be desired. They could not or would not bill my secondary health insurance, despite my inquiries on why it was not being done, and they repeatedly sending me a bill, and me explaining over and over that they had not billed my secondary insurance company. In this respect they are totally unacceptable. The reception staff was totally indifferent and disinterested in rectifying the situation. Patients deserve better than indifference. read more

Had to wait 2 hrs. after appointment time to see a doctor. Then doctor took under 10 mins. to exam my eyes and come up with a new perscription. Paid for a full exam, got very little care. Most exams consist of more than putting a machine in front of your eyes asking if 1 or 2 is better for just 3 or 4 times and then writing out a perscription. I don't trust the doctor I saw and am going to hold off getting new glasses until I can go somewhere else and get a perscription that I trust. There were 5 other people wating here at least 2 hrs. and this was all at the start of the day. They may tell you that they have hired several more doctors but there was only one doctor there read more
