Dr Wong and staff are great and he provided a reasonable implant when everyone else wanted too much and I was able to eat and smile with confidence. It just recently came out and he and staff accommodated me on my day off. I had another visit with Valley Dental and Orthodontics. I had to have a root canal and a crown. In my experience in the past, root canals were always long and extremely painful. This was the best root canal I've ever had. No pain, out of the office in 90 minutes. His assistant was wonderful, as well the office staff. I think a lot of people can relate when I say that I am terrified of going to the dentist. So I tried to avoid going to one for as long as I could. BUT then I had the worst toothache shortly after I moved to Dublin and it was time for me to find a dentist. I searched on Yelp aggressively and found this place and I was not disappointed. I had to get a root canal on that tooth and I expected to feel the worst pain of my life for many hours during the procedure but I couldn't be more wrong. Dr. Wong assured me it would be quick and pain-free and it was! It took about an hour and I was good! During the procedure he made sure I wasn't in any discomfort, he also let me put in my earphones and listen to music so I could be distracted from all the drilling sound and whatnot. I am definitely still scared but it makes me feel a little better going in knowing what a great dentist Dr.Wong is. Even the staff at this place is wonderful. Everyone is super helpful and kind! Results and service at the top of the game - I found my permanent dentist. Dr. Wong, during my first visit, solved a years long issue that 3 other dentist had fallen short of identifying, much less fixing. My appreciation for the pure talent and skill in Dr. Wong cannot be stated in words. Dr. Wong, with confidence, was able to skillfully, instinctively and intuitively identify the problem and made special arrangements to help me the next day. Turns out a root canal had been the issue (also got a crown). I was in severe pain. It was pain that sent me home from work, and I don't miss work. I had dealt with the pain that would come and go. Prior dentists took x-rays, poked and prodded, sent me to specialists, made recommendations, made assumptions... but never made a diagnosis. One even suggested I pull both teeth and get implants. I'm in my mid 30's. No. That's when I found Dr. Wong by pure luck, or coincidence, or blessing. Some people go to school to learn how to do something and become pretty good at it. Very few people actually find their calling in life. This man is one of the people who do what they were born to do and set the bar high. On top of skill and talent, the office is very personable and genuinely friendly. In fact his whole office and staff carry the same warm and inviting feeling as he does. It feels as if I've known them for years. The level of organization, communication, coordination, follow up and efficiency also exceeded all my expectations. Like I said above, they are at the top of the game here. I would recommend Dr. Wong and his staff to anybody including and especially those dearest to me. I went to Dr. Wong to have a crown per his suggestion. Worst experience of any dentist I've ever been to, I'm sad to say. Not only did he put on a crown and had to do it twice since he made a mistake the first time, which was extremely painful, by the way. He was very rough, so much so, that I was grimacing and yelled aloud. But, he put on a crown without giving me a root canal first. Less than a month later my molar became infected and I had to call him for pain medication. I asked him if he'd be willing to reimburse me for the $563 I paid out of pocket, (my insurance paid $1300) so I could get a root canal with an endodontist, he didn't even have the courtesy to reply to me via text. So, the moral of the story is do yourself a favor and find a gentle dentist who won't hurt you, not complete a job and overcharge you for something that you will need to get redone by another dentist. It's not worth the pain or money. My new dentist in SoCal was gentle, kind, reasonably priced and competent, so that was a consolation. read more

Thanks to Dr. Wong and his staff Katie, I am so relieved that the pain from a non repairable vertical cracked molar had giving me for over two weeks is over. I should say I found Dr. Douglas Wong at Valley Dental Orthodontics, Dublin, CA by accidentally, the Yelp's reviews and my frustrations from wasn't able to get an urgent appointment from the referrals through my general family dentist's office. I am happy that the friendly services that Katie had provided to me. She was able to schedule me to the next day appointment rather than suffer two more weeks of pains! Yesterday, Dr. Wong and his team provided me a very friendly pleasant experience the very first time. Dr. Wong greeted me with his warm Hawaiian smile, he is very patient in listening and examining my urgent needs of extracting of the cracked tooth. Dr. Wong explained the procedure in details prior performing the extraction and did the bone graft procedure to prepare future implant as my General Dentist office recommended. I will be returning for a follow up appointment and cleaning service in a week. His staff also provided me a detail insurance billing for the services up front which is very professional. I truly appreciated. I have some swelling on my cheek where I had the local anesthetic shots few hours after the procedure which expected. With the help of some ice pack, amoxicillin and Ibuprofen, the swelling starts going away now. It's not easy for me to find a dentist that I feel confident and comfortable to work on my teeth. I need to update my review. I went to see Dr. Wong July 23rd 2020. He informed me that I needed a crown for a hairline fracture on my molar. So, he proceeded with the crown sans a root canal. He did not ask or inquire about any of my symptoms. 45 days later I now need a root canal due to my tooth becoming infected. Needless to say, I am not happy that I wasn't offered or referred to an endodontist initially. read more

My husband and I started seeing Doctor Wong about a year ago based on a referral from a co-worker. First let me say that it's always a pleasure to come to our appointments. We really love chatting with their friendly staff, and their reception team is very knowledgeable about insurance and getting difficult claims processed. I sometimes feel like we are visiting friends when we come in versus coming to a doctor's appointment. It's honestly that kind of place. I recently had a dis-colored tooth that needed to be either re-bonded or replaced with an implant. I chose the bonding. I was so pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail and the time that was spent creating this tooth. Dr. Wong'swork was impeccable! It looked like I had a veneer! He has a book that showcases his work and if you see it, you will be amazed by the transformations he is able to do! If you are considering having bonding, implants or lumineer type work done, I would highly recommend Dr. Wong! His attention to detail, credentials and specialization in this area are evident in his flawless work. AND CHECK OUT THE BOOK of past work! My husband has had crowns and other major dental work done over the course of this year and has been extremely pleased with the work completed. I also want to mention a few other highlights of being a patient here: - Office books late appointments two days per week- after 5:00 p.m. (Tuesday and Thursday I believe) - Office is always clean, inviting, lots of great magazines in the waiting area (this is a big one for me)! - I recently had an emergency issue with food trapped in the gum that was causing an infection while I was pregnant (dangerous). I've been seeing Dr. Wong since I moved to the tri-valley in 2005. I've always had great service from both him and his staff. I had an issue with a sensitive tooth and he was able to see me on the same day. The best thing is that he was really honest with me when he couldn't see anything wrong with the tooth. Instead of ordering a battery of unnecessary x-rays which most dentists do nowadays, he told me to sleep on it and if the pain still persists we can do more extensive testing. I'm totally scared of dentists but I feel 100% comfortable sitting in Dr. Wong's chair. My husband and have been coming to Dr Wong since we first moved to the Bay Area in 2006. Before that we moved around a lot so I have been to a lot of dentists. We now have a 10 and 12 year old who have grown up in Dr Wong's care and he is excellent. Every time I walked in Valley Dental & Orthodontics I was greeted warmly. My regular teeth check and cleaning was always done by Shilpa. She is awesome, good skilled, gentle and patient. Somehow she managed to remember my kids' names and ages every time ( I see her once every 6 months) and would ask about them. She's like your old friend and very easy to work/talk with. I have been seeing Dr. Wong for over 4 years and have always been happy with his service and staff. Very friendly. He came recommended by my previous dentist in another state. The only complaint I had was the one time he quoted me $400 for a night guard. I ended up getting one for far cheaper from my previous dentist when I went home on vacation- but that dentist does more of his work in house whereas Dr. Wong sends it out. Dr Wong is my favorite Dentist - ever (and I've had lots). I've been going to him for about 13 years. He does beautiful work, and sincerely cares for his patients. His staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The Hygenists are all good. They are all are gentle, thorough and Friendly. Insurance billing is done quickly, and is always explained. I convinced my husband to become a patient, too. My husband is hard to please, and he's very happy with his dentistry. At 50 something, I thought I was too old for this; however, Dr Wong is doing Orthodontics on me. He's correcting my bite and straightening my teeth. I have been a patient with Doctor Douglas Wong DDS since 1990 and have consistently received excellent dental care. Dr Wong was the first dentist to use ultra small needles and other technique to ensure that my dental needs were handled with minimum pain. Around 12 years ago, he recommended a Snore Guard to help with my breathing while sleeping. It also had a positive affect of reducing my sleep apnea.
