Decided to give this a try since it had great reviews. It is not in the Downtown area, but easy to find. It has limited parking so you will probably need to park on the street. It looks and feels really small but there are rooms around every corner with additional seating. I had read the online menu so knew what I wanted to order but the waitress was busy with larger groups so I had a bit of a wait to place my order and receive the food. First of all, that fresh squeezed OJ is to die for! My dining partner drank 4 glassfuls and THEN was satiated! The food is always delicious...but! The Star of the Show is the young, slim busboy. He is Ricochet Rabbit reincarnated when it's busy and he needs to turn over tables for the next diners. He swoops and dives and picks up those plates, glasses, etc. He'll snap up the table cleaner and towel on his way to the dirty table , cleans it and I could swear he snaps the table with the towel after cleaning. I heard a lot of good things about their food and little store. I had some decent expectations. I honestly was a bit disappointed in the food. The store and decor were what I expected. The hostess was lacking. Didn't really greet us or anything. Our waitress was very nice. Food was average. It's decent food but I really was expecting better. The fresh orange juice, lingonberry jam for abelskivers and the hash browns were all very good. Biscuits and gravy ok. Omelette eh. My parents were not very impressed with the danish pancakes. They are basically Crepes that have been pan fried a bit too long is how I would describe them. Everything was on the bland side. I was hoping for an unforgettable breakfast. I hyped myself about this restaurant and it turned out to be a total foodie fail! This is how this restaurant works: walk in and wait to be seated. If you have to wait you can browse through the gift shop. Personally I was disappointed about the gift shop I thought it would have Danish postcards or anything relative towards Denmark after all their specialities are Danish pancakes. When you get seated you notice this place attracts the older crowd and locals. It's cute that they have local advertisements on their food mats. And each menu has pictures of their coworkers. Now the food review. I really enjoyed their orange juice! It was good and sweet (not sure if they added sugar in :(. ) The breakfast special was good besides their special Danish sausage..it had such odd taste. I sure this place has had better days. The owner is running the kitchen and wait staff from behind the stove. Doesn't know how to delegate and because she is so busy watching the floor and trying to cook I and other customers needed up waiting over 45 min for a table, when tables were open for seating. She should let her wait staff wait tables and her line cooks cook orders in a systematic fashion. For example: line cook one cook order that up, next second cook next order while she adds finishing touches and check orders. Instead of trying to cook, manage and divide sections up.
