It was cinco de mayo so I understand it's busy, I am not satisfied at all my order was incorrect and when I called back the manager stated she couldn't fix because I didn't check.to make sure it was correct. We stopped in since we had not visited this local restaurant. The pricing of their items is very reasonable. The food was good. The guacamole was very fresh. The margaritas were good, well balance in the taste. Our server was attentive but not too bothersome. She stopped by to make sure we had what we needed. The decor is nice but somewhat loud. The food seemed fresh, but it was served at a cool temperature, which took away from the texture and enjoyment of the rice, beans, burrito, chimichanga, and quesadilla. The meats were all far too salty, and the only noticeable seasoning was an overwhelming amount of salt, making them nearly inedible. Our waitress was friendly but lacked warmth and character. Overall, the food was missing the authentic flavor and taste I'm used to from Hispanic cuisine in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Cuba, Mexico, and Puerto Rico). Unfortunately, there's no reason I would spend my money there again. I couldn't agree more to that last review. "It blew us away" because it really did. I wasn't expecting it to be that good. we eat out ALOT and this Mexican restaurant was top tier. I ordered the melted fondue cheese , the avocado appetizer , the birria burrito & the green enchiladas and like 5 other dishes (were a big family)... by far best enchiladas I've had. I literally tore it up leaving nothing behind lol. Even the rice (which I'm not typically crazy for) was all gone. Definitely coming back! read more

We tried Valle Grande Mexican Grill today for the first time, from the time we walked in it was a great experience. Our server Kealee was quick, knowledgeable about the menu & made some great recommendations we enjoyed. The food came out hot and quick. We got the El Jefe Dip, recommended by Kealee & it was yummy, it had steak and chorizo with every bite. We also ordered the Birria tacos, which were excellent! It comes with tomatillo sauce, tomato sauce and a broth. I got a side order of sour cream which was a game changer. Also a plus.. the bathrooms were very clean. Overall our experience was 10/10. Then the food is creative, well above average with a mixture of classics but also unique combos. We had the loco pollo--peppers and onions added, yes please, and the chimichanga plate. Well prepared, very tasty, not overly spicy. They know their audience Also recommend the choriqueso--salsa was a bit bland for my taste and the choriqueso racketed up a bit. This place blew us away. We brought a group of almost 40 people for dinner. They allowed us to order off the menu and then pay individually, which was incredibly accommodating. Our server was astounding - she was organized, pleasant, and never seemed stressed by having to take orders for such a large group. I don't know how the kitchen managed to get all our food out so quickly, and everyone loved their dinner (it's not easy to please almost 40 people!). Cute little mexican joint on the outskirts of Selma in an unsuspecting strip mall in Valley Grande. Immediately after sitting we were brought chips and salsa. The salsa was nice, definitely homemade but not too spicy or bland. The jury is out on if the chips were house made or not, but they can be forgiven. Large soft drinks and waters came quickly and were refilled whenever they noted we had drank about 25% of it. The queso dip we got was pure cheese, but it was cotija cheese. Could have used some jalapeno or tomato, something to give it a bit more than just mild cheese flavor but it was house made and that is awesome. I got the Valley Grande taco salad and it was a perfect size, not too big and not lacking either. Beef was the only option, which was fine I asked for beans instead. Nicely seasoned guac, salsa, lettuce tomatoes, and a homemade shell completed the salad along with another sprinkle of cojita. The re-fried beans on the side were made in house and had some whole beans interspersed through them. The waiter did not hesitate to offer separate checks before we ordered and everything came out incredibly fast. They also had a great selection of beers, wines, and tequila. For kids they have placemats with activities and a gumball machine where if they get the color of the day, their drink is free! read more

I went to the Valle Grande restaurant after a visit to historic Selma, Alabama with my family and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting to have mediocre road trip food, but instead I was welcomed with authentic Mexican cuisine! This is my new "Hot Spot" to stop while I'm in the Selma area ! Located just on the outskirts of Selma in Valley Grande, this seems to have it all in a Latin Restaurant ( really well prepared meals, excellent service and great family atmosphere). The Owner and head bartender is also a really good Mixologist" that can prepare you a great drink that also looks spectacular with all of the many garnishes he can create ! If I could rate a ZERO I would! The food was terrible! I got the nachos. The nachos were prepare by just melting tr cheese instead of preparing a cheese sauce to go over the nachos. The waitress only came to the table twice. I should of complain to the manager but it probably would not have made a difference. I do not know how this place is still open... read more
