Chef Antonio is an amazing chef and put on a 5 course menu for Valentine's Day for only $90 a couple; including a bottle of wine! You absolutely can't beat that, or his great cooking, so I made a reservation immediately. Everything was absolutely perfect. Alfredo's Ristorante is one of the few Italian places I've been where you can go to have a nice Italian meal and some fellow who goes by the name on the sign will come out and converse with the patrons in a thick Italian accent. In short: Alfredo's is *authentic*, and you can tell not just by the food but by the people and ambience (which, though very small-town, is nice). Like every Italian place in the Eastern PA area, they also offer pizza (it's alright) and cheesesteaks. Those aren't what you come here for, however. Come for the dinner entrees and you will not be disappointed. The only reason Alfredo's isn't 5 stars is the pizza: it's just alright and could stand to be more authentic (less generically American) like the entrees. read more

Food was great! However one snafu with the server...we order a bottle of wine and four glasses. Server brought four glasses with wine already poured. Never had that happen before and everyone at our table confirmed what was our requested order. Server apologized and only charged for the bottle. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. This place is in my home town and anytime I'm up to see family it's a must. It fronts as a simple pizza shop but honestly if you're only getting the pizza you need to expand your mind. The menu has changed over the years so I can't go over all the great meals I've had there. Just this last time both my FREIND and I got caprese salad with steak on top and a light vinaigrette. Man was that awesome! Large mozzarella chunks on tops oh juicy tomato slices with light pink steak on top. Just typing that makes my mouth water. The actual building was renovated a few years ago and the inside is very warm and inviting. The restaurant and restrooms are always immaculate. Which is more than you can say for 75%of restaurants . One of the best things about being on the road while working is finding those nice out of the way places such as here to grab a pizza or even a full meal. When I got there I was greeted by a young lady who was very friendly and ordered 2 slices. The slices are large and very well priced. They tasted great and were quite filling. My family and I love this place. But recently due to pandemic the quality had been lacking. I had ordered take out pizza, calamari pretty usual order for me, but recently i ordersd the calamari had a faint odor (not a huge concern) but also I noticed the portion was far less then when you dine in (also not a huge concern the first time, but it is also an 18$ item. Almost 1 1/2 the price of a pizza. This time I decided to try the order again and low and behold not only was the fishy aroma thicker, the portion was smal, and there was no tentacles.. if you order calamari you should know the tentacles are the best part. We originally chose this spot because we had been told it was a BYOB. Even the waiter/bartender said he would have a ask his boss and there would be a corkage fee. OK we said. No, was the answer. We eventually found a drinkable wine that was not chilled although it should have been. We had to track down our waiter to give our order. Two of use ordered a pizza that arrived not hot and had no taste whatsoever. The eggplant parm dinner ordered by 1 arrived with a decent size salad and the cheesesteak ordered by the 4th person he said was good. I love their Alfredo pasta! It is truly the best I have ever had. We live right up the street, so this place is so convenient to go to. They have a drive up pick up window, so you don't even have to get out of your car. I am giving a 4 star review because sometimes they are inconsistent with their ingredients. We will ask for caramelized onions on a pizza and we get raw onions. They change their pasta too, and shrimp sizes. I'm sure it's due to availability, etc. but consistency would be nice. read more

This is a must stop everytime we visit Padre Pio Shrine in Barto. The food server never fails to greet us. She is very enthusiastic, energetic and helful with our orders. Used to like to go here for pizza, steaks and hoagies. We stopped going after 2 separate incidents convinced us that we don't want to eat food made here. First incident was when picking up some food for takeout. I saw the person that took my money go right back to the food counter and start handling food without washing up. So straight from handling bills that have been God knows where to handling food. Yummy! The second experience seems related to the first. Amazingly and maybe against our better judgement we still went back a few times after the first incident but then the last time we got food my turkey hoagie clearly tasted like someone who smokes had handled the food - it had a very noticeable nicotine/cigarette smoke taste to it. Great Italian pizza in the middle of Berks County - who would've thought? Came through here while visiting a friend nearby who absolutely swore by this place. Now, having lived in Rome and NY, I was understandably dubious, but this place delivers. The pizzas are exceptional. I had the meat-lover's, while another friend had the veggie,and a third had the plain. The staff also had great kids' options and played with the little 1-year old as she scampered around the restaurant. All in all, a very pleasant surprise leading to an excellent pizza experience. Passing through and needed some lunch, we found this fine Italian restaurant! We just wanted some simple deli sandwiches and they had many to choose from! My wife and I ate here just recently. We have eaten here in the past-before they put the bar in place. Like others have written, I do enjoy the pizza. The bruschetta seems fresh and The chicken Parm dinner is decent.The problem I had was with the service. It seemed as though all the servers are drinking too much coffee. We had at least three people come to our table for drinks for billing for refills-one server would be fine. Even the guy Who "greeted"us from across the room saying "sit wherever you'd like"--this just seemed off-putting. Is this place a pizzeria or are they trying to be more? I was confused. Ate here several times, pizza is good. Sunday was a disappointment , our order of fried calamari looked like a half order. One entree was ok, the second one our waiter said the mussels were bad so they gave me extra clams. So for my $21 entree I got two scallops, four shrimp and eight clams. The sauce tasted like tomato soup, no spices. Very disappointed, next time we order the pizza. I wonder if they changed ownership lately since you cannot make substitutions on the menu as we often did in the past. Lately when we ordered dinners the salad was terrible, and I mean terrible. We usually order take-out so we don't find out how everything looks until arriving at home. This has happened several times in the past 2 months - the salad is old looking with mainly yellow and white lettuce leaves. Also they dumped the salad dressing at the bottom of the salad container which should be separate - I was upset thinking they forgot to put it with our order. read more
