I came here last month because my normal place was closed and I needed a manicure that day. My first experience was good, they have a LOT of colors to choose from, and my dip manicure lasted over a month with no chips or breaks, so I decided to come back again. This second time the woman who did my nails cut up my cuticles/nail beds so badly that they were all bleeding and stinging for days. She was talking on her phone using EarPods the entire time she was doing my nails which honestly I didn't care about until I realized how bad the work was. She kept apologizing for cutting one of my nails, so she definitely knew what she had done. I didn't really realize how bad it was until I got home otherwise I would have certainly asked for a discount. I've been getting dip manis for years at many different salons and have never had an experience like this. Would not return here!

This place is such a gem! I live in Austin and was visiting family in Richmond and was hoping to find a good spot to get my powder dip manicure done. My mom and I decided to check this place out due to the great reviews and close proximity to her house. We were not disappointed! My mom got a standard manicure and pedicure and enjoyed it so much! She said it was very relaxing and her nail tech did an awesome job. They look really nice. I have been doing the powder dip manicure for a few months now and love how long it lasts and how shiny it is. My nail tech was Jenny and she was awesome! She was very knowledgeable about the dip process, how to achieve the right shape and making sure it was exactly what I wanted. The salon is clean, organized and has a great selection of colors and the pricing is extremely fair. I felt like we got a great service, nothing was rushed and everyone was very nice!

Day 1 of dip nails, but so far I love it. I think my technician was jenny? I can't remember her name but she was really thorough. I went to another location and it felt thick but after going to Valerie's, my nails feel normal-- not excessively thick and they're beautiful! Only thing is she didn't clean the glue or whatever under my nails, but other than that-- GREAT job. I'll post another review after it's been a week or so to see the progress! Day 9 of dip nails-- it started "crusting" or whatever around the edges as it grew out but I also went today to get a pedicure and jenny buffed out my edges a little and made them look new again!! However after the oil came off you could tell where it was buffed which looked kinda weird. Overall, I would still come back.

I came in and waited about 10 minutes on Sunday. Miss Valerie took care of my dip powder nails and she did a great job. The shape and color were exactly what I wanted. Update: 3 weeks later and not one chip, or crack. And I've been rough will my nails. Very impressed!

I came to this place strictly off of reviews on yelp. I left the nail shop next door because my usual girl moved out of state. Valeries husband (Donny) did my nails and someone else dud my pedicure. They had great customer service and did a phenomenal job!!! I am thoroughly impressed and will be back.... They offer you drinks (which is customary now days at most bail shops) and they don't nickel and dime you by charging you for broke nails which I like. The guy that did my nails was a perfectionist and made sure they were perfect and I am a very picky person about how my nails are done.... I highly recommend this place if you live near by!!!

I came in on a Saturday around lunch time without an appointment and had a 20 minute or so wait, which was not bad. A male employee, who was working on someone's nails, made sure to occasionally look up and make sure I'm doing okay and I was offered water as I waited as well. I did not mind the wait and expected it due to the time I'm coming in. Valerie ended up doing my nails and she did an amazing job. I got a dip powder manicure on my natural nails and she was very attentive to details, much more than nail techs in the past with dip powder. My nails were not not thick or clumpy as they have been in the past. I will definitely be back!

This review is long overdue... My fiancé and I just bought a house in Richmond, and the fact that it was closer to Valerie's salon was - NO B.S.! - part of my decision!!! I found her randomly when I was visiting my mom in Sugar Land and desperately seeking dip powder. Since then, I've been commuting to her salon from our place in Midtown. Crazy, I know, but if that doesn't speak volumes for her work, I don't know what will. I'm so glad I found her because she's now my go to, whether I'm near or far. Not only does she do an immaculate job on my nails, but she genuinely cares about her customers. My first visit to her salon, I gave her a big hug when I left! She's so sincere and I have the deepest respect for her. I hope her business grows and flourishes. She's now the only one I trust for nails, and I'm so excited to be moving closer!!!

I have been going to valeries for a few years now and their work is unbeatable. I have never had to wait (although i typically make an appointment) and my nails are always perfect and last for weeks. I get dip powder on my natural nails by Valerie and they are still perfect when i go back three-4 weeks later! I will never go anywhere else. Services and prices are awesome too. Huge selection of dip colors too!

I was looking for a new nail salon near home & found Valerie's on yelp. I decided to try the dipping nails as I have to wear my nails short now for work & wanted a transition from traditional acrylic. I'm in LOVE....it has been 10 days and lots of hand washing and they look like I just had them done! Dan did my nails and I will definitely be returning. Even thinking about bringing my daughter as a solution to her nail biting.

They did a really good job with my mani and pedi. Scrub moisturizer hot towel everything.

My daughter went for manicure and pedicure. This place did an awful job!! A lot of the nails were smudged. This was even after it was 'fixed' twice!! I would NOT recommend this place.

I've been going to Valerie's for a couple years now, and she never disappoints! Valerie always takes her time and does exactly what I ask for. All workers are nice and great at everything. The store is also very clean!

My cousin and I came here to get a pedicures. Normally we go to the place across the street but it was closed and because we were in need we decided to this place based on the Yelp reviews. My cousins nails were a disaster. It looks like a four year old did her nails. They are clumps with ridges rather than a smooth nail and they claim to clean callous which they did not. My nails aren't as bad but I left with nail polish on my skin around my nails. And when you get such a bright color like yellow you definitely don't want that on your cuticles and skin. Def would not come back. read more

After reading the good reviews and wanting to make a salon change, I made an appointment this week for a mani/pedi. The ladies that took care of me were fantastic and my nails have not look this good in months. The place is kept clean and they conform to sanitizing their tools; that's important to me. I will be back in the future. read more

Had a male nail tech . He took his time and did an awesome job on taking my shellac off and just painting my nails . I almost fell asleep and it was not a manicure I just added a cuticle clean up to my service . Clean and quite place . And affordable compared to prices in Katy. read more

Valerie made my spa experience absolutely fabulous! I received a full set of the dip powder and I love it! Her establishment is extremely clean, a large variety of colors to choose from, complimentary drinks, soft soothing music and the customer service is five star in my book. With a very demanding career, I look forward to my next visit because I'm confident when I leave her establishment I will feel relaxed and will have another amazing spa experience! I had a manicure shellac and pedicure here for the first time ... The pedicure was fine but the shellac wasn't down well. The color wasn't even at all and it was way too thick. 2 days after it started to peel off completely from a few fingers. Will NEVER go back here again. They didn't take the time to do the service well at all. read more

Ok, I'm a guy out doing groceries and I get a wild hair to have a pedicure. Haven't had one in years so I went to Yelp and found Valerie's about 2 minutes away. Called and she said sure come on in...so I did! Usually I am very Leary of places such as this but I need not have been concerned. The shop was clean and very well appointed. Valerie greeted me and within minutes I was seated in a very comfortable mechanical massage chair. They offered me something to drink so I asked for a water which the lady delivered from behind what appeared to be a fully stocked bar! Gentle pop music played overhead. I ordered the #2 pedicure (medium price). For the next 45 minutes or so, I relaxed,smiled water and enjoyed the whole experience. I've had one or two done previously elsewhere, but did not have the total experience that I had at Valerie's. That was last month. Today, I got the wife out of the house to visit Valerie's for a manicure and a pedicure. She has more experience than I do with such things. She said that was one of the best she's ever had and she was amazed by the very reasonable prices too! Highly recommend Valerie's for great service and a pleasant experience! read more

I came here today because of such good reviews and boy was I disappointed!!! The simplest pedicure took an hour and a half and two different ladies. The first one took absolutely forever but I gave her a chance because I thought she was just taking her time to make it good. To start she didn't use new tools. Not even sterilized. She literally had just finished using them on someone then she used them on me. Then after an hour and 15 someone else too over because the first lady 'had a headache.' The lady who took over almost haphazardly finished painting my toes. Upon closer inspection the first lady cut my toes but didn't bother to file the sharp edges. She even cut my big toe nail crooked! Then the second lady placed uneven layers of polish. I was honestly just so tired of being there that I didn't even bother to ask them to fix it. I fixed it myself at home. So disappointing for $28. I did give two stars because I got offered water right away, the massage was good and the ladies were nice. read more

I showed the nail technician a photo of red chrome nails with the middle two nails having red French tips, which would be my Valentine's Day nails. She told me she could do it. I even left the photo up on my phone for some time so that she can reference it, if needed. As I saw her painting the red French tips, I informed her that they were a different shade of red from the other nails. She showed me the two products (gel and powder) and that they are the same shade number. I proceeded to let her finish as I thought that the end results may be different. It was not. She then added the "chrome" finish. I told her that it wasn't shiny at all nor looked like chrome and had a pearlescent finish instead. She told me that it was very popular with clients. She absolutely disregarded what I was saying to her. She also cut my skin while running the drill alongside my cuticles. At this point, the manager entered the conversation. I showed him the picture and he told me that the photos found online for inspiration "all have filters on them." He pretty much sided with the technician and saw no wrong. They both then told me to go wash my hands and see how the nails look in the sun. I did so and saw no difference from when I was seated at my chair. I was baffled that the manager could not see what was wrong. He did not offer to rectify the situation. I even asked for another type of coat that would make my nails shiny. They could not offer that to me for whatever reason. I clearly walked out with hideous nails. Even if I find someone who can replicate a photo here, the management alone would be reason not to go here. I paid for my service here out of respect for their time, but will not be returning and I urge others to do the same. Please see the photos I have provided.

My pedicure was okay. Before she even put the top coat on, I could see a missed spot on my toes bc there was no dry time between coats. Fresh "builder gel" set and pedicure with tip came out to ~$130. I only returned a second time out of sheer curiosity bc I wanted to see how they would do a BUILDER GEL refill on a POLY GEL set. But they used poly gel again. I wanted this simple line work design. Idk how much they charged bc I wasn't told and their receipts are not itemized. There is also no pricing list / menu available to customers. A refill with the design and tip came out to $115. I cannot bring myself to come back to this salon. There's no confirmation of pricing, I asked for a specific service and received the wrong product. Everyone I've interacted with there is friendly and it's a pretty salon but there's a lack of transparency that I can't get on board with.

We respected the honesty that Jenny gave us, her honest response was they couldn't take us at that time 1. Don't tell us "30 minutes" and the wait be 1 1/2 hrs ( yall know that's how they do). #2. Respect the next appointment scheduled, people have stuff to do. #3. Don't rush through our service because you wanna make a dollar and slop up our toes (men have feet fetishes, we both single soooo). REAL talk! Upon our return, our techs was waiting on us. They took their time, made sure we liked our colors, chiseled our calluses and made sure we were completely satisfied with service rendered. The nail salon is old school, they still use Wide Rule tablets and pencils at least that cuts down on overhead prices which passes down to the customers. Shellac nail polish take off is on $5 and shalac polish $7 ( I think) all VERY old school prices. I had a broken toenail to replace was only $5 and my tech built me a new toenail free hand. NOT all techs can do that, I usually tell techs to put a fake nail because I want both toes to match they MUST look flawless. We was so happy with our service that my good friend returned 2 days later for a manicure. We BOTH returned a few days later, I broke a nail and there was NO way on earth, I was going over across several state like that. Rudy's Salon is HIGHLY RECOMMEND by Elite Yelpers and general public! Altogether it came out to right around $100. Overall, I do like my nails. They look nice and the cat eye polish is really pretty. That said, they are not something I would personally pay $100 for again strictly based on the nails themselves. Now let's talk about the service, because that is where they truly shine. The experience was amazing. They were bringing drinks back to back and the mimosas were wonderful. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I honestly left in such a good mood and had a great time. You are definitely paying for an experience here, and that part cannot be beat. As for the durability, my nails did start to lift after nine days. I had some lifting on two nails, and my sets usually last me a full month. I also noticed they did not feel as hard as my Gel X normally does. The tips felt like they had a little bend to them, which I am not used to. So are they the best nails I have ever had? No. But is the service top tier and worth going back for? Absolutely. If you are someone who values great service, good vibes, and a fun atmosphere, this is your spot.

I told the worker and her colleagues that money wasn't the issue I just want what I want since this is my Birthday nails! Let's just say I walked out with something that supposedly look like ombre.... Needless to say this shit is orange tips! Not the set I requested and was gas lit about the 3D being clear. I will provide a picture! Be warned!!

I should've written a review a long time ago & apologize to Valerie & Donny for not doing so sooner. I've been a customer of Valerie's since she worked for the original manager of the nail salon in the Kroger shopping center. I'm thrilled she opened her own salon & wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else. I always have Valerie apply dip powder on my nails, which are real (no tips, unless I break one). The dip powder seems to be the best solution that keeps them sturdy & strong. Some people show their nails just after they're done. Of course they look good! But 2 weeks later?... a gazillion key strokes, driving, cooking, dishes, laundry, gardening, etc.?! The picture demonstrates just how perfectly applied the dip powder is. It doesn't lose its shine, it doesn't crack, or chip, or lift. I prefer shellac on my toes because the pedi lasts longer (especially using a pumice stone in the shower & lotion on @ night). Valerie & Donny are never EVER pushy w/ up-selling, unlike so many other places. Everyone there is superb @ regular mani / pedis whether polish or shellac. Definitely call ahead for a dip powder appointment, as it requires more time than shellac. They have VERY reasonable prices & are conveniently located. I've also had facial waxing done & have never had an issue w/ the wax being too hot, my skin getting irritated (much less ripped off & scabbing over), or staying red for 3 days. I hope everyone in the area starts going here. Valerie & Donny are wonderful people, provide stellar services, & absolutely 100% deserve to succeed as business owners. All these 5 star reviews are true. You won't be disappointed. read more

I started doing my nails with Valerie this past summer. She had some great reviews on yelp and I decided to give her a shot. Valerie introduced me to the dip powder. Its the healthiest choice for your nails and my manicure lasts me at least 3 weeks. Valerie and her staff are super welcoming and friendly. After wearing every type of nail in the last 30+years, my nails were thin and short. But then I found Valeries' and dipping powder nails. In just 3 applications I have beautiful long(4 me)nails. I've been going to Valerie's since she opened and won't go anywhere else. The salon is always in pristine condition. The staff are friendly and prompt to welcome me in. I usually make an appointment but get waited on just as quickly when I just walk in. My nails are done to perfection and last until I get back in. Valerie's is absolutely incredible. I have to have my nails done in a French manicure style for work, and I've had them done a bunch of different ways. The dip powder has been the best for me, and Valerie does it perfectly. They're absolutely gorgeous every time I get them, and I've never had any issues. Valerie gives the Best mani/pedi in Richmond, Tx. Angel is also amazing at Lash Extensions. She is so careful. They look like natural lashes. The staff is so friendly. They always make you feel welcome. Their prices are excellent for the quality of work. We have other salons in the area, but I will keep returning here. read more

This is by far the best nail and lash salon in town! The staff and management are very friendly and courteous. They make you feel at home and even offer some yummy beverages while you get pampered.
