I haven't stopped by in awhile and now, the place looks very organized/clean/airy. They even painted the interior of the building which was much needed. I remembered it always looking old from outside. Parking lot is still tight in spaces and chaotic around here. Bakery is always the best spot inside. Food court area isn't huge, but with more investments there, it can turn out great too. I like how they put out all the stuff for sale & deals in designated areas now. Things are easier to spot, in case you want to find bargains. The Chinese New Year stuff are out and it doesn't feel expensive now. Red bag of rice crackers gift set large bag was only $8.88 today. Red envelopes are cheaper than the South Bay Area and other 99 Ranch locations. Checkout lines were clean looking too. It feels like they really did listen to customers needs. 5lbs bag of broken rice under $5 is perfect for porridge. Vermicelli $2.29 and Rice noodle pack $2.99. Not bad at all. No lines or crowds before lunchtime on weekdays. Grocery items are considered costly and overpriced at most 99 Ranch stores. I'm glad to see more sales signs/labels here. Good set up. Peaceful walk. Staffs appear happy in what they do here. The Chinese New Year items are worth browsing through during quiet January month. read more

This 99 Ranch is cleaner and more organized than a lot of the others. They are also the most fair for giving out coupons after you check out( they actually have a coupon giving system posted on the registers. A lot of the other 99 ranch registers just give you however many they feel like giving you). The food court is big but doesn't have a lot of dishes I like. Also, they need to either blast the AC or move their Korean Shingo pear somewhere cooler. They are getting moldy! read more

This Ranch 99 is kinda tucked away toward the back in the same shopping center as Total Wine. Not too crowded and plenty of parking. This one is the 2nd oldest of the three Ranch 99s in the area. Convenient shopping for all my Asian grocery needs. I did notice though this location sometimes misses labeling their weekly sale items. read more

Don't come here for their hot table food! The food is hard and cold and choices are limited. Your only choice is between hardened and dried up fatty pork fried with veggies or fried fish fillet that are so hard even my dog treated it like a jerky. I purchased a pack of fresh noodles from 99 Ranch today and was very disappointed to find they were completely moldy upon opening. The package was within its printed expiration date, so this was clearly a spoilage or storage issue. I have attached a photo as proof--the mold is very visible and the product was clearly unsafe to eat. I had to throw the entire package away, wasting both the product and my money. I expect much better quality control for fresh items. I hope management sees this and checks their inventory to prevent others from having the same experience. read more

Great selection, stank customer service. The cashier was super rude. I told her I needed bags, she asked me again, I said yes please. Then at the end when she finished ringing me up and I paid she just stood there and looked at me. She then asked me do you have bags and I said no I said I needed some, and she proceeded to tell me that I didn't tell her that and then slapped two bags down, charged me and started throwing my stuff in the bags super annoyed. My husband, who was in the store with me, said she had just been arguing with another cashier. I don't know if I was catching strays or if this is how they always treat their customers. I've come here quite a few times when in the Pleasanton area to pick up some Asian groceries. They have most of the things I need - from Asian veggies, instant noodles, curry pastes, hotpot broths, frozen dumplings. However there are some things that are harder to find, including Indonesian cooking ingredients/sauces, and some things that are not so good here (e.g fruit). I don't find the freshness of the fruit to be very good here. One time I was trying to find pomegranates, and they had some here but they were very sad looking and definitely not fresh. I do want to remark that the some of the staff here seem miserable working here. Most of the cashiers are Chinese speaking, so they often chit chat with each other. The other non Chinese cashiers don't really have any one to talk to, and I imagine feel quite isolated. Today one of the cashiers (non Chinese) I interacted didn't even say hi or anything - just took my items, I paid, and ripped the receipt off the register and threw it at me. Maybe she was having a bad day... Overall, this Ranch 99 is average at best. It has most of what you might need to cook a basic Asian dish, but if you need anything more complex/niche, you likely won't find it here. I bought around two pounds of salmon for my cat for $5.99 per pound but my cat didn't eat it, but it ate before with the same kind of salmon I bought from other 99 Ranch location, only this time (salmon) smells bad. read more

I've tried countless things at various different ranch 99s and all are just meh to wishing I didn't waste my money on the food. I got a 3 boxes of hot items here. Chow mein is ok, the chicken wings had ok flavor but you can tell the chicken was old, tofu and vegetable was not good. The tofu smelled bad and the bok choy tasted old. I've been to a fair share of 99 Ranch Markets. I was under the impression that this was the "newest" 99 Ranch in the area and I think it is, but they're utilizing a place that was probably there for years and didn't really renovate it to make it feel "new." Which is fine and dandy if you're just really just wanting to take over a place, but it would've been nice to just give it a bit of a refresh. Going in, it did feel "old." Now did it feel less crowded? Yes. Did it feel like it had fairly the same amount of reasonable items as other 99 Ranch markets? Kind of. I felt like it was relatively sized, but not the largest 99 Ranch Markets I've been to. They did have your standard items as well as the bakery and hot food area which is always a plus. The parking situation was rough. The lines JUST fit my car so if you're lugging around a larger vehicle that's wide, you're definitely going to have to take a little over one spot. There's a lot of parking spots, but it is shared by all the other shops in the area. Like others, it did feel more "clean" and organized than other 99 Ranch markets. So it's a nice calm experience and a nice option for an asian grocery store. I'll have to revisit the Dublin location again to compare and contrast, but it was not a bad spot, just wish it felt a little more new i.e. like the one on Mission Blvd. in Fremont. read more

Unfair practices at this 99 Ranch!! Once again I witness customer favoritism. The person ahead of me has $20 in groceries and a deli item. Cashier takes 3 of her own $2 coupons, and shows them to the customer who nods. She then rings them up to comp his deli purchase. At check out the couple ahead of me spent less than I yet the checker gave them 5 blue $2 off coupons for food from the food court - $10 total, and they happily headed in that direction. She fanned them out so it was clear what was happening. With my receipt, I received one (likely the correct number). My heart sank as I've experienced this very thing before. Great easy and fast shopping experience. Unique goods - large sea food market toward the back. Pleasant shopping experience. Not crowded and almost no wait to check out. This isn't the largest 99 Ranch I've seen - but it still seems to have almost everything that the others do. Unique goods - Hello Kitty cookies and toilet paper or paper towels. If your looking for funny Christmas gag gifts I don't think you could find anything much better. Large sea food section in the back. When you walk around it is a very very intense aroma of seafood. You might feel as if your by the ocean on Fisherman's Wharf. Store was very organized and clean. Shelves stocked beautifully. Only improvement would be to maybe clean near the registers - the spot after food gets scanned and before it gets bagged. It didn't look to good - but it could just be worn paint or worn counter area that can't be cleaned. The kid brother loves these stores and so I'm familiar. I think it makes him feel less homesick to get familiar stuff that he grew up around. East West bank or whatever its called is up front. What more can I say? I came to the store on 3/10 at 7:20pm and cashier had very terrible customer service and the market let her sit at customer service table. I bought a cake and wanted to pay with coins, then the cashier said she don't want to accept the coins and only want I pay with bills. The way she talk like "if you don't have any bill, don't come to the store and buy the food". Not recommend to everyone come. She should deserved 0/5 star. read more

It's probably one of my favorite 99 Ranch stores in the Bay Area. This is also one of the 99 Ranch stores that would give you a one dollar off coupon for every 25 bucks that you spend at the store. As long as you don't visit the store (or any of the 99 Ranch stores for that matter) on the weekend, generally you will not have to deal with the crowd and therefore can shop leisurely. I really enjoy the selection of instant noodles that this store has to offer, especially the Samyang chicken fire noodles. I ended up getting one of the new flavors, and it was the Quattro cheese, which was delicious. And also pay attention to the price tags, as sometimes they would put items on sale. The veggies also are always fresh at this store. I often get my bok choy, broccoli, and chives from this store. read more

The people that work at the fish counter are awful. So rude. Lazy. Asked for a couple crabs with all the legs, they gave me a bag with a bunch of water in it and the crabs were missing legs. This a very specific review calling out a very specific failing of 99 Ranch bakery. During the latest round of food price inflation, they reduced the already pitiful fillings in their dessert breads to practically nothing. I expect red bean bread to have at least one bit of red bean flavor in every slice. Post inflation the dessert breads have like half a teaspoon of flavoring in them. You are much better off just buying jam and bread and making your own, rather than buying overpriced bread with two red beans in it and a faint hint of flavor. Please revamp your baked goods, jack up the price a bit, and increase the quality back to the point where it resembles the names product. read more

I was looking for bamboo shoots to make curry. They didn't have them at the regular grocery store so I thought I would check here. Since they specialize in Asian food, I figured they would have them. Sure enough they did. The prices are reasonable here and they also have hot food you can order. I don't shop here very often but if I'm looking for a specialty item, I will go here. There is almost anything one can need to make anything international from this market! Location: Right next to the Livermore outlets right off the freeway. Easy to get to and lots of parking with many different restaurants around in this shopping center. Service: Great friendly service throughout the store. Helpful employees seeking out customers if they need assistance or have any questions. Food choices: Large selection of dry goods, from ramen noodles, rice noodles, special chips/ cookies. Fresh produce, excellent selection with many household staples. Bakery many desserts to choose from, and both fish and meat counter has ample choices of both fish and meat. Solid 3 stars. Nothing spectacular about 99 ranch but I am glad there's an Asian supermarket near where I live! This location is off the Santa Rita Exit. Plenty of free parking and I noticed the Pleasanton locations of the 99 ranch is cheaper than the Dublin location. There is another 99 ranch market about 3 miles away across the street the Livermore Outlets. You can find a good variety of Asian veggies and fruits, bakery items, household items, frozen foods, meats, etc. There is also food court where you can buy roasted duck/pork/dim sum, won ton soups, rice plates. There's always weekly sales so keep an eye on those. But also, check the expiration dates! A lot of times, the sale items are expired or about to expire very soon. Cashiers are quick but they don't bag your items. Sometimes I feel rushed when they start ringing up another customer's items when I'm still putting my wallet away and trying to shove all my groceries in my bags. Tip: please follow the instructions on the floor when you are waiting in line for the cashier. There's multiple lanes open but for some reason, some customers believe there's ONE line for all and it makes it super awkward if you try to walk up to an empty register. Store always have a stinky smell. Vegetable goes bad rapidly after you buy them from this place VS from Safeway or Lucky, so I am not really sure how they store them at the back. Employee definitely needs additional training as I have seen multiple occasions that they don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom. This review is for the bakery cakes. Went in to pick up a cake as I know they are usually reasonably priced. I typically get tiramisu but decided to try something new this time for my husbands birthday since he likes fruit decided to go for the mango mousse take. I don't really eat much cake but decided to try a taste (and I was dieting) that taste was so good I had to have a whole piece and a few bites from my husbands piece. I'm use to slumming it when Asian grocery shopping. You know, crowded, narrow aisles, cheap prices, fresh-fresh produce & fish & meat, pick your own and bag it up veggies, and 1 to 2 selections for what I'm shopping for. So I take my son's car in for servicing, yes, I'm that type of Asian dad, and discover that a fairly new 99 Ranch is in the strip mall near the auto dealer. Wifey and I immediately head to it after dropping off the car. I've been to 99 Ranch's elsewhere, but this felt like walking into Oz. Wide, uncrowded aisles, numerous check stands, multiple selections for the canned and dried goods that you're looking for, pre-bagged veggies, no waiting on line for meat or fish (noon shopping on a Monday), glistening refrigerated section, big non-pot holed parking lot, ... Yeah, you get the picture. This is a nice suburban take on the urban Chinatown or older Asian grocery store. It's so suburbia that there were more than a handful of non-Asian shoppers walking around like it was routine. Huh? Stop stereotyping as people in Cali are very in-tune with their grocery shopping and definitely accepting in a likely, city, health-inspected, visually appealing, Super Super Market. Yeah, it's a great thing when an Asian grocery store is an accepted norm in a diverse suburb. Honestly, Chinese grocers have been doing the supermarket chain thing for at least half a century in Northern California. From "Food Farm, Bel Air Markets, Giant Foods" in the past to the current "99 Ranch" chain. I tell everyone that I don't trust Ranch 99 for their seafood and meats as they try to slip in old and not fresh produce. Well I gave in one last time and bought two cooked lobsters with an expiration date of 1-2-18 and today it's 12-24-18. One was mushy even in the tail and I threw it away. The second was the larger one and you can see the picture of what I got out of it as the meat had shrunken to at least half of what it should be due to the lobster starving.
