We used Rayo Wholesale because our contractor had an account with them. We thought that they would be less expensive than a retail flooring company, but they were not. Our salesperson CJ was really helpful, but she has left the company. Everything was difficult with them. We had to get a cashier's check because they wouldn't put the hardwood charge on a credit card or take a personal check. For a smaller purchase (the stair nose pieces) they wouldn't take a credit card over the phone so I had to go into their store. The technology there is very outdated. My contractor over estimated the amount of hardwood we would need, but Rayo considers hardwood to be "special order" and would not take a return even with a restocking fee. I ended up spending more money here and had to jump through their hoops. Would not recommend. read more

This is where our contractor told us to go. Sales person did not know the products at all. Manager that helped was a fast talker trying to distract you from unlisted prices. They have to check every price-not marked on the products. They have samples on the floor of tiles that were discontinued and unavailable. Took us 3 samples to find one they actually could get. When tile was finally chosen, we were told it was back ordered. In the mean time, we were not shown what the tile would look like on the shower wall. It was not a good look. They would not take the unused tile back because they labeled it "Special Order." We were never told it was a special order. They did the same with the floor tile we chose. Never did they tell us it was special order. Of course, in the small print, special order cannot be returned. They are in it for the money, not for the customer. We will never use Rayo again. We bought our flooring somewhere else. Our contractor will no longer use them as well. Either go in and ask lots of questions or you will get screwed. Would not recommend at all. read more

Unhelpful, Rude and Dishonest We went to Rayo because our contractor had used them in the past. Never again will we give them any business. While shopping for flooring, the sales clerk could hardly be bothered to check on things or answer questions. We were definitely putting him out. We did make a purchase and then overheard the two clerks making fun of the man who does the loading. Calling him "she" and the feminine version of his actual name, giggling like two 7th graders. After finding the flooring didn't work for our project we returned it and asked the clerk specifically if there would be a restocking fee to which he said "no". 2 weeks later on my credit card statement I'm out a few hundred bucks and the management didn't even care that the clerk gave me bad info. It was in the fine print. I'll give them that, but I will never give them any future business. read more

The saleswomen was not only incredibly rude (to the point of asking us to leave because our baby started to cry) but also had zero knowledge about the products she sells. I went to this place because my installer said I would save money over Home Depot and Lowes Met with a salesman who didn't give me his card or name, and proceeded to tell me that those companies buy huge and can sell cheap his reterick was confusing but went to his office to look at prices and go over a photo of what I liked and realized I still may have samples in my trunk if my helper hadn't removed them yet....took me all of a minute and a half to go to car and left hood up for him to see samples and went back to ask him to come and see but he was on the phone now so I stood there for several minutes to wait while I thought he would hang up....I finally sat down to await his attention as intended to make a purchase....he continued on the phone never even glancing at me and totally doing a selling conversation ... after several minutes of being ignored...yes ignored.... I stood up and said Good Bye ...I will not go back... Home Depot is affordable and they wanted my business ! Shame on that salesman! read more

RAYO -- was Amazing!! I had to pick tile for my mother's floor...and lets just say....it was no easy task. The crew there was incredibly helpful and pulled out so many samples for me to look at AND listened to my hesitation about which pattern looked the best. Stay Away! Consumer or Contractor- makes no difference. They stand behind nothing and treat everyone like dirt. I provided them probably a dozen large, commercial orders from my work and always received pretty poor communication and "fuzzy" details (in other words, dishonesty). I made the mistake of using them for a personal job and they refused to stand behind a faulty product- not even for exchange. They started dodging my calls and acting like it was a real stupid idea to treat repeat customers like you care a little. Eventually the flooring manufacturer stepped in and owned up to the problem. I purchasd hardwood flooring from RAYO WHOLESALE Flooring and used an installer "Moses" that they "highly recommend" With-in 90 days the new flooring started becoming unglued in several areas (developing air pockets). Patrick at Rayo says it is not Rayo's problem and I should contact the glue manufacterer, even though they also sold me the glue. In short, Rayo doesn't warrent or provide any support for the products they sell Be warned, if you use Rayo and there is any issue the loss ($4000 in my case) is entirely yours as RAYO WASHES thier hands of you as soon as they collect the $$. This is a bad business model and people in SD County need to be warned. Companies that won't in any way,support the products they sell shouldn't be in business. read more

So extremely disappointed with Rayo. & their service. They forgot to place our order until we had to pick it up. The worst thing is they never owned up to it or took any responsibility for it. They showed very well that they did not care about how much they screwed our project up. Knowing what that my family would be out of a place to live for a week now because of their screw up. & Even when they messed up they couldn't give us an exact day and time our order would be in. We were referred to Rayo by our Carpet Installer. To be clear Rayo is a wholesale warehouse and is not intended to be a retail open to the public type of business, they primarily deal with contractors. When we arrived we started looking at different types of carpet for a couple minutes and then we were greeted by Ian who is the manager of the Oceanside store. When Ian found out we were not professional carpet contractors but consumers just trying to decide on a type of carpet he asked us some very direct questions and quickly, efficiently and professionally made recommendations. I'm sure our 41.3 square yards of carpet (living room only) was not the best use of Ian's time as we could tell he was very busy managing such a large warehouse. Ian was so helpful and professional and treated us so 5 star that he truly deserves recognition and Rayo is very fortunate to have such a great employee. On top of that we saved over $300.00 and got a higher quality carpet than we would have from H.D. I'm not sure if Ian and his team really want everyone in North County popping in to pick out carpet but if you're looking for a true caring professional ask for Ian. read more
