Dr. Vanessa is one of the biggest blessings ever. We had to put my mom's dog to sleep last weekend. Hobie had the calmest & most beautiful send off. Vanessa is so calm & respectful, explaining every step & offering all the time you need. For one of life's most heartbreaking moments, Heaven from Home is the way to go.

Angels DO exist here on earth and we met one this past Friday. Her name is Vanessa! After seeing the great reviews for her services I reached out about our sweet Zoey. After a view brief text meassages about Zoey and her declining condition, she agreed to come that very day. We had Zoey on her bed where she often sleeps. Vanessa sat on the floor by her and asked us the tell her about our Zoester. After listening, she gave us our options and the unhurried time to think things over. Fast forward, we all agreed to move forward with the euthanasia. She talked to us about the process and then gently led us along the way. It was unhurried and very peaceful for our sweet girl. No one wants to walk this path but Vanessa helped and supported us thru it. Happy trails sweet Zoey...we'll see you on the other side!

A heartfelt rave for Dr. Wensing at Heaven From Home. We had to say goodbye to our sweet Lola on Saturday after more than 15 years together. It was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, but Dr. Wensing made it as gentle and peaceful as possible. From the moment she arrived, she brought a sense of calm and kindness that we didn't even realize we needed. She spoke to us with such compassion, reassuring us that we were doing the right thing for Lola. She explained everything with such care, never rushing us, and treated Lola with the love and respect she deserved. But what meant the most was how she made our kids feel safe and included. She answered their questions with warmth and patience, helping them understand what was happening in a way that wasn't scary. Saying goodbye is never easy, but thanks to Dr. Wensing, Lola was able to pass at home, in her favorite spot, surrounded by the people who loved her most. That means everything. If you ever find yourself facing this impossible decision, I can't recommend Heaven From Home enough. Dr. Wensing, we are so grateful.

Heaven From Home and Dr. Wensing are truly amazing. This review may seem a little disjointed and may not flow as Jack Dog's passing is still very raw. The morning of Jack Dog's third chemo treatment for cancer he just wasn't up for it. At 12 years our super happy, loving, sweet, and strong Collie/Border Collie/Shepard was ready. During his treatment at VCA Encine (also highly recommended) oncologist Dr. Atwater recommended preparing and suggested Heaven From Home. HFH responded the same day and provided helpful information on the service provided by Dr. Wensing. I set up an appointment for the afternoon of the following day. Dr. Wensing provided timely updates to her schedule and offered to adjust as Jack and I needed. She arrived on time and carefully explained the process with sincerity and patience. At every step of the way Dr. Wensing explained the next step and patiently awaited for me and Jack to let her know. I felt that Jack was comfortable during the entire afternoon. Simple things Dr. Wensing did resonate to this day - she brought a box of tissues and made sure it was within my reach. After she and Jack left, I noticed the tissues were still there, evident they were left on purpose. All the small things she did made this a kind, humane, and beautiful last day for Jack and me. I may have to re-edit this review but one thing won't change: Heaven From Home and Dr. Wensing are the most professional and compassionate providers for when your pet is ready to move on.

"Heaven from Home" has my highest recommendations for pet euthanasia in the comforts of your home. Dr Vanessa demonstrated such emotional and social intelligence through the ease of her bedside manners and professionalism. She was clear and direct but also gentle and so patient. She beautifully orchestrated a painless, peaceful transition for my ol man; facilitating a goodbye with cuddles, memories and song. Our bond was at the center of her care; she was there to reassure and support us step by step in letting go. Oscar was handled with such dignity and love.

The day after we brought the kitten home, she developed diarrhea. I called to schedule an appointment, but they didn't have any "new pet" (one-hour) appointments available for over a week. I booked the earliest one, but asked if they could at least order a fecal test in the meantime. They said no. Instead, I was told to call the next morning to try for a same-day appointment, where a vet could then order the test. I called right at 7:30 am and was able to book a same-day 30-minute appointment for 10:30 am. Problem solved, or so I thought. Minutes later, they called back and canceled it. The reason: my kitten hadn't been seen before, so she required a one-hour appointment, which they didn't have available for a week!!! I explained that this was a stray kitten with active diarrhea and asked if she could at least be briefly seen, or if I could simply pay for a fecal test and treatment. They said that wasn't possible. Then they said they spoke to the vet, who would try to fit me in that same day but couldn't give a time. The vet had approved a 30-minute visit, so I rearranged my day and worked from home to wait for their call. At 10:23 am, they called back and told me they actually had no availability that day at all--and that I'd have to wait a week. Their only suggestion was to call again the next morning and try for another same-day appointment. At that point, it felt like a nightmare on repeat!

I didn't have the emotional strength to relive my experience. I still mourn him. Before his first assessment for treatment, knew my dog had a heart murmur. But because he was fine and showed no serious symptoms, I prolonged taking him to the vet. The time I decided to do so, i would travel one hour to this vet because I wanted him to have the best care and so I thought. On his first visit, they kept him for a few hours to do tests. When I got him back he was not the same. He all of a sudden to started to have fainting symptoms daily. He would collapse to the floor. I would rush him outside for first aid and sometimes give him mouth to mouth. It was scary. From that day forward his health went progressively down as he grew weaker and weaker. And the bills just got bigger and bigger. ImI was expected to take him every six months for sonogram (different location), x ray and bloodwork. I would joke and say I'm going to rename him Louie because that's what he's costing me. A LV bag every time. I love my dog dearly and wanted to do whatever I could to keep him going. But I couldn't help to think, did they do something to my dog sicker for profits? I know I can't make that claim unless I have proof. All I know is how sick he got after that first visit. On my last assessment, I told them I can't afford another x ray and sonogram (VEG). Just the bloodwork. So they did what they did and sent him out. There was no consultation of the findings which I thought was weird. I traveled an hour to bring him to this place, have spent thousands of dollars and that's it? He died two months later. I have to write this in case anyone has had the same experience. I don't want to be told you should have did this or that. Or maybe this and that. It's too late. I just wanted to share my experience in case someone has had the same. That's all.

Despite their best efforts, her veterinarian was unable to determine the cause because they didn't have the specialized equipment needed to perform an endoscopy and take a closer look. Unfortunately, the earliest appointment available at SAGE was a week away, which I completely understood given the demand for specialty care. In the meantime, Peaches needed immediate attention, so I took her to an emergency veterinary hospital in Fresno. There, they sedated her and discovered a foxtail deeply embedded in her vaginal wall. Although they removed it, they couldn't say with certainty that it was the sole cause of her symptoms and strongly recommended that we keep our appointment with the internist at SAGE. I'll admit that after reading some of the reviews online, I was worried that I might be pressured into unnecessary procedures or expensive treatments. I couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed. SAGE truly operates like a full-service hospital, with the equipment and specialists needed to address complex medical issues all under one roof. Most importantly, the care and professionalism we received were exceptional. Dr. Miller was absolutely amazing. He came into the room already familiar with Peaches' medical history and had clearly taken the time to thoroughly review her records before meeting us. That level of preparation immediately put me at ease. After examining Peaches, Dr. Miller explained that she appeared to be in very good health. He discussed the option of performing additional diagnostic procedures to investigate further and provided a detailed cost estimate. While the procedure was expensive, it was understandable given its complexity. What I appreciated most was his honesty. He told us that, based on her exam and improvement, he didn't feel additional procedures were necessary at that time. Instead, he recommended monitoring her closely and reassured us that if the bleeding returned, we could contact him directly and he would make himself available. His honesty, transparency, and genuine concern for Peaches meant so much to me. Rather than pushing unnecessary testing, he helped us make an informed decision that was truly in our dog's best interest. We also discussed some ongoing digestive issues Peaches has experienced over the years. Dr. Miller offered helpful recommendations, sent us home with food samples to try, and even offered to write a prescription should we decide to switch her diet. As pet parents, we all want veterinarians who are knowledgeable, compassionate, and honest. Dr. Miller and the entire team at SAGE exceeded my expectations in every way. I am incredibly grateful for the care they provided to my sweet Peaches. Thank you, Dr. Miller and the entire SAGE team!

Our dog stayed overnight for monitoring and came home the next morning safe and stable. Communication was clear the entire time, and the team was professional, calm, and genuinely kind during a very stressful situation. * In terms of cost, this is emergency care, so it is expensive. The initial diagnostic alone was around 1300 dollars. With bloodwork, X rays, anesthesia, the procedure, overnight monitoring, and medications, the estimate initially went up to 14000 dollars. The final total ended up being about 6600 dollars after adjustments. Even knowing emergency care costs more, it is still a financial shock when you are facing a possible life threatening situation for a family member. * We are giving 4 stars. The doctor and team absolutely deserve recognition for their professionalism and friendliness. The only reason we are taking off one star is the price. While we understand emergency care is costly, the numbers can feel overwhelming. Our advice is to get pet insurance if possible. If a bill in the thousands or potentially over ten thousand would be difficult, it is worth researching emergency options ahead of time. For us, what mattered most is that our family member came home safe.
