I had three very large and heavy horse blankets needing to be washed. My local laundry provider didn't have the big machines and recommended Valentine. I called and they told me they could do it for me or I could do it myself. I showed up a few minutes later and Iris happily greeted me, helping me unload, and asked if I wanted them in the dryer or hung dry (to protect waterproofing)! I've now been here three times, and overall, I like it and would recommend it. They keep it quite clean, and both the staff and the other customers that I've interacted with have all been reasonably friendly, respectful, and helpful. They're not jumping over each other to help, but if you need anything, just ask and they will take care of you promptly. (Frankly, the service feels a lot more genuine than in many modern establishments because there's no script that they're following, no rules about each customer being greeted withing 30 seconds of entering, etc... I hate the totally fake feeling that comes with all of that B.S.) I have two complaints. First, every machine takes ONLY quarters. When it can cost upwards of $10 for a load in the larger washers, that's more than a roll of quarters per load, just for the washer. I'm not complaining about the pricing -- I'm sure it's pretty comparable to other places in the area -- I'm complaining about HOW LONG it takes to put more than 40 quarters into a machine, especially one that's set to a very high standard of counterfeit detection. The first one I used last night rejected approximately 1/4 of my quarters on the first pass. Some quarters that I got out of the store's own change machine were never accepted, even after 4-5 attempts. Infuriating and time wasting. I'm all for ensuring that customers can continue to use cash if they desire, but how about getting a modern payment app that allows you to pay through your smart phone? I'm sure that the management doesn't want to give a payment processor a cut, plus it's currently an all-cash business, and an app would force them to report everything that gets processed that way, which would probably be 90 - 95% of the laundromat within days of installation. From my perspective, the fees are just the cost of doing business in the modern world, and I'd be willing to pay 25 cents more per load to make up for it. Beef #2: I will grant that we're in the midst of an epic heat wave at the moment, but they might as well not have any air conditioning at all for all the difference it made. It was insanely hot in there, and I truly feel for the employees. Some of them aren't so young, and it can't possibly be a good idea for them to be doing physical labor in those conditions. Give anyone over 55 paid time off for a few days, or change their job description to be less physically demanding until things cool off. And I sincerely hope that there's cool water available for them. The first time I went was during the winter, and it was still a little stickier inside than I would have liked. Clean and airy. The washers are expensive, but we ARE in the dessert and it was cheaper than paying a hotel. If I lived in the area, I'd have to get a job there to afford washing my clothes. The dryers were less costly and did the job quickly. I'm a germaphobe and even though it was clean I was wiping everything down with my own wipes. For me a clean faciilty is all that is necessary. It's located in a nice strip mall, so it felt more safe and secure than others I've been at. 5. It's affordable. I have never been to a laundromat as nice as this one! The place is very clean with very nice machines. The attendant is alway willing to help. On my last visit, I wasn't sure how long to dry a heavy bedspread. She pointed out the best size dryer to use and how many minutes to dry on medium heat. She was precisely correct in the recommended time. On another visit, I had 3 beds of heavy blankets and bedspreads. The attendant advised me to use the GIANT washer as it would be more economical. When it finished washing, she helped me distribute everything to the appropriate dryers and set the time. When the dryers were done, she quickly came over and helped me fold everything!!!! I always enjoy coming to this excellent laundry/dry cleaner. Great licatipn...always perfect, clean and staff so kind and friendly. Great service from Iris and owner Karen. I only come occasionally when I need to launder large comforters, bed linens and the one super large washer they have is great and only $18.50 and 30 mins start to finish. A bargain! I was able to dry the huge load in 3 of their large dryers for only about $1.00 per dryer...24mins total. Clean linens....nice place to wait and in same retail space as Albertsons, CVS and more at Washington & Ave. 42. Easy parking and fast access to those in Palm Desert, La Quinta and Ralph's gas station, Honegoofs, Big O Tires, KFC and Starbucks all right there. Thanks Valentine's!! You guys rock! read more

I'm very disappointed from what I hear about how you treat customers. First off one of your customers Irma is one of your great customers that gives you business and has been for a very long time and I find out today your treated my aunt Irma the worst today . And I saw the video and I'm very hurt and sad by how you hurt her and told her to leave and never come back and Maggie your employee was involved and said the same words also. I also speak Spanish and I also speak English. I know my aunts English is not perfect. But I felt like that video was very racist and heated by it. And I'm sorry Maggie does not like to help or let people use the bathroom for any reason or if she does not want to clean up after customers or do the work. But I was extremely hurt and my mother and father saw the whole thing and my father is a white man and he was disgusted by it along with my Mexican mother. Valentine Laundry in Palm Desert on Washington is definitely a 5 star laundry. My first time, not sure of procedure. I was welcomed and helped (without asking) to operate the machines. Karen, manager, was so helpful...she made my experience truly remarkable. This place was spotlessly clean, there was access to detergent, 5 different brands. 4/30 Sadly disappointed by Valentine Laundry employee named Lucy. I entered the building around 7:38pm after driving here from Rancho Mirage because this is or was my preferred laundromat and also the one I depend on since the closing time coincides perfect with when I get off. Sign clearly says last wash is 7:45 and normally is the time I come in to do a load (always before out of consideration for staff) . I understand wanting to go home early but a complete disregard in wasting patrons time is concerning and reason I'll reconsider coming here. read more

I used to love this place.... Today we came to due our laundry. We stop in in every two weeks. Again one family is holding all of the dyers hostage. They had 4 loads of laundry which is fine but then she started with 8 dryers but every time one opened up the took it. They are at 11 dryers and the whole place is now waiting for them to give up a dryers so they can get there close done. I talked with the two staff members on duty but they couldn't careless. This not cool, I'll probably start going to the San Pablo location. Larry, Thank you for your quick response. But your staff response was "what do you want us to do about it!".
