So rest assured the older reviews about bad service don't apply anymore. My wife and I came in to rent a storage facility but didn't know exactly what size we needed. The woman at the front desk was very helpful, patient and kind. She explained the terms very clearly and went above and beyond. The prices are pretty reasonable. There are cheaper options around, but VSS is in a nice area and you have full access to your unit 24/7 including holidays. It's a gated storage facility with surveillance camera and optional facility-managed insurance. They also let you use their moving truck for $10 if you book it within 30 days of renting a unit. Which is an insane deal. All together, we're very happy with the service here. read more

The most socially awkward people I've ever encountered run this place. Completely impersonal to the point where it's hard to understand what they're telling you when communicating the rules and fine print of the rental agreement. I vacated my unit my unit 20 days before my month was up and figured I'd let them know so they could use the unit. I had already paid for the month and knew I wouldn't get any money back for the time not used. However, I was suppose to get my security deposit back but the lady told me unless I leave my lock on the unit for 10 more days I don't get my security deposit. Like excuse me... but I'm turning the unit back to u early but because I'm doing that, I'm being penalized??? GTFOH. Also, I've seen the lady be completely rude to people on the phone while in the office. People don't understand what she's saying and then she gets annoyed with them as if it's their fault. Unethical and incompetent office worker! Wouldn't give us the $35 deposit back ... but they were paid for the whole month and I let them have it back 12 days early! (Yes it was immaculate ... Took pictures for my own documentation) We paid through the 20th of each month for our storage unit and when we had an opportunity to get a truck on the 7th we cleaned out the unit. Since it was a weekend, I planned to tell them after the weekend ... But they called me Monday morning asking about it!!! I guess they were looking at their video Anyway I told them we wouldn't need it the next month and Debbie, office woman, told me I had to complete the vacate form saying I was out on the 7th in order to get the deposit returned. At this point I had 12 days to notify them, and only 10 day notification is necessary. We did the form and I have emails from them saying it was received the 8th of the month. After much back and forth, they said I vacated before giving them 10 days notice ... All I should have done on the vacate form was say out by the 20th and it would have been fine. The way I did it, they were paid through the 20th ... And then they could turn around and rent it to someone else .... So getting paid twice for the same unit! I wasn't asking them for any pro-rated rent, just my little $35 deposit. Both an incompetent office worker, who told me the wrong process AND an unethical company who knows they didn't lose any money on my storage unit ... in fact, they were able to rent it out again for the same time period and keep my deposit! read more

We were moving and the stress was enough to drive anyone insane. We realized the day after we finally got everything into the new house (and everything out of our unit) that storage rent was due yesterday. We had been a few days late the month before, too (only had it a total of 3 months). The lady at the desk did not charge us late fees any time even though she totally could have. I utilized Valencia Self Storage for several years to store my extra stuff when I moved out of Valencia. Overall, clean facility with easy access via the gate code (only had it once when my gate wouldn't open for me) any time of the day. Over the few years, the cost of my storage did go up and they did give me warning for each time it did. The staff within Valencia Self Storage II was helpful during my rental time and overall couldn't complain while I was a customer. I would only argue the cancellation policy that is not black/white and is favorable for them to keep your deposit. I filled out a word document of the form they have, put down my notice to vacate and they told me it was good to go with no problems. A month after leaving, I noticed I did not receive my deposit back via mail so I called in to inquire. I was bounced between Valencia Self Storage I and II answering questions. A gentleman at Self Storage I told me that I did not receive my deposit back because I "probably" did not give the proper notice. I asked him to clarify, as "probably" is not a sufficient answer in my book. He could not clarify the answer in which he directed me to call the number at Self Storage II. I did so and was told by the gentleman by Self Storage II that I gave proper notice and I will receive my deposit in the mail. I then received an email (not a call) from Kathleen the manager indicating I did not give 30 days notice and they would keep my deposit. I called her and told her that when I turned in my paperwork, nothing was said about 30 days, only 10 days and if that was the case, I would have paid an extra month so I could have extra time to remove my items from my the unit. If I was going to lose my money, might as well take the extra time. Her only response was that she would give me a credit next time I rented...clearly, that is not going to happen. Any storage place serves a basic function to store extra junk so what is different with Valencia Self Storage is the experience. If someone explained to me when I turned in my cancellation form that I needed to give more time, then okay, but that was clearly not the case and in fact the opposite. More importantly, I felt I was blatantly lied and mislead and for those reasons, I can not recommend Valencia Self Storage I/II or the other storage company they own, Castaic Self Storage. I will not utilize them ever again and will urge all my family and friends still living in Valencia not use them either. read more

Nice storage units. Available dolly in each "section". Easy to get to. Very safe. Lady who works there is so nice and sweet. Available restrooms--very clean. All in all, a great storage company! Never had issues with them whatsoever! read more

I have been utilizing this storage company for many years. They will quote you a price to start off with then send you a letter increasing your monthly rate. So either you pay an additional expense of moving or having you have to pay them an extra $20 per month. They suck!!! read more

This place needs to be investgated by the state. Ive been practiceing due diligence to pay my bill after the card they had on file was shut off due to fraud. I didnt get an follow up email until a week later saying they needed photos of my card. I sent them and never heard anything back. I then got emails saying there would be a fee so this morning I sent the pictures of my card again only to get an email from Debbie or Donna saying i need to pay cash tomorrow or they would be applying more fees and a lein to my unit. I had emailed them twice this morning already and once after recieving the email from this incredibly rude woman. I asked her to please check and she scorned me for writing to the wrong email. I WAS REPLYING TO THE EMAIL SENT TO ME! How is that the wrong email?! She proceeded to say i never sent anything and to send it to her email.Problem is i already sent pictures of my card to Kathleen twice who either lied to collect more fees from me or lied and didnt check her email. Then the woman who doesn't care about integrity tells me to call back and handle it tomorrow when they would then have a lean on my account. Are you serious!? Ive been trying to pay my bill for to the weeks!! Now i have to pay another fee because of your inconpetence? I wont take that crap. I then call the original location and spoke to a polite gentleman who look up my name and instantly found my emails. I sent them wheb i said i did and wad defrauded. I will be moving all my belongings to another unit ASAP! I will not deal with crooks. They also cut my lock a while back because alarms were going off in my unit andthe unut around mine and then they charged me for it. read more
