However... as I was looking for a place to just lightly clean one of my late father's watches, I found my reception to be somewhat insensitive. My dad's watch is just an old beat up gold plated, 1961 Bulova. All I wanted was a light clean so I could wear it. I was told since it's not a "Rolex or Cartier" and that's all their watch guy works on, and I should just get a rag and lightly clean it myself. This watch was not about its monetary value, but the sentimental value. I know where not to take my Breitling--and his Rolex, should I ever need a repair. The guy behind the counter stating: "this is just gold plate" as if I didn't already know, was an absolute insult. I didn't ask fo an appraisal; I just wanted to wear the watch my dad wore when I was a child. I'm sure they do good work... but sometimes it's better to just say, "I'm sorry, we don't, but I recommend "business xx" for the service you're looking for." Instead of rubbing on the watch and basically saying, "we don't handle cheap watches." Just another reason I rarely go to downtown McKinney, even though I've lived here for more than 20 years.

But then I got a call... and was told 4 times that my ring was made from lab rubies/diamonds.... it felt like a slight, I know they had to test it but I dont get why she asked if I knew or why I was getting a phone call with that being the primary conversation.... when they were focusing on tightening the prongs.. I was well aware I had a lab grown ruby and diamonds.... doesn't make me any less but it felt like she tried too.. Then im told that my ring will be out for 3-4 weeks if I keep in house, if they send it out it'll be less time... I wanted to think about it, then decide to send it out and im told it'll still be 3-4 weeks.. mixed info but okay sure im still on board... then on that same phone call I ask if they know exactly how long and if I can hold it until they work on it and she goes 'no, why?' And I say 'well it's my wedding ring....' and she goes 'ok, why?' And I said 'because I want to wear my wedding ring' At this point I dont understand why I have to justify wanting to wear my wedding ring...... So then I decide to send my ring out, I get no updates.... I had to message them and ask when it was coming in and then was told 'it comes back next thursday we'll send you updates'.... and they did not... I had to respond today on the day of and let them know im coming, to which they finally responded it was ready... One lady was nice, but the lack of customer service, the remarks regarding my ring and the inability to do as they say and follow up, assures I wont be going back. They did a good job on my ring but im not going back.
