If you want or are looking for a holistic place that can assist you with recommendations on vitamins, or you are experiencing fatigue, the inability to enjoy deep sleep, gut health, fogginess etc. this is the place to visit. We spoke with Marc and he was so knowledgeable and took his time with each person as they entered the establishment. He suggested a myriad of causes to explain why certain vitamins, supplements and multivitamins may not be working and the compounds of vitamins that would grant higher dissolvable combinations within our bodies. Great place to get help with a health problem. Very knowledgeable group. Got osteoporosis and my score went up after taking the pills they recommended. I refused to take the shots that were recommended. At one point there was a class action suit against the pharmaceutical come. So glad I went to Valley Health Mill instead. I came here to pick up two medications that were recommended by my doctor prior to having surgery this year. I was very happy with the selection, service and pricing at Valley Heath Mill. If I had bought them from my doctor it would have cost $54 for the two; at Valley Health Mill they cost $29! There is a lot going on in this store, so it would have been tricky trying to find the medications by myself (just browsing) but I was approached almost immediately by a very nice employee who helped me find what I was looking for. She also took the time to explain the dosage and how frequently I should take each medication. I definitely recommend Valley Health Mill!! read more

Shopped here for many years despite the prices being a bit on the high side because it was convenient. It is a nice little store, but sometimes the products would be past their best by date. Most of the time the staff were very nice and helpful if I had questions. I shopped there so often some of the employees and I got to know each other. So that outweighed the negatives by a long shot. But the last two times I went in, I was followed around the store. I told the employee that I knew what I was looking for, but she stayed a couple of feet behind me and followed me from aisle to aisle. The first time it happened, I thought it was odd and perhaps the person was being overzealous in trying to be helpful, so I went ahead and made my purchases. The second time it was a different person and so obvious that I was being watched for loss prevention and not customer service, that I just walked out without what I came in for. With so many other places to shop, I have no reason to ever go back. read more

I've been to VHM a few times and always felt good about my experience. They have a great supply of helpful supplements and organic items. When I went in today to purchase a few items, I happened to hear a discussion between a customer and an employee where the employee was trying to explain why none of the VHM employees chose to get the Covid 19 virus shot. I was so surprised to hear that and very disppointed that they were willing to put their customers at such a risk. Hearing a discourse on why they didn't choose to get the shot tainted my experience and I left without my items. read more

Love this place! Called ahead of time to check to see if they had an item I was looking for in stock. The sales person who answered the phone was so nice and informed me they carried the item I was looking for. I get to the store and ask for help. Lisa (same sales person I spoke to in the phone) was super nice and helpful educating me on the different brands and alternatives to what I was looking for. I recently went in here for the first time. It was raining, I had my toddler with me, and he was cranky and ready for dinner. But I wanted my potato starch, darnit! At first I was really disappointed that they didn't have bin grains and flours like larger healthfood stores. Or actually, they do have bins, but it looks like they are phasing that part of the store out. But then a nice lady came over to help me (re: make sure my son didn't tear the store apart) and she pointed me to some great packaged products, told me about a good banana bread recipe that I made that night (delicious!), and she was really cool when my son did tear something slightly, and she just laughed it off, not making me pay for it or even making me feel bad. We got out of there and went straight home! I will definitely be making this place a regular in my grocery shopping stops. read more

Valley Health Mill is great! I love that they employ on-site nutritionists to help with your questions and that they are open on Sundays. They also carry the majority of my preferred brands. Yes, they are a little bit pricey, which is the downside, but expected for a non-chain store. I live in Livermore so going to Valley Health Mill is a little bit of a trek. I do go there when my local HFS doesn't carry the brands I prefer or if it happens to be a Sunday (which is more often that not!). I am so glad Valley Health Mill is open on Sundays. It is not a supermarket of drug store where you walk in, grab what you need thinking you know what you are getting. Here you always get one on one consultation from real experts. I have been shopping here for our entire family's meds for years, and have so much joy coming here. Being a biology major myself, Andre (the owner), is a walking encyclopedia and speaks my language when it comes to health, healing, and medicine. The Valley Health Mill is Pleasanton's best health nut store. They have a large vitamin section comparable to Whole Foods. Their personal products are pretty much all available at the regular grocery stores these days if you hunt, but here they are all in one place. Their slim selection of cosmetics are good quality, but few and far between. As a girl with sensitive skin a healthy selection of cosmetics is pretty important to me, but it may not be to everybody else! My favorite part of the store is the grocery section. There are gluten free items, meal bars, protein powders, many dry ingredients in jars like ginger and flour, and a whole bunch of frozen vegetarian and vegan dishes. I can always find something to eat that I feel good about putting in my body. The owner is kind and helpful, and is always there for questions and just to help you check out. I'd love it if the prices were lower, but it is a small specialty store so it's expected! read more

Valley Health Mill is primarily a vitamin and supplemental nutrition store, but they do have a lot of foodstuffs, which is what I go for. Organic Pastures raw milk and dairy, pastured eggs, good organic salt, olive and coconut oil and other staples. Some grass fed beef and bacon, various kombuchas and kvass and kefirs. The staff are very friendly and personable, as well as knowledgeable. I love going there and I'm so lucky that we live around the corner! read more
