First of all I am grateful to God that he provides me the opportunity to visit restaurants of my choosing. I visit Valle from Lorena. But today I am so disappointed and sad. I get the medium menudo and eat there. Today I got it to go. It came on a cup a little bit bigger than a small coffee cup. Very disappointed. Came in after a rough night of not feeling well headache, stomach cramps, and even calf Charlie horses but I was craving comfort food. And nothing comforts me more than menudo. This place is my go to for menudo, and once again it did not disappoint. The broth is rich and flavorful, loaded with plenty of trepas just the way I like it. It's hearty, healing, and exactly what I needed. I also ordered the taco al pastor, and it was fantastic...perfectly seasoned with just the right balance of flavor. Between the menudo and the tacos, you really can't go wrong here. Beyond the food, menudo always takes me back to Sundays with my prima, and her kids when we'd get a bowl and share those moments together. I went back to what was one of my favorite restaurants when I visit Waco. Ownership has changed. They charge extra for eggs and the menu says modifications to your order that they feel require an up charge, they will charge you for. I should've taken a picture of it on the menu. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years and never seen anything like it. I understand needing to charge for certain modifications but the way it was worded comes across as if you want to change anything about your order they're gonna charge you for it. The food quality is not awful but has definitely gone down some. Super sad to see this place fall into the wrong hands. We won't be going back here anymore. read more

The food was delicious, however the restaurant itself was very messy. Tables were not properly cleaned off and the floors were not swept at all. Service was friendly, but very slow. The girls could be seen sitting around chatting with each other, on their phones and eating. A simple fix for any restaurant manager. read more

My family is relatively new to Waco and we have been looking for a great Mexican food restaurant. We have been to a few that were ok but today we finally made it to Valle's and we're we ever pleased. The salsa and chips were so good. My husband also ordered some green salsa and it was delicious. We tried menudo, the lingua plate and the pastor plate and we were all so happy. The service was very good and we didn't have to wait long at all. We are anxious to come back and try many more menu items. We have been eating here for quite some time. Restrooms, booths & tables are always clean and the staff is always more than friendly. As patron's enter, most people are asked if they want their usual drink, which shows they have a great following here. Also proves Valle's has a staff that cares. From their huge burritos, excellent fajita's to soups, this place is working to bring fresh chef plated food to the table. There menudo & Faldo de res, (beef & vegetable soup),delicious. The tortillas are made fresh along with the three sauces of which the sauces are served (a couple are served stove top hot) in a truly traditional salsa cup T.C. Anyone should be able to make it out for a salsa bowl full of salsa & not a soup bowl. Oh & the queso is wonderful also. Your mistaking the bowl full of salsa for a bowl full of soup does not constitute a one star review in my opinion. But I understand that was your opinion & we all have one. I usual order the huevos rancheros. My eggs are always cooked perfect over easy. The wonderful aroma's & flavors combine for a very delicious plate. Everything, anything, we order is always on point. Everything time it has arrived where you can see the heat rising off the food. It is very obvious that here at Valle's the menu is not just Chef inspired but authentic Mexico more so than American Mexican food. Sonia & Paul are just two of the many friendly & courteous servers who have taken care of us. I have never been mistreated & in fact one morning during an exceptionally busy rush, my coffee was never refilled & they removed it from my tab with me ever saying a word. To me Valles has done an exceptional job, from menu to staff,showing they want to work hard & serve something above the normal tex-mex which is available on every block in town. I'll be the first to admit that Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in Waco but Valle's is truly some of the best you can get in terms of Tex-Mex in Waco. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and well made. They have great homemade tortillas, their tortilla chips are the best in town, and they have green sauce that is some of the best I've ever had. Wow. What just happened? We went to Valle's for dinner tonight on our ride to Dallas after Moroso's said that they had a long wait. This place is just plain awful. The chips were served with a hot--as in, literally, hot--salsa that was terrible. When we asked for cold salsa, what came out was even worse. We got the chili relleno with chicken, and it was actually OK. The sauce and pepper seemed flavorful, but the guacamole was straight out of a Costco tub. The burrito bravo had beef in it that was about the consistency of leftover play dough. The sauce was fine, but not enough to salvage the poor quality of ingredients. Our server was new; he said it was his third shift, and he seemed completely out of his element. We tipped him well mostly because we felt bad for him. At least the frozen margarita helps keep the sorrow at bay at this place. Don't go here if you have a pretty decent understanding of good Tex-Mex. read more

I know I wrote a 5-star review already, but I want to sing the praises of the soup offerings of the restaurant. So far I've had their tortilla soup and the caldo de camarron (shrimp soup). Both are extremely reasonably priced and are filling enough to make a meal of. The tortilla soup is filled with big beautiful chunks of chicken, and the broth is thick. The white cheese all over the top is an awesome touch. The caldo de camarron is also amazing. It is filled with tons of jumbo-sized tender shrimp, and has nopales in it, providing sweetness and softness to the soup. They also serve it with two tortillas, lime, cilantro, and onion on the side. I also want to thank them for changing their iced tea! Their iced tea is actually enjoyable to drink now, and doesn't have that "off" taste anymore that Clare was talking about in another review. read more

It was a cold November morning here in Waco (finally) and I wanted a nice hot breakfast, somewhere different from where I normally go and I'm so glad we came to Valle's today because I think I just had the best Huevos Rancheros I've had in years, and I eat a lot of Mexican food. And it was today's special, so it was all for $4.50, with no skimping on anything - we received full plates with plentiful portions of perfectly fried potatoes, creamy refried beans, crispy bacon, chunky ranchero sauce with the right amount of heat, and eggs cooked like I ordered. I ended up making four tacos and washed those down with four cups of hot coffee and two glasses of water. Two specials and two coffees/waters for a grand total of... $12.99 including tax. If you want a delicious value, then look no further. If you're on the go, they a have a drive through and I like to get their 3 breakfast taco special for $2.50. Went here twice, will not return because management wouldn't deal with a very disruptive table. I sat down and waited in my husband and began to notice two children who were clearly very young, under 12 probably, and one of them was being very loud and calling the other cuss word names. You could see everyone stop and look to see if dad was gonna do anything but he never did. Everyone was clearly uncomfortable with how things escalated. I did complain to the server who took my complaint back to the supervisor, whom I asked to speak to, but all he did was come to the kitchen window and look out at me.
