Beautiful restaurant. Flavors were pretty good overall. I had the small bowl of noodles with buffalo chicken, broccoli, parmesan, and avocado ceasar. Portion was smaller than a normal child's portion but prices like a pricier adult portion anywhere else. Don't bother with the small bowl unless yiu really just aren't hungry at all or are feeding a very small child. The rice in my husband's bowl was pretty dry so I recommendthe noodles. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good with a lot of chocolate and good consistency. No drinks other than bottled were available. We came in over an hour before closing and they'd already cleaned out all the other drinks and weren't making some of their food like the coconut chicken anymore. Looks like they were basically ready to close over an hour early. The girl who helped us was friendly and helpful otherwise. Spent $58 on two items at this place and will never order from here again . My açaí bowl was $19 and missing the majority of the toppings- it was partial frozen and the rest was like soup. No pb, no strawberries, no bananas. It did have the coconut and some Nutella. The buffalo wrap was beyond bland and of course they didn't include the ranch , which would have potentially made it edible. We like to try local restaurants whenever out of town. Instead of Chipotle, we opted for Vale. It's a combination of Fresh Kitchen and Chipotle but without the steak. There were a few things I felt could be better. The store made lemonades had no real taste. I got the braised beef and although it was submerged in sauce, it was still a bit on the dry side. The atmosphere is great. There is music playing but not very loud so that you can hear your conversation. The service was awesome and I even got 10percent off for checking in. Given that there were other restaurants in the area, we walked around and settled on this place. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting much. It seemed to me to be a healthy version of Chipotle. Not exactly what I wanted to eat when I wanted to have something more filling, more fattening, but eh, we were on a time constraint, so we tried this place. Have to say whoa baby, it was a mélange of flavors that impressed me. I got a sweet earth bowl, which is one of their signature dishes. It had sweet potato noodles, roasted broccoli, teriyaki chicken, and curry honey mustard on the side. He built his own bowl with I forget what. Vale Food offers something really different to the Tallahassee area. They are a health food restaurant that serves mostly fast food. They have one side of the restaurant dedicated to hot food and the other side of the restaurant. I like their inside setup. It's really good spacing, especially during this pandemic. Today I tried a açaí berry smoothie and it was really good. I added protein and honey for a little sweetness. I've recently switched to more of a liquid diet so this place it perfect for me. I'm told that the protein I ordered was unavailable. I didn't want 2x the same breaded vegan tenders, and nothing other than the shrimp appealed to me. I asked for the shrimp, and was then harassed for the $2 difference. Who: 1 doesn't tell a customer ahead of time that they were out of something; 2 insist that a customer bears the burden when the company, not the customer, was out of a product; and 3, has an attitude when a customer refuses to allow the rude employee to force them into accepting less. I blame the owner/management for the rest, someone needs to go in there and make sure it's cleaned pr show them how it's supposed to be cleaned. This is my go to when I'm near campus and want something healthy yet satisfying! It's always quick and fresh. They have two sizes, regular ($8, one protein, one base (rice, carb etc), and one veggie) and large ($11, comes with two of each). The large is definitely worth the value since you get twice as much food and it's easy to take leftovers. You can take it to go or eat there (inside or out). They have different stuff from day to day, but some of my favorites are the cauliflower, sriracha chicken meatballs, and their buffalo oomph or tofu (they always have vegan options!). Their rice and quinoa is always solid, and they have other options like sweet potato noodles etc. If you're gluten free or vegan, they definitely have plenty of options for you. I always enjoy whatever I get and feel full but not sick after. The main perk here is that they serve lots of healthy options that are still seasoned well, so you don't feel like you have to choose between healthy and yummy. It's also pretty affordable relative to other things in the area. Lastly, I LOVE that all of their packaging is compostable - I always feel guilty getting take out from places that are still using styrofoam containers (since it's not recyclable).
