As soon as we walked in, we were immediately welcomed in by Yuni/Yumi? I'm probably getting her name wrong but she was incredibly attentive and friendly. I came in looking for a lip balm as I've recently gotten into a lip balm phase. Yuni was helpful and gave me samples to try their lip balms. I was impressed w/their tinted lip balms as they were very pigmented and beautiful, almost like lipstick but not lipstick. I believe she said they tint it with beets so it's natural. you would never guess it's a lip balm. I ultimately picked the Tortoise one, and feel good when I use it and has the ingredients I like. I like that their lip balms are thick and stays on my lips without needing to reapply often as I've experienced w/another certain brand. Hubby also got a lip balm for himself and a beard oil. We left happy w/our purchases and the excellent customer service from Yuni.

I asked my daughter if she would go shopping with me to find a birthday gift for a friend of mine and she took me to Good Common Sense. I've lived in Pleasanton long enough to remember this used to be the run down Dean's Cafe restaurant. Well, what a great change in scenery and ambience GCS has made. As soon as you walk into the store front you can smell the aroma of essential oils and body soaps. It's like walking into a spa. My daughter gets so excited when entering this store and I can understand why. As we browsed the store we were greeted by an associate and asked if we had any questions. My daughter spotted a salt lamp and had a question about it's features. We found out that the lamp will work with both essential oils and scented wax cubes. My daughter told me this would be a lovely gift for my friend and I followed her suggestion. Great to see that some Good Common Sense has become of the old Dean's cafe. Pun intended! lol

Pretty storefront. Well, located in downtown Pleasanton. I'll definitely be back. This is a great place to get gifts. Everything is so pretty and well presented. All the soap smell really good and are pretty. Highly recommend for Christmas or a present for Easter.

I stopped by the store two years ago to look for a special birthday gift that says luxury, and is also practical. I was greeted immediately by a team member who thoughtfully curated a box of a variety of the store's products. I walked out of the store with the gifts in a cute tote bag that was wrapped with a bow on top. My giftee raved about everything so much that I had to try them for myself (no birthday needed). I have been a regular customer ever since. I especially love the bath bombs, and bath kits. Also, I like to support small businesses that create unique and high quality products. They earned five stars from me, for their fantastic customer service and high quality unique and whimsical products.

Zeus and I have been regulars at Good Common Sense, and it just makes perfect "scents"! Their products are essential for anyone looking to oil up their life. All of the smells and products here are unique and work very very well. The quality is so good, it's "unbe-leaf-able"! The staff is incredible--knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to help you. Wendy, the owner, is a true "scent-sation" who goes above and beyond for her customers. If you're searching for an essential oils store with a perfect blend of quality and common sense, this place is a no-brainer. The go-to's for me: shower tablets (LOVE), hand sanitizer spray, hand soap, face oil, and duh, all of the essential oils! It's awesome. If you don't find an oil you like (hard to believe) Wendy the Wonderful will help craft you something you will.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place- All natural and clean scents and the gorgeous decor, bright room combo! I'm allergic to fragrance so I have to have clean and natural ingredients. They had the 'fall into spice' in the diffuser and it smelled so good and inviting it had us walking into the store right away, and yes, we each got one of that scent for our home diffusers! Staff are helpful! The place is clean, organized, and just beautiful with so many items to choose from! They also rewards program which I'm sure I can take advantage of because I will be back for sure!

AMAZING customer service and great products! The moment I walked in - a girl with pink hair explained the products and how everything was made in house. The products smell amazing and there's something for everybody there. I ended up getting the eucalyptus loofah body bar soap for exfoliating. The store is so cute and love supporting businesses like these!

Very cute store with lots of sustainable body, hair and skin care. I will probably try their bar shampoo and conditioner one day to see what it's all about.

Amazing Store! You walk in and all the smells is just amazing. The girl who helped me was sooo helpful, she was very knowledgeable and recommended really good products. I purchased alot of facial products. My face feels baby soft, my skin looks so beautiful and glowing. A must buy is their Not Any Pore Organic Facial Toner!! That has done miracles with my big pores! I absolutely love this store, definitely a game changer!

Came upon this cute store Saturday. Walked in and immediately smelled this wonderful essential oil aroma of lavender and eucalyptus and was greeted by Jelly. She was very helpful told us about their limited scent which happens to be my favorite Jasmine. My friend and I bought a few things. Used them that night and came back the next day once they opened and bought more of their products. Love that you can bring the glass bottles back and refill it for a discount and you get points every time you purchase something. Met Wendy too. Very nice ladies in the store.

I absolutely love Good Common Sense! I discovered this store right before the pandemic hit, and I'm so glad I did. It's the perfect spot to get a treat for yourself, as well as to find gifts for others. I've even gotten my boyfriend hooked. I used to do this kind of shopping at Lush, but since discovering GCS, I believe their products and packages are all-around much better - better looking and better smelling, and healthier for me and the environment. Some of my favorites from GCS include: shower steamers, deodorant, essential oil blend, bath products (bath bombs, salts, etc), sugar scrubs, bars of soap, cloth face masks, and lip balms. There is nothing from this store that I haven't loved. The staff is super friendly and always there to help you find what you're looking for, and you can see them working on new products in the back of the space which is fun.

They make my favorite bath bombs (I've even started collecting the little toys that come with some of them).

She responded…read moreby telling me there was a price scanner available, which must be new because I didn't know. I was not aware that customers were expected to use a scanner, and I don't understand why she couldn't simply check the price for me, especially since the store was not busy and several employees were standing around. (4 of them) Because of her attitude, I asked the lady in the 1st picture to check me out. I later realized that the same employee who had been rude to me was the manager. Even though earlier she was cleaning the store windows. Which made the interaction even more frustrating. When it came time to check out, I requested that a different employee assist me because I no longer felt comfortable being helped by the manager. I also asked for the manager's name so I could document my experience, but another employee told me she could not provide it. I found that confusing, especially since another employee nearby was openly wearing a name tag. As I was deciding whether to purchase one of the items, I turned to ask my daughter if she was interested in it. The manager made a sarcastic remark that made me feel rushed and unwelcome, despite there being no line and plenty of employees available. I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect when shopping. Asking for a price check and taking a moment to discuss a purchase with my daughter are both reasonable requests. Instead, I felt dismissed, rushed, and treated as though I was inconveniencing the staff. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that other customers receive the level of customer service they deserve.

First of all, they do not turn on the AC even on a hot day. I was sweating so much and was hoping…read moreto get some relief from the hot weather in the store. It felt so hot and stuffy and I wanted to get out of there ASAP. The store was not fully stocked and had empty shelves in the back half of the store so I was able to look through everything quickly. They had really good deals on some Asian hair products I typically buy online, so I was really excited to get some items regardless of how terrible it felt inside the store. I got a hair mask to try so I'm excited about that, but I also tried buying a hair oil I love that was listed on sale for $16.99. A really good price! However, when I went to the cash register, she rang it up as $22.99/23.99 which was original price. When I pointed it out she looked at the deal, took it off and was doing something on the computer, taking some time with the process. She then scanned it again and rang it up for the same price and repeated the total without acknowledging that the sale price didn't register. When I asked about it again, she said the promotion was over. I was really confused because I looked at the sign again and it did not have any information about how long the sale was until. And if it was over, why would they keep the sale sign up displayed? If I wasn't paying attention, I wouldn't have realized and purchased it. At that point, I was too hot and annoyed to question it and didn't want to drag it out further so I bought only the hair mask and took the hair oil off. I think it's quite predatory to have sale prices up and not honor those prices. She didn't even remove the sale price tag off after my purchase either. Although it seems like there's great deals for Asian hair care and skincare products, I don't think I would bother coming here again. There wasn't great customer service and they do not honor sale prices. If you're purchasing an item on sale, make sure to pay attention to how much it is when they ring it up in case you encounter the same issues.
