I called for an appointment and had to wait a week, but if they're that good, they're busy, right? So, I went in this morning for my appointment with Missy, what a wonderful woman! I haven't cut my hair in over 2 years (yikes!) and we decided what would look best for me. We chatted and she cut, professional all the way, I must say. I very much enjoyed the chit-chat and love my cut! I really liked the way the salon is set up, it feels personal and not all bare and open like most others. I'll be back!

I was the other half of that double booking today. I booked on the website so I was on the Schedule but the other client said she sent a text message. I was thinking of offering my appointment to her, but she left before I had a chance. She walked out even before giving the Raelynn a chance to make good on the situation. From my perspective this seemed like an unfortunate situation, but the salon did want to make it right somehow. I don't know the Raelynn personally but the 2 times she's cut my hair she seemed very personable, thoughtful, and client focused.

Anyhow, I was in desperate need of a trim since it had been 6+ months and I was looking feral. After seeing positive recommendations in a local community group online, I called Amber and she was able to fit me in within a day or so which was a nice surprise. Her shop is very clean and cute, she's diligent about Covid-19 precautions, she's an overall cool person to be around, and she did a fantastic job on my long, wavy, graying hair. She managed all this for a price so reasonable, I had to look twice. I'm confident that regular visits to Amber will have me looking human rather than like an angry spirit made of creosote branches and dust. Also, her shop is over by Old Town Yucca so there's good coffee and fun little stores nearby if you want to make a socially distant day of it. Her shop has lots of parking right up front, too, and would have been easy to find if I'd just listened to Waze the first time. A beauty salon museum? I knew I had to investigate…read more This quirky and cute beauty salon is owned by Jeff Hafler who is a working stylist. Part of the museum features over 3000 vintage displays dating back to the 1940's with hairdryers, posters and advertisements, mannequins with all kinds of unique curlers, a one person sauna that looks like it came from the 1950's and many vintage dolls like Farrah Fawcett. The dolls have been well preserved and still in their boxes. Jeff has been collecting these items he told me for over 19 years. The rest of the salon is working. You can make an appointment for all hair services here and be surrounded by all this nostalgia. Outside in the back of the salon I found all these 1960 hair dryers. It was just wild seeing all these historical hair tools. I had so much fun touring around this museum and talking with Jeff. Vibe is well worth a stop just to step back in time and enjoy a giggle.
