Thank you Dr Vanessa Wensing for helping us give our furry family member the most compassionate goodbye. I cannot recommend Heaven From Home enough in helping make an incredibly painful moment feel as peaceful and loving as it possibly could be.

Dr. Vanessa Wensing is genuinely empathetic and caring. She guided us through one of the worst days of our lives, when we had to have our cat, Lexi, euthanized. She made sure Lexi was comfortable always, letting me hold her in her last moments. She took her time, keeping us completely informed every step of the way, and let us set the pace. She is the compassionate person every beloved pet deserves to help ease them out of this life when it is time.

Dr. Vanessa is one of the biggest blessings ever. We had to put my mom's dog to sleep last weekend. Hobie had the calmest & most beautiful send off. Vanessa is so calm & respectful, explaining every step & offering all the time you need. For one of life's most heartbreaking moments, Heaven from Home is the way to go.

Angels DO exist here on earth and we met one this past Friday. Her name is Vanessa! After seeing the great reviews for her services I reached out about our sweet Zoey. After a view brief text meassages about Zoey and her declining condition, she agreed to come that very day. We had Zoey on her bed where she often sleeps. Vanessa sat on the floor by her and asked us the tell her about our Zoester. After listening, she gave us our options and the unhurried time to think things over. Fast forward, we all agreed to move forward with the euthanasia. She talked to us about the process and then gently led us along the way. It was unhurried and very peaceful for our sweet girl. No one wants to walk this path but Vanessa helped and supported us thru it. Happy trails sweet Zoey...we'll see you on the other side!

A heartfelt rave for Dr. Wensing at Heaven From Home. We had to say goodbye to our sweet Lola on Saturday after more than 15 years together. It was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, but Dr. Wensing made it as gentle and peaceful as possible. From the moment she arrived, she brought a sense of calm and kindness that we didn't even realize we needed. She spoke to us with such compassion, reassuring us that we were doing the right thing for Lola. She explained everything with such care, never rushing us, and treated Lola with the love and respect she deserved. But what meant the most was how she made our kids feel safe and included. She answered their questions with warmth and patience, helping them understand what was happening in a way that wasn't scary. Saying goodbye is never easy, but thanks to Dr. Wensing, Lola was able to pass at home, in her favorite spot, surrounded by the people who loved her most. That means everything. If you ever find yourself facing this impossible decision, I can't recommend Heaven From Home enough. Dr. Wensing, we are so grateful.

Heaven From Home and Dr. Wensing are truly amazing. This review may seem a little disjointed and may not flow as Jack Dog's passing is still very raw. The morning of Jack Dog's third chemo treatment for cancer he just wasn't up for it. At 12 years our super happy, loving, sweet, and strong Collie/Border Collie/Shepard was ready. During his treatment at VCA Encine (also highly recommended) oncologist Dr. Atwater recommended preparing and suggested Heaven From Home. HFH responded the same day and provided helpful information on the service provided by Dr. Wensing. I set up an appointment for the afternoon of the following day. Dr. Wensing provided timely updates to her schedule and offered to adjust as Jack and I needed. She arrived on time and carefully explained the process with sincerity and patience. At every step of the way Dr. Wensing explained the next step and patiently awaited for me and Jack to let her know. I felt that Jack was comfortable during the entire afternoon. Simple things Dr. Wensing did resonate to this day - she brought a box of tissues and made sure it was within my reach. After she and Jack left, I noticed the tissues were still there, evident they were left on purpose. All the small things she did made this a kind, humane, and beautiful last day for Jack and me. I may have to re-edit this review but one thing won't change: Heaven From Home and Dr. Wensing are the most professional and compassionate providers for when your pet is ready to move on.

"Heaven from Home" has my highest recommendations for pet euthanasia in the comforts of your home. Dr Vanessa demonstrated such emotional and social intelligence through the ease of her bedside manners and professionalism. She was clear and direct but also gentle and so patient. She beautifully orchestrated a painless, peaceful transition for my ol man; facilitating a goodbye with cuddles, memories and song. Our bond was at the center of her care; she was there to reassure and support us step by step in letting go. Oscar was handled with such dignity and love.

The day after we brought the kitten home, she developed diarrhea. I called to schedule an appointment, but they didn't have any "new pet" (one-hour) appointments available for over a week. I booked the earliest one, but asked if they could at least order a fecal test in the meantime. They said no. Instead, I was told to call the next morning to try for a same-day appointment, where a vet could then order the test. I called right at 7:30 am and was able to book a same-day 30-minute appointment for 10:30 am. Problem solved, or so I thought. Minutes later, they called back and canceled it. The reason: my kitten hadn't been seen before, so she required a one-hour appointment, which they didn't have available for a week!!! I explained that this was a stray kitten with active diarrhea and asked if she could at least be briefly seen, or if I could simply pay for a fecal test and treatment. They said that wasn't possible. Then they said they spoke to the vet, who would try to fit me in that same day but couldn't give a time. The vet had approved a 30-minute visit, so I rearranged my day and worked from home to wait for their call. At 10:23 am, they called back and told me they actually had no availability that day at all--and that I'd have to wait a week. Their only suggestion was to call again the next morning and try for another same-day appointment. At that point, it felt like a nightmare on repeat!

Miranda, the nurse who first saw us, was kind and gentle with Ezri, and her calm energy helped ease my nerves. Then I met Dr. Mason, who was just as kind. She listened carefully, addressed all of my concerns, and explained everything in a clear and respectful way. I never felt rushed or talked down to, which is something I really appreciate. Some tests were run, and once the results were ready, Dr. Mason personally called to go over them with me. She was just as thoughtful and patient over the phone, making sure I understood everything and felt confident in the next steps. I'm extremely satisfied with the care we received. Everyone was compassionate, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my boy. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here or recommend them to anyone who loves their pet like family.

I didn't have the emotional strength to relive my experience. I still mourn him. Before his first assessment for treatment, knew my dog had a heart murmur. But because he was fine and showed no serious symptoms, I prolonged taking him to the vet. The time I decided to do so, i would travel one hour to this vet because I wanted him to have the best care and so I thought. On his first visit, they kept him for a few hours to do tests. When I got him back he was not the same. He all of a sudden to started to have fainting symptoms daily. He would collapse to the floor. I would rush him outside for first aid and sometimes give him mouth to mouth. It was scary. From that day forward his health went progressively down as he grew weaker and weaker. And the bills just got bigger and bigger. ImI was expected to take him every six months for sonogram (different location), x ray and bloodwork. I would joke and say I'm going to rename him Louie because that's what he's costing me. A LV bag every time. I love my dog dearly and wanted to do whatever I could to keep him going. But I couldn't help to think, did they do something to my dog sicker for profits? I know I can't make that claim unless I have proof. All I know is how sick he got after that first visit. On my last assessment, I told them I can't afford another x ray and sonogram (VEG). Just the bloodwork. So they did what they did and sent him out. There was no consultation of the findings which I thought was weird. I traveled an hour to bring him to this place, have spent thousands of dollars and that's it? He died two months later. I have to write this in case anyone has had the same experience. I don't want to be told you should have did this or that. Or maybe this and that. It's too late. I just wanted to share my experience in case someone has had the same. That's all.

Gui Gui had been limping since last Wednesday, and Dr. Haburjak's team was able to quickly find an appointment for us that Monday. During the visit, Dr. Haburjak performed a very thorough physical examination and determined that he did not believe Gui Gui's knee was the source of the problem. He carefully identified the hock as a possible source and immediately referred us to a specialist. What touched me most was how much Dr. Haburjak personally did to make sure Gui Gui received the care he needed as quickly as possible. He immediately called and texted the specialist to help get Gui Gui seen as soon as possible. He also sent us a detailed and thoughtful email explaining his concerns and introduced us directly to the specialist. He went above and beyond to make sure there was a smooth transition of care. It turned out that Gui Gui had a serious infection in his hock--septic arthritis. I truly believe Dr. Haburjak's careful examination, clinical judgment, quick action, and genuine concern for Gui Gui made all the difference. His prompt identification of the problem and immediate referral helped Gui Gui receive the urgent treatment he needed. In my heart, I truly believe he saved Gui Gui's life. I feel incredibly lucky to have such an amazing surgeon and such a wonderful team in the area where I live. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing that Gui Gui is in the hands of people who genuinely care about their patients. I cannot thank Dr. Haburjak and his entire team enough for everything they did for Gui Gui. I truly appreciate their kindness, professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Very friendly and thoughtful. My complaints are not directly to anyone, but mostly being misled by what this hospital can do and when it can be done. I scheduled a consultation with internal medicine for August 4th. At the time of scheduling, I let them know that I was referred to them for a rhinoscopy and CT for my dog. They told me over the phone they sometimes can do the procedure the same day but it's uncommon. I understood that but still scheduled, hopeful that they could still do a rhinoscopy in the near future as it was something my primary vet urged me to do soon. They had me pay the consultation fee on same day to confirm my appointment, which I didn't question at the time. Keep in mind, they knew I needed a rhinoscopy with internal medicine specifically at the time I made this call. At the time of our appointment, we met with Dr. Louis who was very knowledgeable and kind. When I asked him about scheduling the rhinoscopy, he said they do not have the equipment needed for that procedure at this hospital (IronHorse) and he is only in the hospital that has the equipment (OakVet) ONCE A MONTH. Adding to that, he was out of town in August so we were looking at September. When I asked the nurse about September, she said there was a line so it's possible we couldn't get in. At this time, I was feeling very frustrated because I felt so misled that they knew the procedure couldn't be done anytime soon but still took my money for the consultation fee and led me to believe this hospital could perform the procedure. If I knew OakVet was the one that had the equipment, I would've just scheduled there. But this information was never offered to me over the phone at the time of scheduling the initial consult. I was told the estimate for the future procedure would be sent to me by the end of the week (this was Tuesday 8/4) and didn't receive anything by Friday. I called on Friday and they said end of day, and I did not receive anything end of day. I called again on Monday and they said they are backed up, I should have it soon. It's now 8/16 and I have not received a call or email with my estimate. Overall, the communication and professionalism of some staff at this hospital is not something I'd subject myself to again. I think once they finish the merge with OakVet, it could function better but if you're looking to get a rhinoscopy and CT, I would look elsewhere. We were able to go to Sage Dublin that same week and have the procedure done. All other vets in the area that I called were very transparent about how booked they were and if they have the equipment to perform the procedure I asked about.
