Our dad was here for nearly 3 years and in that time period there were at least 6 different Executive Directors. We had several meetings about Dad's service plan and his level of care and just when we thought we were making progress they would leave and we were back to square one. The only person who had been there longer than 1 year was the front desk person. So much turnover should be alarming to anyone considering putting a family member here! Other issues we had were his apartment not being cleaned on a regular basis due to "Housekeeping shortage". Sheets were not changed daily, shower assistance was not gives as requested. New meds not given because they did not receive a Drs order, and they never called a family member or the Dr to get this so he went without his new meds for 2 days until we discovered the issue! When the front desk person leaves at 7 pm there is no one to talk to at Bonaventure to check on our dad if he was not answering his land line. So many worrisome issues and not getting the services he had been paying for we decided to move him to another care facility closer to family. Please Do Not Be fooled! Would NOT recommend Bonaventure of Castle Rock. And the food stinks according to our dad. They can't even make scrambled eggs.

The doctors were also wonderful--thorough, professional, and always willing to answer questions and explain things with patience and clarity. Weird management. I mentioned to them their reviews weren't that great and they replied they have a…read more4.7 star google rating. A few days later I saw their several 1 star reviews here on Yelp all disappear and only 2 reviews remained. One 1 star and one 5 star. The 1 stars consistently had a theme of being overcharged or charged for things that never performed. So when setting up the paperwork for their services I made sure it was not on auto payment. To dis-incentivize from paying by check they required some crazy amount upfront as a deposit. Check was the preferred payment but they have a $150 service fee to even start service. They insisted it be paid before anything started, like they didn't trust me to pay it, and offered check and credit cards as payment options. I offered to meet her with the check the morning of the first day of service, but she couldn't meet so i offered to pay by credit card, but to please send me an invoice or request for payment for the $150 (assumably with info of how to provide the credit card payment). After thinking about it more, paying by credit card seemed safer since I saw there were so many issues with others paying for services not executed, but she refused to send an "invoice" and after which she said what was requested is not in their scope. I asked specifically what was not in scope but several months later and still no response. Each Visiting Angels is a franchise so you will get totally different teams with each location. I remember years ago they were so messed up they didn't even return calls for a long time, and when they did they were still super disorganized. I hope if in my lifetime I get a visiting angel some day, that it isn't a revenue driven one, which is the opposite of what an angel is all about. Some may have great experiences with them, but just the upfront process of them being super nice sales people quickly turned into craziness on a dime. Perhaps I dodged a bullet and just saved myself a huge nightmare of a future situation. So perhaps I should feel very lucky. I honestly, with two different bad situations, think this organization is off my list for any considerations ever, and recommend you dig further to ensure they are a "match" for what you are looking for. At $60/an hour for custom care (-at a facility) vs your home) and $47/hr for in home companionship, they seem a bit pricey to me since none are skilled and am sure many are not US Citizens. It has taken me awhile to decide if I wanted to write a review, but still having complications 2…read moreyears later made me feel that a review should be left. Back in 2024 I came to Dr. Clymer with severe foot pain and a bone disorder in both of my feet. I was standing on my feet for long hours of my job and couldn't bear the pain any longer. After imaging, he told me I would need to have reconstructive surgery on my left foot as my condition was severe, and if I didn't get this done I may not be walking well in my 30s...this surgery was completed a few months after I turned 22 years old. He felt confident that him and his team could complete this surgery that I needed and did not disclose that this was more of an orthopedic complex surgery that should have been done by an orthopedic foot surgeon. He did massive reconstructive surgery to my left foot, putting metal in, a tendon transfer, and doing a joint fusion in my outer ankle with cadaver bone. I constantly complained of severe pain for months on end and was not able to advance in PT and get out of my boot. Well, that was because the cadaver bone that was put in wasn't fused to my bones with hardware during surgery and therefore my body rejected it and it did not take. Amongst all this pain, Dr. Clymer and his PT Julie, continued to tell me to push through and that the pain would get better and that I had no restrictions. I ended up slipping in the shower and developed severe pain that went on for several months while being ignored. At 7 months post op after complaining of this pain and no end in sight he finally ordered a CT scan. The CT confirmed a non-union in the joint fusion at 7 months post op to which he then ordered a bone stimulator which did nothing as the cadaver bone had nothing to grasp to. Overtime, the cadaver bone disintegrated and I could no longer walk without a boot. All of 2025 was spent in a walking boot which resulted in a second surgery with a different orthopedic surgeon in August of 2025, almost a year since my first surgery. The new surgeon had to redo my entire foot as my case was so severe and complex he had to get an additional team to help him look at my foot and decipher how to fix what Dr. Clymer had done. I put so much faith into Dr. Clymer and trusted him and his team and did not know any better at the time. To this day in April 2026 I am permanently disabled and worse off now than before the surgery all because this office didn't disclose they can't perform such an intense complex surgery and direct me to an orthopedic. This office could be good for ingrown toenails or orthotics but I highly suggest not getting surgery here as my surgery was not performed well, nor did it have a chance at success.
