I ordered the asada fries at lunch time from this place for the first time and I'll say this will be my first and last time I'm ordering asada fries from this place. Everything that in it doesn't seem fresh, the salsa and guacamole seems a day old and the fries was stale. This asada was flavorless. I was looking for a place to have lunch I ordered a mixed fajita it was delicious, it came with rice and beans. The portion was humongous so I had to take some of it to go. The service was good, courteous and helpful staff. I came on a Sunday so it was busy and I had limited time for my work lunch and took longer than I expected. I really enjoy the Camarones Rancheros, Filete Chipotle (I am not even a fan of chipotle flavor but it's really mild), Chile Rellenos, Aguachile (delicious but it could be spicier) Tacos Gobernador, Molcajete (green sauce. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Hanford area, we had posole and the chicken and shrimp Molcajete both of them were fire. Definitely recommend them. The price are very fair. The service is excellent. They're very fast and getting your food to you. The servers are very polite, and very friendly, I definitely would recommend this place for family and friends and anyone that would want to eat some really good Mexican food for sure no doubt hands up and summertime. It is kind of muggy in there being that the AC doesn't work too good but other than that, I know they have live music on certain days, it gets packed sometimes as well. Authentic Mexican food, speedy, and nice customer service. It was very busy inside but we were always checked on by the waitresses. Their carne asada was especially flavorful. When you're done eating, just ask for your tab and go to the register to pay. 6 years ago I wrote a good review for this place unfortunately I can't say the same For my experience today. Since I walked in at 8:55am I was asked to wait outside since they were not open yet when all doors were open and they could have just sat me down already. Then my daughter's Apple juice was mostly water which this has happened during previous visits and they would usually replace it with a small bottle of apple cider. When my mother was trying to get the waiters attention she ignored her and was too busy chatting with other staff. The waiter was rude when I told her about the Apple juice being watery. She did replace it and then never returned to our table again to check in or to refill our coffee. I then had to get up to ask for vanilla creamer and the waiter said they didn't have any where later I saw another waiter taking vanilla creamer to another table. All this happened while we were the only party of 3 there it was towards the end that another party arrived. I did ask to speak to the manager. I was very disappointed for the bad customer service there. I don't think I will be returning. read more

My husband and I tried this place after trying unsuccessfully to order from our usual places (no one would answer the phone or Postmates order would be cancelled). We were very pleasantly surprised! The service was incredible, it was packaged up very well with chips and salsa included, fast and fresh. I ordered the two crispy tacos and the meat was seasoned well and delicious. The rice was so fresh and flavorful - the best I've had in a long time. My husband ordered the carnitas plate. He loved the meat! The flavor was incredible and he loved the rice, as well. First off all I wanted a crunchy ground beef taco and ground beef enchilada, and they don't offer those combinations on the menu. I asked the waitress instead of the 2 enchiladas could I get a crunchy ground beef taco and enchilada, rice and beans and she said yes. Brought the food out and there was no cheese in my taco. I was like ok that is weird, but I asked her for cheese, and she kindly brought me some out. Little itty bitty cup but that was fine. Then I got my bill. They charged me everything separately. I paid $7.00 for rice and beans, $4.00 an enchilada, $4.22 for a taco and $3.00 for a sprinkle of cheese. First off she should of informed me everything would be charged separately, and that cheese is what got me. I've never had a crunchy ground beef taco that didn't come with cheese. $3.00 for a sprinkle of cheese is a rip off. Never going back there. The worst time I've EVER had. We went there for my birthday & I brought in 20 people & they stuck us in the bar area with a lot of very loud people & we couldn't hear anything other than yelling, then our waitress was extremely rude to my niece & mother in law. After the food was brought out we 1 never saw her & as we needed refills we got them ourselves & 2 my food consisted of burnt dry beans , over cooked shrimp & all & all just really crap food. After sitting there trying to get her attention as she walked by us over 3 times I finally got up & got our to go containers & then we waited in the extremely loud room for another 30 minutes to get our tickets & at that point I went to the front desk & requested our tables tickets only to wait another 30 minutes before getting our tables tickets. I just have to come here and tell you about an experience I had with a local restaurant. I'm not happy at all with this place!!! A month ago I set out to find a place where I could have a surprise bday get together . Have a few drinks and I wanted to order a party tray. Well did you know that you cannot eat said party tray at the restaurant? I surely didn't and maybe VALLE GRUELLENSE should of let me know that before making me pay a head of time for a party tray and then calling me day of the get together to let me know that the owner said we could not eat the party tray there. We had to order off the menu. I just don't understand this logic. The day we went to the restaurant to talk to them about the party tray and having it in the bar area, the waitress not once told us that. She even suggested how many trays we would need for the amount of people. Which was 12. She told me that I had to pay in advance for the tray and that we could come in half hour before and decorate the tables. She stated she couldn't let us make a reservation. It's first come first serve on the weekends. That's totally fine. I get that. So I paid for tray and everything was set. Yesterday, day of event I get a call from someone there and they told me owner said no. You cannot have a party tray for the event. Everyone would need to order off the menu. First of all I don't know about y'all but I don't have money like that. Lol I explained to her that invitations had been sent out and that it was your waitress who gave us wrong info obviously. She just apologized and said sorry owner said no. As they only spoke Spanish I was not able to talk to her directly. The waitress was the go between. Can someone just explain this logic to me. I'm ordering $100 part tray and they were gonna make another $200 to $300 in drinks from us. They make more money on their drinks right? So I made them refund me for the tray and I have vowed to never eat there again. They lost out on about roughly $300! Guess they have enough money and don't need mine! Lol This is how they treat their customers. They will not be getting anymore of my money!!!! They should have just sucked it up and honored what I was originally told. But they chose to ruin and surprise bday. Needless to say I had to rush around and let everyone know we had to change locations to our house. Then I had the task of getting food and cooking here. Extremely disappointed. Super unsafe. I ordered for take out three items, all vegetarian. One item was 3 cheese enchiladas for which they told me to try two with red sauce and one with their green sauce. They mistakenly gave me all three with green sauce and forgot to tell me that their green sauce is made with meat. 15years without eating meat until today....not by choice. Probably one of the best in Hanford. The seasoning of the food was just right. Friends described the mixed fajita as being one of the best they've had so far. The flavoring was good, the veggies weren't overlooked, and the meat was plumpy. Tortillas were homemade. Drinks were good. Big, open space. There's a bar in the center. Clean interior. Lovely decor. Very welcoming. Owner put a lot of thought into the place. Pricing is decent, very similar to several restaurants around town. There are daily specials you can ask about. Definitely a place we'd like to keep in Hanford. UPDATED: Just dropped a star because the quality dropped. They gave a blended margarita that did not look like their blended. Wait was long, and they are grossly understaffed for such a popular restaurant, but the food was undeniably good. Ordered a carne asada burrito, mixed grill fajitas, shredded chicken taco and chile verde chicken enchiladas. We all enjoyed everything, and the portions were huge. The corn tortillas were hand made, the red and green salsas were packed with flavor, the best salsa I've ever eaten. Extremely flavorful food, tender meats and fresh vegetables. I will consistently return to this restaurant when I visit home, but will make sure to order to go. Even during coronavirus this place was packed. There was no rhyme nor reason to the structure. Some people waited to be seated while others sat wherever they pleased. It really was a catastrophe organization wise, but I noticed the food was consistently coming out of the kitchen perfectly prepared and all the patrons were happy. Update to previous review;... I have eaten here in past and enjoyed the food. Over the last couple of months my husband and I ate here, and were sadly disappointed. The restraunt was also not as clean as previous visits. We had shrimp fajitas that were sad to say the least. Hard overcooked on one side, raw on other side. And last time I ordered chille rellenos they didn't even bother to take out the seeds, and very little cheese. After these 2 bad experiences, we won't be returning. read more

This past weekend, I was in Hanford, California to visit a Mexican restaurant, Valle Grullense. I have heard a lot of wonderful things about this restaurant and when I hear they have great burritos but also a lot of variety of dishes, I had to check it out! When I went to visit the location, I was quite surprised as this was the place that was once known as "Golden Corral' when I was a young child. It was once a steakhouse that would benefit from what was the original mall location long ago. And then it would become a Chinese restaurant and would have different ownership throughout the different decades after. Inside, you are greeted and were told that we can sit anywhere. Once we met our waitress, we were given tortilla chips and salsa and given a menu. Once we ordered out beverage and food, just looking at the photos, we couldn't wait to eat. I have to say that customer service was wonderful. The waitress answered my questions, gave me recommendations and also was happy that the restaurant was clean. We ordered numerous things on the menu, from nachos, tacos, a California burrito, a breakfast burrito and more. And everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The nachos were full of meat, avocado, sour cream and cheese. The California burrito, I asked for grilled chicken and it came with french fries, pico de gallo, sour cream and avocado. I asked for a chorizo breakfast burrito and you got two small homemade tortilla and the toppings are on the plate, chorizo, potatoes, bell peppers and beans. I'm not sure what I ordered but it was like a soft taco with fish and shrimp and that was delicious. I was already to full to eat the burritos, so I took those two home and ate it later. But I was quite pleased by the fact that they had so many offerings. For some restaurants, having too many selections is typically not wise. But in the case of Valle Grullense, it's a restaurant setting that offers variety. Especially for those who want something different, such as a seafood dish, may it be salad, stuffed dish or dessert. There is a lot of things offered and should appeal to those who want to try different things but also warranting a return back to the restaurant. I felt the dishes were absolutely delicious, I enjoyed the restaurant so much that I am coming back. Great food, great customer service, clean restaurant, clean bathrooms and warm environment, Valle Grullense definitely gets my recommendation! read more
