Had to give one star just to leave a review. Came here with my wife for dinner, we are still here by the way and the service in this restaurant is THE WORST. While our waitress was nice and attentive it was the rest of the entire staff. We were sat down, got our drinks ordered our food and waited. And waited. And waited. Only half the tables were full too by the way. My side salad came out without my wife's soup so I waited and waited before I started to eat it. After watching many other patrons come in after us and receive their order before my wife and I, Most likely club members or regulars but that shouldn't matter. When my wife called the waitress over and told her we will pay for what we had because we wanted to leave then the attitudes were presented. She talked us into waiting and brought our food out within less than 1 minute. And it was not hot. Wouldn't say cold but I'm not stupid. It sat under a warming lamp for awhile. Also my wife's soup came with her dinner not before like mine. She ordered the rib eye steak medium well and was bleeding. I ordered the fried fish dinner and becasue it was sitting under a warming lamp it was soggy and not hot. First time here and last. read more

New owners have made so many improvements! Great live music events, fire pits and if you're in to cigars, not only is there a designated area to smoke, they have a great selection of cigars for purchase. The food/dining is great too. Friendly staff, all around great place to hang. Also really good for large groups and families with kids. Lots of room for kids to safely run about while the grown ups chill. This place is a great addition to the community. Highly recommend! read more

I thought I would try this golf course since the price was only $25 (Mondays) for green fees and that includes the driving cart! But after golfing here today, I know why it's only $25! The course didn't have any markers telling us how far we're from the green, and the course was very narrow too! I also saw ant holes right on the greens! Believe it or not, there were weeds on the bunkers! If you like challenges, you will like this course, especially the price! read more

This place is terrible. EJ (who I find out is the general manager) was working in the pro shop and taking tee times. He apparently messed up the tee time for the customer in front of us and then began to verbally assault the customer! Threatening him. That customer leaves as he should. Now I get to deal with EJ. We had already called ahead by a few hours to get a tee time with carts for a foursome. He wrote down the wrong time, didn't have carts, and was rude. We had to wait nearly an hour to get out in the course. I would have loved to just leave but we decided to try and salvage the night. EJ told us he can't remember who calls for what and WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED A SECOND TIME TO CONFIRM THE TEE TIME!!! That's your job EJ!!! He then tries to over charge us. When we point out we are members and that we told him we are members when the tee time was made, this guy threatens to revoke our memberships! The tee boxes here are HARD! To the point where tees won't go in the ground. Greens are tore up. Divots and bumps add to difficult putts. Fairways are not kept up with and have spots that are overgrown. Course is well below others in the area. While the price is still around the same. We will not be renewing our memberships after 3 years. We came back in after 18 holes of a fun time together on a below average golf course only to find EJ verbally harassing a young lady in the bar. That's their General Manager folks. read more

Lots of comments about "rude employees" in these reviews. YEP. I had 8 people trying to play here Tuesday, June 27, 2023. I called and made the reservation, and was told there were leagues that day, but as long as we had reservations before 2:00 we would be able to play 18 holes. I even called a second time (different day, different employee answering the phone I think) since my people were making a big effort to get together to play. "We will be able to play 18 holes with the 1:48 and 1:57 tee times we have?" "Yes, no problem". So we get there on the actual day and the girl at the bar (where we are supposed to pay for our greens fees... bad sign!) says "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you can only play nine holes". After many of my friends drove an hour to get there! Then we ask if we can play one nine twice, since we're trying to get our "event" in, she says maybe, but she needs to ask the "Manager". She brings this guy out and he must be the rude person people are talking about (or the leader of many of these types). I tell him what I wrote above, and he says "Our staff didn't say that". And I'm like "Do you think I'm hearing things, or making this up?" He says "A lot of people claim our staff has said things they never said". OH MY GOODNESS. Nice response. So I'm either insane or a liar, right? Anyhow, the guy is completely non-accommodating. Not concerned about our plight at all. So we booked somewhere else on 6/27/23. BUT, I have played there before many times. Here are some reasons you might want to play Valley Ridge Golf Course: * Fun layout at a reasonable price. * You like the jeans-wearing sort of crowd, with no judgement (in fact laughter) on bad shots. * You want to be in a league made up of this sort of person. Here are the reasons I'm never playing there again: * Because I TOLD the "Manager" we would never be coming back if he didn't try to help us. He didn't care. * Extremely slow pace quite often. * Extremely dry/poor conditions often. * The course is set up to make money from these "good old boy" golfers who aren't anything close to good golfers. Now I certainly hit my share of bad shots, but as the saying goes, "Play well, play fast. Play poorly, play faster". The golfers at Valley Ridge do NOT follow this credo. read more

I took three friends to Valley Ridge for a round, I'm a member. All three are experienced public courses golfers, they gave the course a good rating. Tee boxes drew the most critique. It's not a country club, just try it for a fun round at decent value. Richard M. read more

I golf here regularly as it's the closest course to my home and it's a decent value. The course itself has a fun layout that is quite short but can be challenging, particularly holes 14-16. Greens are generally slow and flat and the sand is typically firm to very firm. It's nearly the end of June under the first year of new ownership and there is still a lot of room for improvement. This has been an exceptionally wet summer but the management has done little to keep the course from being damaged by the wet conditions. I've seen full golf outings and league with carts off the cart path the day after torrential rain. I don't understand why they don't try to protect the course. The course lacks a ranger to my knowledge and that leads to a lot of bad behavior on the course going unchecked. I appreciate this course as a decent option for beginner's to play casually in reasonable conditions, but many golfers who play here lack some basic etiquette to make golf fun for whoever is enjoying the course that day. You will see many ball marks by the end of the day and many golfers who are three sheets to the wind by the final few holes. The only maintenance the course seems to receive is in the morning which is very disappointing considering one day the entire green on the 14th hole was covered in cottonwood fluff rendering it unplayable. Worse, the practice green was covered as well which means they've seen the problem and chose to ignore it. With all this criticism said, I do still prefer it to nearby options like Spring Valley, Hickory Knolls, and Renwood. read more

Would give it zero stars if it could register. I responding to a mailer about a discounted membership and was told the particulars on the phone. I came by and planned on buying two memberships and playing that day only to be told you have to sign up on the phone. Run around started there and only got worse called twice to be told first time the person wasn't around, second time you have to call after 5 pm. I call after 5 and they tell me they have 1 person that can handle those and he's left for the day. It was the same person who told me to call after 5 pm. Then the beyond run around comes as I send an email and the excuses came and he says he ended that promotion and I need to try back after June 15. First off I don't want to be associated with a club who plays bait and switch tactics. Second if this is there customer service on the front end the place will be horrible so I passed. read more

somewhat decent of a golfer here, but wanted to experience it. let me tell you, stay away from this place. the tee box is concrete, greens are absolutely terrible, management is crap, and most of all it is not a place you would wanna spend your money. If you have kids sure fine it's easy and cheap, but do not come here. Come further south of Lake Country and experience something that is well worth your buck. Terrible, sand is basically dirt, cart paths aren't maintained at all, most fairways have massive dirt patches and crab grass. Tee boxes seem as if they haven't been watered all year. Also there is no pace of play, have been to this course over 10 times and every single time it has taken over 5 hours to play 18 holes. An absolute joke. Basically save your money and pay 10 dollars more to play somewhere nice. Unless it is your first couple times playing than absolutely keep destroying this golf course. read more

I just called to ask about a job posting. The call was fielded by a person named Rob. I simply stated that I was interested in working for the golf course and saw a posting online. He responded by saying "go apply wear you found it online" and hung up abruptly. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. I can't imagine the owners want someone representing their course in such a rude manor. read more

Zero rating. I have been here over 100 times and have continued to patronize for the last 10 years and different ownerships. Even before they got taken over by the bank, I was there with my kids trying to teach them the game. I have continued to patronize this course because I live down the road. Yes, it's been rough, but I have continued to give this course my money...not only for me, but for my 11 and 9 year old kids. Today, I called at 1pm. A very rude man said, "I'm warning you, you cannot have a cart after 2pm." I said okay and made sure I was there 15 mins before that. I walked up to the outside area without my mask because I know I'd sign in there. I saw nobody was there and people were inside and pulled my shirt over my face and walked in to pay. I then heard the person working say to other guests that they could play until it gets dark. They walked out and he immediately started yelling at me telling me I need a mask and had to leave. I had a face covering on, but said okay....walked to my car and came back in to get my cart. This was still 10 mins before 2pm. He first told me I couldn't get a cart. I told him it was 10 mins till and he just told me on the phone that I couldn't get a cart after 2pm. He then said I could get a cart, but only play 9. I then reminded him that he just told the people before me that they could play until dark and asked what the problem was. I told him his attitude is losing patrons and that is what they needed most now. I then told him I would talk to Rob as I walked out. I give up on this place and I will stop giving my money. This is ridiculously horrible to be treated like this as a long time paying customer by a failing business. Doesn't make any sense to me. Been here 4 times over 2018/2019 and not once has play been faster than 5.5 hours. I understand it's a cheaper course but allowing 5 sums especially on Cart path only is quite ridiculous. Gave it a shot today. It's 2 pm I started at 9am and I didn't even finish the last two holes. Good luck valley ridge read more

This course is fun and offers a great value, the 3 year membership deal is not even believable, you can walk for nothing during the week and after 11pm weekends. I have already played about 20 times this spring and the course is in great shape, they have improved it allot over the last few years. read more

Greens were in great shape they are headed in the right direction with continuous improvement. Friendly staff nice clubhouse.
