we were at the downtown car show so we Thought we would stop in for breakfast bc the last time we were there it was amazing... wish I could say that for today, left disappointed and hungry. I had to send my country potatoes back bc they were not cooked.. they came back as just plain potatoes and BURNT and they smelled horrible. Valhalla has excellent food and everyone is always friendly and accommodating. The menu is extensive and food is delicious. They have a few private rooms that can be reserved for 10-15 people. We like to invite our family for brunch. Everyone is always very satisfied. Shhhh, my very favorite time of year to go eat at Valhalla Restaurant is summer. They make fresh fruit pies. We can get away with a husband and a new town and we love to try local places to eat. This breakfast was amazing I had the spinach mushroom cheese omelette added bacon, bacon was amazing best bacon I've ever had. My husband has a chicken fried steak and homemade biscuit with homemade gravy. Coffee was strong hot and fresh. Staff was super nice. Great customer service, food is fresh and really gives a home made comfort food feel. I've only come here for breakfast but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The kids love the smiley face pancakes and they have a great selection of items to choose from. Most recently I got the ham and eggs and the ham was way over seasoned and were way too salty but it definitely won't prevent me from coming back and trying more options off the menu tho. They had a seasonal pumpkin coffee that was delicious so I highly recommend trying their seasonal options if they have more! read more

This place is super cute, many different theme rooms, you could easily host a small baby shower or brunch meeting or Mother's Day brunch in this place. My family and I were in the train room, and our two year old loved it! She was pretend cooking and playing with the train. I will say it's definitely a distracting room if you want your little one to eat, but our little was hungry so she would come take a bite and go back and play. I got the plate with eggs, sausage and pancakes, I got regular butter milk pancakes because I wasn't sure our toddler would like the other pancakes because she's such a picky eater. The pancakes were very nice and fluffy. The eggs and sausage were good, but you can't go wrong with sausage and eggs. My husband got the chicken fried steak and a side of biscuits and gravy, and I had a bite of his, and it was amazing. I would highly recommend it if you're hungry because it's not a light meal. Breakfast at one of my favorite spots. I was afraid this restaurant wouldn't be able to survive the pandemic. This is my first visit in around 2 years. I was glad to see they were busy. I decided on the Danish Sampler for breakfast. It's the same as the Valhalla Breakfast Special except I get a Danish pancake instead of hash browns. The pancake is thin like a crepe. It's folded in half in the photo. It has a nice homemade flavor. The aebleskivers are like hush puppies. I know they are made in special pans on the stove, not fried like a typical hush puppy. The sausage has a slight onion flavor. They say taste leaves a lasting and powerful memory. Today's breakfast brings me back to simplier times. read more

Early Saturday we got up and headed up north to our first destination, breakfast.  We didn't do much research before our trip but enough to know where we wanted to eat and some of the things we wanted to see.  I came across Valhalla on here on Yelp.  The reviews were good, the menu sounded yummy and the pictures looked great so this was our spot.  It took us about three hours to get here and by the time we did we were hungry.  Visalia is a cute little town, so the wait was short before we were seated.  Oh! I almost forgot to mention, that we got surprised with a neat little tutorial before we were seated on how to make Abelskivers (round danish pancakes).  We even got to try some too!  They were delicious and a neat start to our experience here.  I decided on the banana walnut pancake platter with scrambled eggs and the homemade patty sausage.  My Hubby got the blueberry streusel french toast platter with the link sausage.  Overall we liked the sweet items we chose but the savory items left something to be desired. read more

Great Swedish breakfast stop. Went with the family after an early morning t-ball game. Quint, clean little place, where the kids can enjoy different toys until breakfast comes. We ordered eggs, pancakes, bacon,sausages, hash browns and wheat and sour dough bread with their homemade jam. Everything was cooked perfectly, but having a cold glass of milk with breakfast is a must for me, they delivered there too. I placed an order for a group of people, and the quality of their food was tremendously lacking. The blueberry streusel French toast was horrible. The blueberries were canned blueberries, and the toast is dry, not moist and fluffy. The chili Verde omelet didn't have chili Verde. It was just cheese and green bell peppers. I asked for a side of avocado, and they gave me three slices for a charge of 1.29. If I were getting three pieces, I would have told them to keep them. But sadly, I ordered to go and was charged a fee that added up to $4.50. I Don't care if it's sustainable boxes or not. They get them at wholesale and are ripping off their customers. I'm incredibly disappointed in the food and the quality but also the ambiance of the Restaurant. I should have just done to IHOP or Dennys. Save your money go elsewhere. read more

Thankful to simply be able to dine out again! Recently reopened post COVID and boy are you in for a breakfast treat! We started off with French toast for the table. We all agreed they were above basic, tasty and worth trying again. We ordered the 2 egg breakfast with added bacon, avocado toast and a side of their original aebleskiver danish pancakes. Everything was cooked as requested, fresh and delicious. My favorite part of the meal were the crispy hash browns and their homemade jam. I've had plenty of Swedish pancakes the best in Solvang. I really wanted to like the Swedish pancakes here. Unfortunately, the pancakes came to me over cooked with one side darker and had a spongy texture. I ordered the Danish sampler. The scrambled eggs were ok and the sausage was the only thing on the plate I enjoyed. The Aebleskiver was nothing to rave about and firm, tasted almost like a corn dog breading. My sissy and I stopped in for a late breakfast, brunch really. It was 1:15 on a Friday. The restaurant is a bit cave like but decorated as you'd expect to see in Europe. My sister ordered eggs, sausage and hash browns. I'm pretty darn sure the sausages they served were Aidells chicken apple sausages. They did not look at all authentic. I ordered a bowl of eggs over a biscuit with gravy. It was your standard fare. Nothing spectacular. The Aebleskivers we shared were plain and a bit dry. It is located in downtown Visalia California. Very easy to find. Being that today has been a rainy day the traffic was light and parking was a breeze. When u walk up you might think. This is a restaurant? Because it is also a gift shop. They have some really neat things inside. The restaurant is located off to the right as you walk in. I could not get over how clean and well painted and just lit up it look. Super clean. We were seat pretty promptly and given menus by a really nice waitress. Drink orders were taken as well. They offer brunch as well as breakfast. The menu is really something. Nice choices. I haven't had crepes in years. Let alone a Belgian waffle. Which is what we ordered. Along with eggs and bacon. The food arrived pretty quickly and looked amazing. The food was all prepared excellent and exactly the way you would expect. The prices were very reasonable for being located downtown. The waitress was so sweet and told us about the history of the restaurant and introduced the owner as he was walking by. We had a pleasant chat with I'm as well.
