I set it up with another place, but there machine broke and they pushed me off further than I wanted. So I called Radiology Associates of Ridgewood because my wife has used them. Setting up the visit: The person on the phone was very business-like. Not warm, but who cares. She got me scheduled for the next day and then the office had another person get me on a call with my insurance company to change the prior authorization to this facility. Visit: Scheduled for 8:30am and told to be there at 7:45am. A pre-checked in the day before so when I got there they sat me in a waiting area and I was brought back before 8am. I got changed and prepped and was in the machine a little after 8am. Facility was clean and I haven't had an mri anywhere else, but it seemed to be up to date. Report: I received the report through their portal by 4pm same day. Second visit: So, after showing up this morning, I realized a prior mri I had was at this facility also. I had thought it was somewhere else. I didn't have any issues with that visit either.

I had a nice experience with all the staff I engaged with. Unfortunately, when they poked me for the contrast screening I was a pit groggy. I came home to realllly bad bruising. The attached pictures dont even do it justice-it was worse days prior to me taking them. This has never happened to me and it was alarming. I understand these things can happen. Since it was a first for me, I walked away not wanting to come back and feeling uncomfortable with the level of expertise this facility has overall.

I told her while the elevator doors were still open that's against my hippa rights and she kept trying to get me to say my last name. I told her I will tell her in the X ray room and I eventually felt like I had to ask her to stop giving me a hard time. She was being lazy and trying to shortcut her job by saying " I like to make sure I'm the elevator to make sure i have the right patient" . MA's are not allowed to say your full name or your birthday in public areas of offices!

Unfortunately, it has been 2 weeks and the referrals department refuses to submit the required forms for my insurance's prior authorization. I have gone back and forth with the office, and no one I speak to can provide an answer as to why they won't submit the forms. I was initially told when I called the office that my MRI had been authorized and I could go ahead with scheduling. I scheduled and my husband took the day off to bring me for the scan, but then my insurance told me I was NOT actually approved. I called the office again and I was told yes, the pre-auth process had not even started. I clarified with the referrals department to make sure there was nothing further they needed from me. The woman I spoke to rudely told me that it hadn't been done because she assumed I'd be using Pascack Valley for the scan (even though I had already confirmed with Pascack Valley I was going elsewhere, and was told I could schedule anywhere.) I checked if there was anything else she needed to submit the forms, and she said no and confirmed she'd submit it "now." Days later I call Bergen Medical again, and am told that the pre-auth process STILL has not begun. I am promised to get a call back about this in 2 business days to explain why I am being given the runaround. So of course two business days plus a weekend go by, I call Bergen Medical back, and yet again no one can help me. The forms have STILL not been submitted, despite the multiple calls and confirmation from the referrals department that it had been submitted the week prior. I don't know what else I'm supposed to do when my doctor has ordered a test and his staff won't submit the forms. I am genuinely baffled.
