Overall, I had a good experience purchasing a BMW from CarMax Gilbert. One of the biggest…read moreadvantages is the no-haggle pricing policy--what you see is what you pay. There was no back-and-forth negotiation, and the entire purchase process was remarkably streamlined compared to traditional dealerships. From start to finish, it took a little over an hour to complete the paperwork and drive off the lot. Llyah was excellent to work with and made the buying experience smooth and stress-free. After purchasing the vehicle, I took it to a local BMW dealership for an independent inspection. They identified a few concerns, including tread depth that was below acceptable standards on three of the four tires and an overdue cooling system flush. The BMW service department suggested I contact CarMax to see whether they would address the issues. A few days after reaching back out to CarMax, I was contacted by Alexandria from the service department. She explained that CarMax generally does not perform preventative maintenance based on age and instead follows mileage-based maintenance guidelines. Because the vehicle had not reached the mileage threshold for a cooling system flush, they declined to perform that service, even though it had been more than four years since the last one. However, CarMax did inspect the tires and ultimately determined that three of the four did not meet their sales standards. They replaced all three tires at no cost, including mounting and balancing. I was surprised they did not feel an alignment was necessary, as I've typically had one performed whenever new tires are installed, but I appreciated their willingness to correct the tire issue without any pushback. Another issue surfaced a few days after purchase when a sour odor began coming through the vents. While trying to locate the source, I discovered a decomposing rat in the vehicle. Combined with the tire situation, this left me with the impression that the pre-sale inspection may have been more cursory than thorough. Despite those concerns, I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the efficiency of the buying process, and CarMax's willingness to resolve significant quality issues after the sale. The customer service was excellent throughout. That said, their vehicle inspection and preparation process before putting cars on the lot could use some improvement. If those areas were addressed, this would easily be a five-star experience.

I paid cash for a vehicle and returned it. I was told they would put a rush on the refund check…read more I've called a few times and get excuses and more run around. It's now been nearly 3 weeks and I think my money is gone for good. This has been a horrible experience. Do NOT purchase from CarMax.

They were super easy to work with and there seemed to be a lot of different selections. One thing to be very aware of is that most of the vehicles on their lots are "buybacks". This means that they are cheaper but they could be considered a lemon and it may be hard to sell or have some issues that come down the road. Of course, there could be nothing wrong with it as some states have very lenient return laws so that the buyback could be for the smallest thing. Just make sure you know what you're getting into as you look for your car here. Of course there's nothing wrong and nothing but. Just want to make sure proper information is provide for you yelpies!

I ended up looking at Hyundai Ioniq 5 N (yes the fast version) before stopping here for 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance. Let me just say, this is by far THE BEST experience. I was able to walk in (no appointment needed) and Christian M was able to help me right away. A quick ID scan and he came back just gave me the keys I'm like what?!? I'm not used to this level of customer service. He gave me quick directions for the test drive route and I was able to follow it step by step by myself. I say the only negative about this place is the lot, they have many vehicles and parking/spaces are limited. As for the vehicle, it was nice and I would jump on it if it wasn't a buyback (branded title) Now I already knew this vehicle is branded before stopping by. I wanted to see if I can find out more on the reason why it was a buyback other than charging issue. Sadly the paperwork didn't provide the additional info. Should you get a buyback? That really depends. The price is GREAT no doubt and if you plan on KEEPING the vehicle long term (as the resale value is a lot lower, do a quick check via CarMax or Carvana), don't mind dealing with potential electricial issues (but they should be cover under warranty) But knowing myself I usually don't keep vehicles longer than a few years. Also I would double check your insurance and make sure it doesn't cost extra. And at the time I haven't driven the Kia EV6 GT (the original vehicle I was looking at) so I ended up passing on this. Also wanted to point out they have the lowest Doc fee that I've ran into ($299) here vs other dealers wanted $699. No add-ons, title fee is $19. Very low sales pressure, extremely friendly staff, I would stop by again in the future when I'm looking for another vehicle.

They have always been professional, courteous, and helpful. I have almost 2 years of experiences with them and have been treated fairly and they have extended themselves in a few cases well beyond what should be expected...back to the reap what you sow. If you need a vehicle for rideshare as I have or a short term rental I would highly recommend this group. I've taken the car in several times for it to be repaired and the same issues arise. This company will text you to tell you that you owe them money but they won't text you to tell you that they are either going to come take your car or they are going to shut your starter off. On top of that, the vehicles that you rent are really old, stinky like old man, sweat and smoke, the interiors are falling apart, as well as the bodies. They might work with you once or twice if there is no work available for a rideshare or gig apps, but it comes at a cost of them, holding it over your head. I would recommend UCars for the same price; they have nice cars, charge the same, and fix any issues the first time you bring it in. I have never had a business text me to ask me this stuff and it's really kind of creepy if you ask me. The text below that is shared was sent AFTER the car was turned in. Nothing about the car and now they're already threatening me with collections on Day 1 of turning in my car due to it not being safe to drive. (Will update with screenshot of invoice). The overall demeanor of the employees here is pretty condescending. From the ladies working in the front office being rude when you tell them that there's something wrong with the car and insinuating that you did something to it, to the financial people who do these kinds of weird practices of texting people after a contract has expired. Stay away, I wish I would've saved my money.
