Folino Winery offers a spacious tasting room with an attached gift shop and an impressive variety of wines, including Barbera and Cabernet Franc. Amanda, who guided my tasting, was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable as she poured my selections and chatted about the different profiles. In general, the wines are lighter as compared to California wines. I didn't have any wine that I didn't like here. The tasting was $15 and bottles varied from $18 on up. Definitely moderate prices. The day was cloudy and cold, so I didn't explore the outdoor area, but it looked like a pleasant space for warmer weather. I visited only the tasting room and did not check out the restaurant. I took home a couple of bottles, including one of their sangria-style wines that caught my curiosity. I'm looking forward to pairing it at home and sharing it with guests. Elite-worthy impromptu date night Folino Estate Winery absolutely delivered from start to finish. We jumped into a blind wine tasting featuring six wines--three whites and three reds--complete with a fun guessing sheet that made the experience interactive and playful. Kenzie was a standout host: knowledgeable without being stuffy, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the winery. She shared great insight into the wines and Folino's story while keeping the tasting relaxed and fun. Huge thanks to her for setting the tone for the night. We stayed for dinner afterward and the food was excellent. From the appetizers to the entrées, everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. Absolutely gorgeous winery! The wines lean more toward the dry side, but they do offer 1-2 sweet options and a few semi-sweet selections, so there's something for everyone. They have an on-site restaurant, and reservations are easy to book online. We did the wine tasting, which included six samples--definitely worth it. They also offer a mulled wine that was absolutely delicious. You can even purchase a kit that includes the bottle of wine to make it yourself at home, which I loved. The winery grounds are beautiful and I can only imagine how amazing they are from spring through fall. We visited during the winter and it was still lovely. There's also a large, beautiful gift shop with lots of great items. I definitely recommend making a trip to this winery! read more

The venue itself is undeniably beautiful, with a warm, rustic charm that feels like you've stepped into a Napa Valley vineyard. It sets high expectations right from the moment you walk in--and unfortunately, the food didn't quite rise to meet them. I started with the pappardelle crema, featuring wide ribbons of pasta in a white wine garlic cream sauce, topped with prosciutto crisps. While the presentation was appealing, the flavor fell flat. The sauce tasted more like a basic Alfredo, with no noticeable hints of garlic or white wine. The prosciutto crisps did add a welcome salty crunch, but they were sparse, leaving most bites lacking that extra layer of flavor. Portion-wise, it felt closer to an appetizer, and with no bread, soup, or salad included, it didn't feel like a complete entrée. Still extremely hungry, I opted to try one of their pizzas instead of dessert. I chose the roasted grape pizza, a coal-fired pie topped with ricotta, mozzarella, rosemary, and a red wine glaze. Unfortunately, this dish also lacked the bold flavors it promised. The rosemary was almost nonexistent, and overall, the pizza felt underwhelming and subdued. Service was another area that could use improvement. While the waitress was friendly, she wasn't particularly attentive. Water glasses went unrefilled, and she only returned to the table once we had finished eating. In the end, this is a place where the atmosphere truly shines, but the food and service don't quite justify the price point. Right now rated a 6.7 on my Beli, Folino's has all the makings of a standout dining experience, but currently it falls short where it matters most. read more

The food was excellent, the venue itself was beautiful, and our waiter was genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the event staff, which felt shockingly rude and unprofessional. I stepped outside to the patio because my son had started crying and I was trying to quietly comfort him away from other guests. While we were standing there, one of their event planners noticed us from what felt like an excessive distance away and marched directly over to tell me that we were being disruptive to a tour she was giving. The interaction felt unnecessary and strangely hostile, especially considering we were also paying guests and were already making an effort to be considerate. What unsettled me most wasn't being asked to move, it was how quickly kindness and hospitality disappeared the moment we became inconvenient. If I were a bride touring the venue and saw staff treat guests that way, I'd seriously question how they handle people once contracts are signed. read more

7/18/25 we had lunch reservations and were seated promptly. The grounds and even the drive to Folino Winery is so picturesque and lovely. My husband had gotten a gift card for his retirement so we decided to go for lunch and meet up with friends. As a non drinker I really appreciated the nice mocktail list on the menu. It is really nice to have the option of something more than water. The garlic knots had zero hint of garlic and some were burned. I do not recommend these! I get delicious hot garlic knots at Dolce Casa in Tamaqua and they are complimentary! The calamari was very expensive at 20$ in my opinion. It was good and tender and the 5 of us shared it. Overall the food is ridiculously expensive. A piece of Lasagna for 26$?! You don't get any bread or salad either. I opted for the wood fired pizza. The pepperoni with basil- it arrived without basil and the server was happy to bring it to me. She explained it did not come with basil- I pointed it out that the menu states it does come with basil- she apologized and told me it has never had basil anytime she has served it. Maybe the cooks need to brush up on the menu? It wasn't a big deal but I wanted her to know that the oversight was not my fault. The desserts are double the price of regular places. A cannoli is a hefty 14$. The atmosphere was sleek and nice. We were seated by the door and every time the door opened we got a gust of wind. All in all the service was good and so was the food. The prices were sky high for food but I did enjoy it. As a non drinker- wineries are not fun for me- but Folino's was! To me, it was more of a restaurant experience. Folino is a lovely looking venue. We enjoyed several of the wines during our wine tasting but they were on the expensive side for us. . When we went to dinner, We were highly disappointed to be told the lamb dishes and spicy sausage dish were unavailable, mainly because it was a Sunday and they were closed the next next day??? At least do not have it on the special menu and especially do not wait to tell us it's unavailable until we order. We will say The lasagna was probably the best we ever had but the lemon pasta dish with peas was un edible. Seriously no taste except for hot pepper flakes. The garlic white pasta dish was edible but very bland. The waitress was pleasant but not attentive. Never refilled our water glasses or did not come to check when food after it was delivered We had high hopes for this place because friends liked the place when they had lunch there, but sadly we were disappointed. read more

Folino makes my favorite PA wine, hands down. I love their Rosato Scotto, their dry rose with just a hint of fruitiness. It's my favorite summer drink, and I'm no wino. I visit my local Folino dispensary (i.e. Vintner's Table) anytime I get a thirst for their tasty wine, so I've been wanting to visit the mothership for some time. I made a Saturday brunch reservation on a beautiful sunny day, and I was really looking forward to our time at the vineyard. Saturdays bring out the crews - there was a group Aston Martin drivers (cool parking lot!!), lots of girlies and big families celebrating birthdays, bachelorettes, babies, etc. My biggest mistake was coming here hangry. It was no less than 15 minutes from the time we sat down at our table until we finally flagged a busser for some water. From there, it was another 10 minutes before we got our wine. It was then I started reading the numerous reviews about the service at Folino, and I started sweating. I thought I had made a huge mistake. That said, it wasn't a huge wait from the time we put in our food order until it came out. But our server seemed so busy and overwhelmed that we sat for what felt like ages before we had the chance to order. I opted for the Buon Giorno breakfast pizza, and my partner ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich. My pizza was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. The crush was the best part. I've had eggy breakfast pizzas before, and this one just didn't live up to my hopes. A table near me ordered a different, savory pizza off the lunch menu, and that looked way tastier than mine. The chicken parmesan sandwich was MASSIVE! You can opt for a $5 (!) addition of fries, but given the girth of the sandwich, I don't think you need them. The venue itself is stunning, especially on a beautiful day. Their wine list is impressive, and I'm a big fan of their drier options. Pennsylvania is not particularly known for it's wines, but Folino's is an exception. They offer a variety of non-alcoholic italian sodas, coffee and espresso drinks, and a full bar of niche cocktails. That said, I'd skip the food. Or, perhaps, just skip the breakfast pizza. Based on the speed of the service here, I'd be less tempted to come here for a meal, but would definitely come for a wine or two. The servers were nice, don't get me wrong - but overall, especially for a busy Saturday, they seemed disorganized and understaffed. The cheesecake was tasty!! They never disappoint! Came for a Mother's Day lunch. Kayleigh was our server. We had a chocolate martini flight and I had a wonderful glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The salad and burratta appetizers were fresh and delicious. My husband got the parpaddel with chicken and shrimp. He enjoyed it. The shrimp scampi with rissotto was hot and delicious. Stunning Old World Venue with a restaurant, tasting room, and large rooms for private events. Restaurant has a well rounded menu. The food is amazing. The menu suggests wine pairings (always appreciated!). We had the meatballs, arancini, and potato leek soup. Our friends said the spinach artichokes dip was outstanding! The brick oven bar area is beautiful! In the main dining room there's a large fireplace in center. Although, not fireplace weather, I can imagine the ambiance on cold days is spectacular. You can taste wine in the tasting room, or have flights while seated at a table. There are cocktails, flights of martinis. During warm weather the outside Wine garden has bocce ball, and lovely seating with picnic tables with umbrellas, swings (wheeee, so fun!). There's also a patio area, right off the main dining room. If there's one flaw, it might be restrooms. There was a wedding and shower along with regular winery guests. The line to use the restroom was quite long. There are 5 stalls in the ladies room, but with so many guests on premises it's not enough. Trash cans were over flowing and the littered. But, the sinks are beautiful ! I attended a wedding last night at Folino Winery and the venue was beautiful and charming, and that was honestly the only thing it had to offer. They had staff bartending that made a martini that tasted more like dirty water thrown into the bottom inch of a wine glass than a crafted cocktail. I saw other guests actually instructing these "bartenders" on how to make their drinks after many disgusting mistakes. Charcuterie board was pretty and tasty as was the appetizers during the cocktail hour. My fish dinner was not edible since they had cooked it so well done that it resembled a piece of fish jerky I feed my dogs. When the waitress took my plate I told her I couldn't eat it because of its condition, she said she figured because most people couldn't. They knew they were feeding everyone garbage yet they still served it and didn't offer an alternative? That's horrible service, what was their management doing this whole time? This was my first and last time here. If you want to come and sit to enjoy the ambience just make sure your drink is out of a bottle, if you're hungry just eat before you get here. read more

My friends and I went to Folino Estate Winery a few weeks back. I've also been to a wedding here before, years ago. I don't remember if they had walk-in service for food or if you needed reservations, but we had reservations just in case. The place was great and had a familiar vibe of wineries I've been to before. It's nice and inviting, but not too formal or welcoming to a casual crowd. The wine selection was great, from red to white. The food was also good and enjoyable, and no one in my party was disappointed. Just be prepared to spend some money, though, as this can be a pricey day out, especially with the gift shop on the way out. We didn't get to see much outside because we visited in the winter, but we might go back in the summer. I recommend the Red Wine Hot Chocolate (well for those 21 and up) and the Tiramisu. read more

Great setting on a cold January weeknight evening. Food was very tasty, including appetizer (charcuterie choice includes figs!) , pasta and top notch wine (especially in PA!). My husband and I celebrated our 11th anniversary at Folino and brought our four-week-old newborn twins along. We've been to Folino before and love the ambiance and food but were a little nervous about taking our children to a restaurant for the first time. From the beginning, the staff was absolutely wonderful. On a busy afternoon, they accommodated our request to sit further away from people as our babies do not yet have all of their vaccines and it was too hot to sit outside as we had originally planned. The server was wonderful, offering suggestions, and being understanding of our situation. We had a shaved beef bruschetta which was delicious but not what we were expecting. I enjoyed a Folino Sunrise cocktail, Calabrese pizza, and a side of rosemary truffle fries. All of it was wonderful and very flavorful. My husband enjoyed a flight of wine with great suggestions from the server and the orchichette with an addition of pork sausage. Prices are pretty standard for any similar restaurants and portions, depending on your order, are either filling or quite generous. read more

Hostess left much to be desired, very snappy and cold. Let us sit at the bar because we didn't have a reservation, but was very rude about us not having reservations. Do you guys really book 100% of your tables? Not great practice. Sat at the bar and put in drink orders, friend got the tiramisu martini which looked and tasted great, and I got the Bloody Mary. The drink was good, though pre mixed. The garnish on the Bloody Mary did not include what it said on the menu, and also just seemed very old. Basil was sad looking and wilted, while the cherry tomato was very mushy. I also caught the unfortunate glance of the bar tender pulling it out of a half pan which was not covered while in the fridge. Leaving me to wonder how long it had been in there uncovered. Food was lackluster. Side brunch potatoes had actually zero salt on them, but were drowning in low quality olive oil. We each got toasts, friend the egg scramble toast (boring) and I the Italian Benedict. Both plates came out very warm, with the food looking dried on top signifying it had been under the heat lamp for too long. Not very appetizing. Finally, bathroom wasn't tidy. Stall I was in had empty rolls on the hardware, with the in-use roll propped on the handicap handle. Really shouldn't be something you see an hour after open. All around this venue tries to convey an air of excellence, luxury, and cheugyness-- but fails in the execution. Would be better suited sticking to wine, which they do well. read more

Folino Estate Winery - Sangria of the month - Italian Near Me - Kutztown, Pennsylvania

About an hour away from where we live, Folino is a treat that my family indulges in once or twice a year when we want to feel fancy. The estate is gorgeous; there are multiple areas to enjoy your visit, including an indoor dining room, tasting room and shop, outdoor dining patio, plus indoor and outdoor waiting areas, all of which reflect an Old World/Italian countryside aesthetic. There's not a bad view from the patio, which looks out on the vineyard's rows and rows of grapes and rolling hills. The food and drink is usually quite good. Generally, I think Pennsylvania wines are... ~*not good*~, to put it gently. However, Folio's wine, in my estimation, can compete with other states that are known for their wines, like California, Oregon, and Washington. The Pinot Grigio is always on point, and on past occasions, I've enjoyed various wine flights of reds and whites without regretting any of my selections. Most recently, I had a cherry hibiscus sangria, which came with a cherry-hibiscus-sugared rim, edible violets, and a whole cherry. I don't think I've gotten a drink at Folino that has disappointed. (For those not inclined to wine, they have lots of cocktails, some beers, and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from, as well.) The food is also usually quite good. I typically opt for their wood-fired pizzas, although I have gotten savory sandwiches and fresh salads in the past and enjoyed both. On my last visit, my party and I ordered meatballs for the appetizer and a Calabrese pizza and Margherita pizza for our meal. The meatballs were tender and flavorful in a delicious red sauce. The pizzas were also quite good. The Calabrese had spiced meats and pepperoncini for the tiniest bit of flavorful heat, and the Margherita had a generous amount of garlicky red sauce. In both cases, the amount of toppings were light for the size and price--especially for the Margherita, which was just a little light on the fresh mozzarella to be well-balanced. Despite that, the flavors were nice. The one area this place may fall short is the service. Inconsistent drink pours are one thing I've noticed over the years. For example, two people in my party ordered the cherry hibiscus sangria and the amount of sangria in our glasses differed by maybe a finger or so (for lack of better measuring tool). While I understand that humans are pouring the drinks, there should be some consistency with pours, especially since we're all paying the same price. The service is also a bit disorganized. On our last visit, the food runners brought out orders without know which table it went to, offering multiple plates to multiple tables before landing the food with those who ordered it. This happened at least four times during our visit. Similarly, when our appetizer came out--saucy meatballs--the runner dropped off the food and left immediately, without asking if we needed anything, which would have been nice because we didn't have any plates. We waited for about 5 minutes without the server stopping by and finally ate out of the serving dish so our food didn't get cold before we had plates. (This was fine because we're family; I would not have been pleased if I were here with a client or colleagues.) Once the waitress came around, we asked for plates and were brought saucers, a unique choice to say the least. When our pizzas arrived, the same thing happened: the runner offered them to another table before getting to us and then left so fast after dropping that we didn't get the chance to ask for regular-sized plates. We ended up eating our pizza off saucers. Again, not a huge deal with family, but if I were on a date or trying to impress someone I brought here, I would have been annoyed. Finally, we waited for quite a while to get the check and had to ask three times for a box for our leftovers. Overall, I would recommend Folino to locals and visitors. Even with the shortfalls of their service, it's still an enjoyable spot to enjoy some delicious wine, good food, and relaxing ambiance in Eastern/Central PA. Pro tip: make a reservation, especially if you want to sit on the patio during a summer weekend! Sometimes a same-day reservation will work, but calling ahead is best to make sure there's a place for you. read more

Finally when we sat down the waitress who was very nice & accommodating came over & introduced herself. We ordered drinks & appetizers & they cane out fairly quick. We ordered our entrees & the waitress came back & said they ran out of the sauce for the pumpkin gnocchi. She said they had a regular cream sauce so I said I would try it. When our entrees came out the portions were very small & my gnocchi had 3 shrimp. My husband's portion was so small too. We got gelato for dessert & they forgot about it & it came out melted. I came here to view this venue for a wedding. Even though it's a very cold day in January you can tell how beautiful the grounds are right from the drive up from the entrance. The inside has a great ambiance. Plus Ray the wedding sales associate was a pleasure to work with. We decided to have lunch here. I ordered the Malloreddus Bolognese, it was not the Bolognese I have expected there was no sauce just meat with the pasta. The waitress couldn't have been nicer and exchanged for another dish the shrimp scampi which was delicious. My hubby ordered the Calabrese pizza which he enjoyed. We had the red orange Sangria which not only were delicious but so pretty with the garnish and the sugar rim. Of course I had to have the affogato for dessert with a cannoli flavored gelato it was a good finish to the meal. We decided to visit Folino Estate after enjoying a wonderful date at their Phoenixville tasting room (see separate review of Vintner's Table). Our visit included an overnight stay at the Folino-owned Vintner's Inn; a wonderful experience we hope to enjoy again soon. Arriving for dinner at 7 pm, we were greeted by beautiful stone architecture, a Tuscan-inspired feel, and friendly staff. We arrived just in time to enjoy a free sample or a recently released sparkling wine (delicious) and promptly ordered the antipasti board and a bottle of the estate's Merlot. Both of them paired wonderfully together as we peacefully took in the fireplace, warm ambiance and attentive service. We followed our antipasti with a wood fired pizza - The Lorenzo. Everything was fresh, beautifully arranged and mouth watering. Even writing this review is making me hungry. Our meal never felt rushed, the timing of the courses was perfect and the food was excellent and approach-ably priced. We purchased a couple of bottles from the on-site shop to take back to our hotel room and decided to call it an evening. The next day, after exploring several other nearby wineries, we came back once again for dinner. This time we enjoyed a different wine (Rosso Fresco), and indulged with a wood oven pane, pappardelle bolognese and a pizza (The Luca). All were excellent - very fresh and extremely satisfying. Just had a family event there (10th, 25th & 50th anniversaries plus 2 birthdays = a massive party!) Was everything we were hoping for! I cannot say enough about the excellent service, fantastic food and welcoming feel of this place. We come here to dine and joined the Family Club along the way because we love their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests. Word to the wise - they cook everything to order and they are very popular, so please expect to spend some time here. Their service is great but it's not someplace to go if you are in a rush. Folino has always been a staple in our friend group. One of our friends actually got married there as well! It was a group of 6 of us last Friday and I have some positives and some negatives of our trip. First, on the menu it says there is a 20% fee added to your bill, no matter the party size, to accommodate the benefits for employees and taking care of them. In my head that is the tip or added gratuity which is fine. But I feel as though the servers know they're getting the 20% so they do not have a sense or urgency when taking care of guests. To start, 3 friends ordered 3 wine flights, someone ordered a bottle of wine and then 2 of us ordered Italian sodas. The drinks time way longer than a normal time, but I figured it's flights so it may take longer. Then the flights were not the same wines as listed on the menu and the people who ordered flights were not notified of this prior to ordering them. Moving onto apps, the apps were great! We had the truffle fries, the fried Brussel sprouts and the chicken tenders. All delicious! Then our server was kinda MIA after we were done apps and ready to put in our dinner order. We put in our dinner order and dinner came out in great time and it was all really good!! The winter ravioli was one of the best dishes I've ever had. Then we had dessert, which consisted of two of the espresso brownie sundaes which were HEAVENLY, the tiramisu which was incredible, the zeppolis, and then the banana cannoli which was okay. At one point we had a woman come to our table I'm not sure who she was, but she offered samples of a wine and spoke a little about it which I thought was a really nice touch and a nice gesture! She was so sweet and knowledgeable! Honestly all the food was really good it was just the service that lacked a little bit. All in all, we will be back because we do love the food and wine, but hope the service improves. read more

The music was inside with microphones, with all brick walls we had to scream to talk as we couldn't have conversation. My reservation was at 12, it is now 1:30 and we haven't been checked on. Our food still isn't here and all of ours drinks are empty and only got one. We were moved to a different table finally after asking the woman at the front to be moved. She was incredibly rude (hair up with bleached roots only in the back) and was giving us awful attitude. We have done bridal showers, and baby showers here and have always enjoyed it. The woman we asked to attend to us with the noise and table is now pointing at us talking to the waiter staff and making nasty looks at us. We have been nothing but nice and are let down by the poor service. read more

WARNING!!! My family visited and got the garlic knots and they were burned to hell and back! They also serve ALL wines chilled and it completely ruins the flavor of the reds to a vinegar taste! read more

The potato leek soup was digusting. I was so embarrassed to bring my guests there. Tasted like dirty dishwater. It was grey in color, thin as water, with no taste whatsoever. Digusting. Worst soup I have every eaten. Not sure who they have making this, but nice venue, with mediocre food. read more

Just there this evening and I was truly impressed, great dishes, appetizers, and I don't know what some other online reviewers are even saying about their service. They were truly Johnny on the spot and quick with bringing us our drinks and food! Liked the ravioli! And the wine flight was very good also. This is not your average Pennsylvania winery. Food and drink were unique and flavors were delicious yet subtle. None of the flavors were overdone nor was dessert over-sweet. Good cappuccino! Definitely worth a visit (or multiple). It is a little in the pricy side but the food and wine are incredible so I think it's worth it. Both the indoor and patio seating are beautiful, and it's a beautiful area to walk around and take photos. The food is all super fresh and there are a lot of creative plates. The seasonal sangrias are so much fun. I would plan a day to go with friends and really enjoy your time there. I would also recommend making a reservation ahead of going, especially on a weekend. read more
