I ate here as a child. Haven't eaten here for a long time. Wow did it fall off. Wife paid 23 dollars for dry grilled chicken and broccoli in butter soup. I thought paying 24 dollars for the Friday discounted veal and run of the mill spaghetti was overpriced. I couldn't imagine paying 27 for that veal parm normally. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by Valentino's. Traveling from NY to York, we decided to stop for a bite to eat. Valentino's is right on 222 so we didn't have to leave the highway and it's easy to get back on. They do have gf options. I could get any personal pizza with the cauliflower crust. I opted for the veggie one. Broccoli, onions, peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes. With real mozzarella! Stretchy and delicious. Yum! My husband got the beef wrap with fries and cole slaw. All was tasty and enough for two meals. Total price before tip was $35. It's old style Italian yet very clean. Service was fast and friendly. I definitely recommend this place! read more

My experience at this restaurant was appalling. I ordered a burger and the rest of my family ordered pasta. The pasta was wet and soggy and mushy. My mother only ate the shrimp out of her order, and my sister only had two bites of her pasta until we had enough. Our waiter came over and asked and I quote "how da food taste" I very badly wanted to say not good. But the sincere look in his eyes made me say it was good. After that, I noticed our waiter. Our waiter had his long hair dragging, and even touched our garlic bread not once BUT TWICE! I noticed after I ate the garlic bread and realized I might have eaten a piece of this man's hair. I will never come here again. I hope the best for this place! read more

I'm a local and have been coming here since I was a kid. Best old school Pizza in Kutztown and a nice place for a good old Italian dinner. My wife and I love the Chicken Piccata and if you are really hungry go for the Chicken Parm, it takes up you whole plate! Great location right off 222 if you just passing by as well read more

I wanted to have leftovers to take home, so I ordered a "small" Stromboli, their medium size, for $27.00, which the restaurant says will serve four to five. I'm sure that is true; however, the number it will serve is meaningless. What matters is the number it will satisfy, and I have a very hard time believing it would satisfy four people with average appetites. Adding insult to injury, the waitress asked if I would care for marinara sauce on the side. I accepted, only to find an additional $2.00 tacked onto my bill for "sauce." I told the waitress to tell the owner or manager of the business that I thought the food was good, but very pricy compared to other, similar, places I have patronized. I added that to charge $2.00 for sauce for a $27.00 Stromboli was abusive. She returned a few minutes later and said that she had told the manager what I had said. She also told me that the manager likes to speak personally with customers about complaints, so I could discuss it with her "up front," if I cared to. Seems to me, it was more the manager's responsibility to seek me than mine to seek her, but I did and, when I found her, I repeated my complaint. She replied that "At Wegman's they weigh everything and charge for everything," to which I replied that hers must be the only pizzeria that considers itself a competitor of Wegman's. At that point, a man behind the counter moved toward me with raised voice. He waved a $20 bill at me and told me to take it, if that would make me happy. When I replied that I wasn't looking for a refund or trying to game the business, I was only making a point they should consider for the betterment of the business, he got even louder and more animated, so I ignored him, turned my back, and left the establishment. The service was terrible. We waited over an hour for mozzarella sticks and a strombolli. We asked for a ham and cheese Stromboli only ham and American cheese. It came out with ricotta cheese on it. Not once during the time when we were waiting did our server come to check on us and see if we needed anything. Been coming here for years, never was dissatisfied until we ordered takeout the other night, 4/15/19....I ordered the large chicken parm sub, all it was was chicken fingers on a hot dog roll, with a slice of American cheese on top, NO sauce! Ugh! My husband got a cheesesteak, the meat tasted like canned meat, very soggy, he couldn't even finish it. My one son got chicken fingers, you would think it would come with fries? Nope. And my other sons blt was nothing but soggy tomatoes and fatty bacon! Very disappointing! I don't know who was cooking that night but they really dropped the ball. Went on a Thursday for lunch. Was not crowded. Looked clean. Ate here about 20 years ago. Had a meat personal pizza and a focaccia Coppola, mozzarella with tomato sandwich which came with fries and was a lunch special. The meals were very, very tasty. Portion for the money was very good. Valentino's is one of my regular places to eat and drink at. Monday nights they have .20 wings (but make sure you get there early because they have been running out recently.) The pizza is actually pretty decent and their sandwiches are awesome as well. The food overall is pretty good. The bar is limited with draft beers. If you are looking for your typical low end beer, tinos will definitely have it on draft. They do carry a wide selection of bottled beer though. The bartenders are friendly, as well as the wait staff. Prices at Valentinos is very reasonable. Again the type of Italian food you will get here is typical of Berks County. My only criticism is they tend to close the bar at random times. One night they'll stay open till 12 and the next night they will decided to close by 9:30. Overall Valentinos is a nice place to grab good food and inexpensive drinks read more

Tried a cheeseburger which only came with pickles,ketchup, and chips. It was just average. My spouse had lobster bisque which was good and ravioli which was not good. My youngest had a personal cheese calzone which was huge but literally only had cheese in it. She didn't like it. My middle daughter ordered lobster ravioli in vodka sauce which was awful and she sent it back. Finally my oldest daughter had Maryland blue crab ravioli which she thought was average. The garlic bread wasn't very good and bread sticks were extremely chewy. We had a chocolate peanut butter landslide for dessert which tasted pre-made and just taken out of the freezer. I contacted the business on 6/06/2019 to complain about the product I received. I had ordered 3 hoagie sandwiches, but they were all on French baguette bread with the contents spilling out, because the bread was too narrow to contain the contents. I called and asked to speak with the manager and a man came onto the phone who identified himself as the manager. I explained that the bread was too narrow to contain the contents of the sandwiches and he became confrontational and argumentative. He told me to return the hoagies, but I explained that they had already been consumed, after which he told me to still return them. He then said that I am always complaining and to never return to the restaurant again. I then requested his name, but he refused to provide it and asked me repeatedly for my name. I called again later on that day to speak with the employee, Joe, that I normally place my orders with and asked for the name and contact information of the owner, but he also refused to provide me with the owner's contact information, told me the owner's name is Sal and said, "He's the owner & I stand behind him 100% no matter what he says because he's like family to me". It's very sad that these people are so unprofessional, because I am a regular, weekly customer and do not deserve to be treated in such a rude manner. For a supposed manager to refuse to provide his name is absolutely ridiculous and for other employees to excuse and support that behavior is sickening. The owner of Valentino's Pizzeria in Kutztown, PA should be ashamed to allow his employees to attack and be rude towards paying customers without facing any repercussions or accountability for their actions. I'll never again return to that restaurant, because they fail to realize that without the customers, they wouldn't have a paycheck! read more

Family and I eat here weekly 20+yrs. Service is quick and professional. Food is all very good. Pizza is excellent. Sicilian is very good. Cold sandwiches are very good. Cheesecakes are excellent. All stromboli are excellent. Soups are very good. Antipasto and salads excellent. The only appetizer that I won't order again is calamari, probably frozen thus chewy. Never got a dessert just too full for that. Mixed drinks are very good. Big selection of beer and taps deliver fresh beer. We've gone to all of the local places that are ok but V's is consistently pleasing with reasonable pricing. read more

I doubt it's made there, tasted frozen and the crust and cheese were way too even throughout, processed? So many pizza shops in and around Kutztown, that you'd wonder why I'd bother going to Valentino's? well, this place really several steps above the rest. We go there periodically when the pasta cravings happen! Valentino's has the typical Italian restaurant fare, but it's good. Dinners include a fresh salad (thankfully not made with whit lettuce!) made with romaine lettuce, a few dukes, olives, cheese. It's quite good. I have a few face things, pasta with clam sauce or manicotti, chicken or eggplant parma. maybe not gourmet, but really very good . Comes with garlic bread or plain Italian bread. Also, a nice little bar so you can enjoy your meal like a grown up, with a glass of wine or beer. My Chopped Sirloin was better then average as was my wife's Gnocchi, the portions were both pretty large. My daughter's pizza was really a cut above a lot of the pizza places I have stopped at while traveling and the portion was huge for being on the kids menu. I have never been a big fan of this place. I think the pasta is just ok and the pizza is nothing special either. They used to have a nice salad bar but the was about it. The service was never all that special and it wasn't like the prices were amazing. It certainly could be worse. Valentinos is a great place for family dinner, somewhere to go after a sports event, or for great carry out service. We just had our entire wrestling team there after picture night, and it was excellent. The food was authentic and came out quickly, and the staff did a great job with all the kids.
