    Our beloved boy
    D D.

It's taken me several months to write this, but I knew I wouldn't feel right until I reviewed Valley Pet Loss Center to say, in public, what a beautiful, professional, and deeply kind job they did for us at an enormously difficult time. Sadly, over the past 20 years we've had to make use of several area pet cremation services for our beloved creatures who have passed away. All did a good job, thank goodness. But I can say with certainty that Valley Pet Loss Center was *by far* the most responsive and most professional cremation service we've ever used. I realize that most people send their companion animals' bodies off from the vet's office and a few weeks later receive the ashes in the mail, but I've always wanted/needed to be there with my beloved creatures' bodies in their last moments on earth (don't know why-- I just do), and Valley Pet Loss Center worked with me so that I could pay this last act of loving respect to our sweet, good boy. They enabled me to set a date and time for cremation, drive our boy's body down from Oakland, and be there as his body -- wrapped in his favorite warm blanket -- was placed in the cremator. The person at reception was really lovely and kind, and though I don't recall the name of the person who was working the cremator, I was more grateful for her quiet professionalism and the level of respect she granted to our poor boy's little body than she will probably ever know. My husband and I waited in the parking until the process was complete, and they brought our Whitman's ashes to us to take home. We still do and always will miss him. Of course we will. And for making our final act of love for him as gentle and graceful as such things can be, we can't thank the folks at Valley Pet Loss enough.

Our pet tortoise died suddenly. We had no idea where to go so I went on Yelp. This was the only place that answered the phone and provided all the information I needed. They did private cremation, pickup in 5-7 days. They did have the option of waiting same day for an extra fee but I didn't want to do that. Very reasonable cost of $90, and a wooden container with basic engraving was included. The process was easy, very professional service. I highly recommend in case you are in unfortunate need of their service. RIP Lightning.

I can't thank you enough for the care and compassion you showed our big guy after his passing. Your understand and flexibility made that difficult day so much easier. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for what you do. You took such wonderful care of our precious Bubba. He was our heart dog and to have him back home so soon after his passing really helped our healing process.

Valley Pet Loss Center made saying good bye to my Akita really easy and special.

Valley Pet Loss Center made saying bye to my Akita named Audrey, easy and less painful. It was more than I expected but the professionalism, care and thoroughness was spectacular during this difficult time. My girl passed away of old age and the very next day they were able to take me in, watch the cremation process, help me through my loss, choose an urn and put my girl back into my hands. It was a difficult day but they made it easy. I forgot the name of the cremator and office person but they were fabulous and actually cared. Thank you for that...This review is over 3 years late but I saw the paperwork and knew I had to do the right thing and leave a review for this special place. Thank you!

TL;DR: Valley Pet Loss went above and beyond when I called them because another crematorium forgot my appointment. If you want a professional, respectful, fully witnessed cremation in a clean and organized facility for your fur baby, I would highly recommend this place. On a Friday I knew I had to put my senior pug (Oscar) down, when I scheduled his at-home euthanasia for that Monday morning our vet recommended Valley Pet Loss for his cremation. I didn't listen and instead booked with a company in Tracy, which turned out to be a huge mistake. On Monday we showed up in Tracy with my dog's body in our arms and the company told us they didn't have our appointment on the books and couldn't take us that day. I was DEVASTATED. My best friend had just died and I had no idea what to do next. I called Valley Pet Loss on the way back home and Caroline answered the phone. I was already so upset that when she said they were booked up the next few days I practically hung up on her, and then a miracle happened... 5 minutes later she called back and asked if there was anything they could help with. I explained I was looking for a witnessed cremation as soon as possible that week. She got us scheduled for that Thursday morning and walked me through everything that was included. On Thursday we were able to witness Oscar's cremation from start to finish. The facility is in a light industrial area and the facility is well taken care of, professional, and welcoming. We were able to witness Oscar being placed in the kiln (with an ID tag), waited an hour, saw his remains come out, and even got to see his remains be processed to ash. We then got to walk his ashes to his memorial box and watch as he was placed in it. I know not everyone may not want to witness so much detail, but it was important to us and I'm grateful they allowed us when so many other places don't offer that. We saw how each step of the process was done with so much care and respect. Caroline didn't have to call me back that day but it feels like a miracle that she did. I was terrified I was going to have to drop Oscar's body off at a vet and get his ashes back weeks later. But instead I got to be with him during the last stages of his journey on this earth. I'll be forever grateful that a place like Valley Pet Loss exists. Thank you Caroline, Eric, and Cheryl

Our little guy Rover decided it was time and passed away peacefully on his own, after almost 20 years. We were left with a huge hole in our hearts. Donna and her team were so kind to take care of him and helped us through the process. We cannot thank them enough. As much as we are so sad, we are at peace knowing he is back home with us. Thank you again to Valley Pet Loss, you made this awfully sad situation a little easier.

I had to make the difficult decision to help my beautiful baby Mizuki cross the rainbow bridge. I called Valley Pet Loss Center the day of her appointment as my sister had a great experience with them in the past. Donna answered the phone and was very informative and kind. She didn't rush me into any decisions and although she knew MIzuki's appointment was for later in the day which would mean a late delivery she was very welcoming. I called back later that and spoke with Gabby and let her know we would be bringing her in and what was the latest we could bring her in if things went later than expected. She said she could wait for us and not to worry. As expected the appointment went later than scheduled and I called Gabby back and she said she would still wait for us and just take our time. By the time we got there it was an hour later than we originally thought we would be as it took a little time getting our big girl into our truck. Gabby was so nice and understanding. She let us take final pics of our girl took some information down. Gave us different choices of memorabilia. She just made the whole experience as pleasant as could be for the situation. She let me leave Mizu with her favorite toy and place a blanket on the rack she would be placed on so she wasn't just laying on metal. I cannot say enough good things about this place and of course the wonderful workers. Thank you Donna and Gabby for taking such good care of Mizuki

From the unexpected very first phone call the day before, they patiently walked me through the process while I was extremely emotional and overwhelmed. They were calm, kind, and never rushed us. The gentleman who met us at the hospital to transport our baby was thoughtful and respectful. We chose a private viewing and cremation, and while it was more expensive than other options, I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. When we arrived at the facility early the morning of, before the viewing or cremation, we brought breakfast as a small thank you for their compassion. They were genuinely surprised (said it's never been done before), which only spoke further to the selfless care they provide. We were given a private room set slightly away from the reception area, which provided much needed privacy. The room was simple but serene, with a couch, tissues, and a infant changing table style setup. Our baby had already been peacefully laid on the changing table with a small blanket, as if he was just sleeping. Being able to close the door, take our time, hold him, talk to him, cry, and say goodbye without interruption meant everything. They then carefully explained and showed us each step and allowed us to choose how involved we wanted to be, which we deeply appreciated. The whole process only took a few hours and our soul baby was rested in a nice temporary urn while we waited for our custom one. Our requested paw prints, nose prints, and hair clippings were also ready and prepped for us. This was our second time losing a fur baby, but our first experience with this company, and I truly cannot imagine handling such a loss any other way. Highly recommend.

There was no rush on when he could pick up; he told us to take as much time as we needed and to call him when we were ready for her to be picked up. After he picked her up to have a private cremation done, we kept in contact with him and he provided updates on when her urn would be ready. After some searching online I came across Restful Pets and after reading a few reviews - I knew this was my best option. I immediately called and Mark, the owner answered. His tone was perfect given the setting/circumstances. He came within 1.5 hours to my home, allowed me to say my goodbyes, explained the process to me, and took her in a larger size "suitcase" which was hard to see but I understand that's how the process works. Within 2 weeks I received a text message from "Justine" letting us know Princess was ready for me to pick her up; throughout this entire process my only complaint or complaint would be the message when notifying the family that their fur baby is ready for pick up, it stated "good news, Princess is ready for pick up" which in one way, I understand how it can be perceived as good news - I've been without her for 2 weeks and receiving her remains should feel like "good news" but for me, it wasn't good news. It was confirmation I'd never see her face again so I felt the choice of words weren't the best. Besides that - they did such a good job and made an already painful process less stressful. Cost - it was as pricey as anywhere else you're looking. As a stay at home mom, I can't afford much and had to research quite a few places and the price is about the same everywhere $20-30 difference max and again, they came to my home and took care of the arrangements. The only thing I felt was overly priced was the clay paw print, I paid $100 for her print and it was gorgeous - don't get me wrong. But the clay molding can be purchased for $20 so $80 for the labor of doing it seemed a bit unreasonable but I wanted a final paw print so I paid it. The box I received with her ashes was also gorgeous. Again, great services and owner was a great person. I hope to not need to use their services anytime soon but would if needed and I do highly recommend if searching for someone.
