    Tacos Al Gusto Plate

A beautiful addition to south Glendale! It's a one stop shop not only for all of your grocery and household needs, but they have an entire buffet of fresh food both meat and seafood, made to order as combination platters. There's an entire Mexican candy section, fresh sweet breads, beautiful pottery and a fresh floral section. The food was delicious, service was friendly and the store as a whole was in immaculate condition!

I've been waiting for Vallarta to open and it exceeded my expectations! It's still very busy as they just opened this week but they have fresh pan dulce, tortillas, hot food bar which includes so much. Fresh fruits and vegetables, sushi, tamales, guacamole, salsas, salads, ceviche, agua frescas etc. literally so much is made here fresh and tastes great. The employees are super friendly and despite it being so busy the store was very clean. We bought a few of their pan dulce and it was very fresh and tasty. The hot food bar was really great and full of flavor. Their tortilla chips made in house are so good along with their fresh salsa and guacamole. Everything we got tasted fresh with good flavor. Prices seemed on par with other grocery stores as well. I'll definitely be here often!

Great new store! Lots of very interesting things to look at. At the grand opening they were giving samples of their corn tortillas and they are excellent. I bought a few salsa and some corn and flour tortillas. They had a lot of nice selection of fruits and vegetables and so many interesting things to try. They had an entire wall of dried chilies. Parking is a bit rough so be prepared to wait for a spot.

I was excited to have a Vallarta Supermarket nearby. Even though it was about a 30-minute drive, it was totally worth it. They had everything I needed, and I was so happy to finally find fresh bolillos. The store was very packed, which wasn't surprising. My only complaint is the parking lot. It was pretty hectic trying to find a spot.

We ate at the Cocino inside the market so that's what my review is based on, not the actual grocery store. It's relatively new so it was pretty crowded and hard to find a place to park. We ordered The Carnitas Plate and a chili relleno. Also we bought a red chili beef tamale which you purchase adjacent to the order counter. The chili relleno was huge and my husband liked it. The tamale had very little flavor, but the texture was nice. Be sure to add some salsa to the top. The Carnitas plate was good and the rice and beans were tasty. The meat was tender and not dried out. Overall, the wait was long, but the food was good, not great. If you're in the area I'd give it a try, but don't drive out of your way to go to it.

I drove in from the east valley (24 miles) to check this place out. A newly opened Latino focused market from California, that just had it's grand opening on Wednesday, Jan 14, 2026. Needless to say, it was very busy with folks checking out the new place and getting food from the various areas. This is not the usual Latino focused market that I have seen in Phoenix metro area; granted, I just may not be aware of others. This place offered what appears to be fresh guacamole variety section, various ceviches. They also offer a fresh prepared food bar, which was packed with people waiting to order food. I picked up some of the fresh ceviches and guacamole. Since this is a new store, everything was nicely stocked and very clean. This is a great addition to this area and I hope they are successful and expand outwards in the metropolitan area. Until then, I will always stop by when in the area.

I love the market so far. Have been here multiple times since it's open and have enjoyed from the drinks to the meat department and the fresh produce as well as the panaderia with the fresh bread they made in the morning. The only complaint I do have is the price changes with the meat but it's really common in most markets as especially since is it new to the area but we always enjoy coming here and the vibes are always great here with good music and good decorations, always nice and very clean . All the employees are so nice and super friendly all the time we been here.

Yes, she was training, but why did she stop serving when I got to the front? There was no one behind me, so that was a bit offensive. Like I, specifically, was unpleasant to serve. I ordered my chicken and went to pay. I had two pre-packaged salads in my hand but she said I couldn't pay for those there. Funny how not too long ago, a gentleman at the deli helped me and told me he could ring up additional items as long as it had a scannable barcode. Ok, fine. I'd like to just take it all and pay for it at the regular checkout. WRONG! I have to pay for my chicken at the deli. It forces me to make two transactions. It forces me to waste more of my lunch break. Oh well, I got back to the office with 5 mins to spare, so its a good thing the chicken was small enough to inhale without chewing.

I'm going to add photos here to prove my point. The Starbucks itself the people in there there's…read moreactually three good working people in there the fourth one is questionable and the rest are completely out of it. I've been frequently in this place for 10 years and I slowly seen it decline as a managers , not the staff working the kiosk but the managers have f***** it over . They keep cutting more and more people out and then expecting the people that are there to take on the jobs of the people they cut out . When I first started this place before there was three to four people there all day there was never any backups on the line service was great then they cut one then it became two to three people then they cut another then it became two to one people . This is not on the Starbucks people itself it's on the management cutting people . See to the average person this makes no sense and they don't even bother to look at that fact but someone like me who has a master's degree in Psychology with a focus in HR , and 50 years of experience on this planet to know when management is shafting its workers. Furthermore the management team I often see them standing around doing nothing , at best they'll pretend like they're wiping rails or pretend like they're stocking shelves but you can walk by the managers and walk them and watch them and you'll be lucky the entire length of the aisle if you see them put one item on the Shelf while the other stalkers are f****** stalking 30 or 40 by the time you exit the aisle. There used to be a guy there named David Lee who was the manager he actually worked , his issue was though that he didn't know how to delegate responsibility he tried to take it on all himself while this is an admirable trait it's not conducive to productivity anymore than not getting your hands dirty to do stuff. Now one thing I can tell you is a person will dress for the work that they're going to do. The last few managers have dressed and dress clothing which would make you think that they were going to do manage oil stuff. However most of the Departments or short on people to do the job , so why do they have now hiring signs up front if they're not hiring? The major issue with this store and I'm not going to say any others cuz this is the one I frequent the most is that the manager makes things look good on paper then they demean the employees who actually runs that place not them it's the work of the employees that run it and they take on more than when they're contract their employment contract agreed they would take on , by having to pick up the work of the other people who will let go just so these managers can get paid. And when you approach them they blame it on the manager before and this continues on they've had I believe six managers in the last 10 years . And my time one manager stayed at one store if it's succeeded it's because they made it succeed if it's failed it's because they made it fail. So while people are wanting to employ or blame the employees maybe they should take a deeper look at what's going on here . Glad to not everybody has the training that I do but to be honest I've been across this United States and three other countries and I've seen this type of crap play out. These managers only want the money and none of the work and so they shun the work on other people and blame the failure on the manager that came before them. The district managers are no better they come in and just shoot the s*** with the managers rather than ask them serious questions like this latest one I believe his name is Luis dresses like a middle eastern pimp stands around talking with the women who are assistant managers drinking coffee and I only come in there once or twice a day and almost every time that's how I see them . What is the chance that I come in when at random times and cast them doing that and it not be the norm?. Furthermore why doesn't the union send in people secretly to see and observe the same thing I'm doing? They would see a lot of breaches of their own Union contracts , but instead I've heard managers announce that inspectors were coming in and then tell the lower employees they need to get things together and make it look right on things that they f***** up on in order to fool the ones who are inspecting. When a district manager comes in why didn't they notice that they had lost a person and the bakery and then contact that person and ask them why they lost another person in produce who was also a lead why didn't they contact that person and ask them why they've lost countless people in their pickup Department why didn't they contact those people and ask them why in order to solve the problem then why didn't they ask their own manager of that store the Middle Eastern pimp why the f*** he wasn't in the office trying to hire people to replace those instead of outside laughing and carrying on with them? This is why I say the district manager fails also .
