Valera and his brother are hands down the best local contractors I've ever had the pleasure to hire. They are punctual, considerate of their surroundings and most certainly very professional. They executed two jobs for us: 1- the assembly and installation of a kids cedar home kit. (Extremely complex, came in the form of hundreds of parts and resulted in a perfect execution) 2- installation of a large television mount and set up of the television itself. Both jobs were completed as requested, without a complaint but instead with a desire to get us exactly what we requested and agreed upon. Whether it be a feature on the kids house that needed to be exact or the focus of establishing an eye level and comfortable location of a TV exactly where we wanted it. The bottom line is that Valera and his brother are each other's coach in pushing the other to make all the right decisions. Their work ethic is unmatchable. They came highly recommended and let it be re-emphasized that they get a HIGH RECCOMENDATION from me. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Valera and Nicolai. As soon as I posted my request on Yelp, they were the first ones to respond, almost immediately. I sent them pics along with a description of what I needed done. I received a quote immediately. They were able to fulfill the order the next day as requested. They arrived promptly within the arrival window, had on masks, and removed their shoes upon entry. They were very friendly and respectful and got to work right away. They reassembled the legs onto my heavy live edge table, hung a tapestry behind my bed and installed three decorative hooks for my three hanging plants. They were quick, competent and even took the time to look at my window to ensure it was secure and installed an elbow joint to be sure. Super nice guys! Even played with my dog who demanded his toy be thrown in between bolts being screwed in! Will definitely be using them again! read more

Two gentlemen from Valera Handyman affixed 6 pieces of artwork to the walls in my apartment last week and they did a wonderful job. They arrived on time and were very patient with me as I took my time deciding which position for each piece would look best, since I wasn't sure at first. They held each piece up against the wall and even moved them in various locations so I could get a sense of what the pieces would look like in each positioning, giving me plenty of time to decide. They never made me feel rushed or like they were impatient while I considered my options. They were 100% focused on doing the best job possible and they delivered. In addition to being polite and patient, they were very precise in their work. The art on my walls looks just how I want it to and I'm very pleased with the service I received. ANOTHER job well done! This time around, I needed tile replacement and repair in my bathroom around the tub. Valera and his brother ripped all the old tile out, ripped the wood and other stuff behind that out, installed some kind of waterproof bathroom grade plank, put silicone sealer around that, then installed the new tiles, then did the grout between all the tiles and the put silicone sealer where the tiles meet the tub., EXCELLENT professional job. I couldn't have asked for a better job. These guy, as I've said in a previous review for a previous job, truly know what they are doing and did another great professional job! I have a list of other things that they will be doing for me in the future. I lucked out finding these guys. read more

During this pandemic I needed some work done in my apartment including the installing of two very heavy ac units before it gets hot. I was nervous to let anyone in my apt but I contacted Valera. Valera quoted me a price from pictures, confirmed a date and did the work. He and his brother arrived on time with masks and removed their shoes before entering without being asked. We spent 10 min reviewing what I needed done and I left my apt for the day for them to do the work. All was completed within hours without a trace of them every doing any work. Very neat and clean!!! Extremely positive experience. Valera completely redid the bathroom in my apartment. First of all he was extremely professional and very attune to small details. When he was removing the old bathroom he put up tar mat on the floor so the dirt from construction wouldn't stain the floor. Didn't have to chase him to finish work. (Actually he was chasing me to pick the titles, shower and etc.) First time had that type of experience. :) His pricing is very fair considering all the 100 small details he did for me and I felt 100% comfortable with him at any given moment. Valera and his brother came to fix my bi-fold closet door. They were VERY RESPONSIVE and HIGHLY COMMUNICABLE. Their prices very fair and their QUALITY OF WORK IS GREAT. My job required them to remove the door, drill into the bottom and repair by installing new hard-wood inside the door to provide stability. They came fully prepared for the job and this enabled a good use of time for everyone. Having moved into coop apt recently had a number of odd jobs- hanging shades, rods for tapestries, hooks for window treatments etc. They got back to me very soon after I reached out, arranged a convenient time quickly, and the price was very reasonable. These guys are consummate professionals and all around good people. They arrived right on time and were very accommodating regarding some unusual things about our building. I didn't have to stand over watching while trying to keep my toddler out of the room - I was getting text photo updates of progress. This is second time I have called Valera - Had a few jobs - replace a shade, mounting of closet hardware, fixing an armchair. My biggest problem was a triple mirror that had been badly attached to the dresser by movers. As it was starting to tip forward badly, it was really worrying me - it is absolutely perfectly mounted now! I called multiple handymen on a Saturday morning with an urgent situation and Valera was the only one to answer. He got back to me so quickly, was able to arrive within a few hours, and communicated promptly the either time to assess what would be required for the job. Had really bad peeling paint and plaster due to terrible super fixes in bathroom with bad ventilation and window sill. Valeriy and his brother had super fast response time, they offered to come the same week when I texted. The work was done really quickly and they used specific products requested (and didn't charge me extra for it). I spent weeks trying to find a reliable and good quality handyman that responds and keeps to his dates. this was quite an impossible task but Valera Handyman was just amazing. I had them do grout work in the kitchen and bathroom and was quoted a very very fair price considering this is New York and he did a great job quickly and efficiently. it was worth every penny. Nick did a great job fixing the hinge on my kitchen cabinet, and also fixed my balcony door where the thumb turn lock was stuck and jammed. These guys are amazing: always answering the phone and can help literally with everything, starting from small repairs to entire home renovation. I am so grateful for the quick response, early availability, and reasonable quote for mounting two TVs. They gave a window of time and notified us of ETAs, which is highly appreciated. Once I chose my color, he handled everything -- purchasing all the paint and supplies, and arriving with his assistant fully prepared. They carefully protected and taped off everything before starting. They were highly efficient, clearly experienced, and paid close attention to every detail. On the first day, they meticulously removed all the cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, organizing everything carefully in containers. Then they sanded everything thoroughly. They took the doors with them, and just two days later returned to reinstall everything. The finished result is absolutely beautiful. My kitchen looks amazing, and I could not be happier. I would like to separate out the work product from the service aspect. The work product you can seen from the pictures - our bathrooms are transformed. It's one thing to select nice finishes and materials and another thing to install them with care and quality. They delivered on both. Then, there is the service aspect. My wife was late into her pregnancy when we started the work and then we had a newborn and a young child too while the work was being finalized. Samir and team were so conscientious - there were times when we weren't even sure they were there because the were working so quietly. I recommend them without reservation and will turn to them for any future work we do.
