This sleep center is very calming and relaxing from the time you walk in. The staff is warm and welcoming. Each staff member had a smile on their face. The gentleman taking care of me was Toby. Toby was very courteous and calm. He explained the entire procedure to me and showed me the mask options, if needed. I always have a hard time going to sleep without my husband so it took me awhile but i finally got to sleep. Tobey woke me up to put a cpap mask on me and i went right back to sleep. It seemed to be 5 minutes later and it was time to wake up. Toby again was kind and courteous and didn't yell to wake me up. I had an excellent experience and would recommend Valley Sleep Center to anyone who needs this type of testing. read more

Phoenix, AZ They're acting like they don't want to be in the business of providing parts and supplies. They don't have any method to contact them except by phone. When I've called them to order supplies, I've always encountered a wait queue ("you are third in line... You can leave a message to be called back.") This morning, I called, joined the queue at #3, 5 minutes later, #2, another 5 minutes, then #1, then "extension xxx is not available." Called back, left a message. And again an hour later. No call-back. Third call - the phone menu won't accept the option that worked this morning - can't even leave a message. This is typical of every time I've had to order supplies, every month. I can't order a 3 month supply either. If I didn't have to work with them, I wouldn't. Perhaps I don't have to.... read more

We arrived last evening for an overnight sleep study and a daytime sleep study for my daughter. The check-in process was quick and easy and we were shown right to her room. Toby was her technician for the night and Kyle was her technician for her day study. 5 stars to both of them for their professionalism and ability to make my daughter feel very comfortable with the process. The room and attached bathroom were very clean and spacious. If you are picky about your pillows, you might want to bring your own since theirs are on the thin side. If you are sensitive to noises, bring earplugs since there is still some activity in the office overnight as there are multiple sleep studies going on. It would be nice to have a table or desk in the room if you are there for a day study, but overall still a nice room. We were pleased with the experience. read more

If I could give half a star I would. Anything that has valley sleep's name on is just a tragic mess on both the therapy side and the center side. Last minute canceled appointments, change appointments with out being notified, and rude staff. Pulled all my medical records today after putting up with their bs for years and will be finding both a new doctor and supply provider. I would have given zero star if possible. After waiting few weeks; they scheduled me for few weeks later WITHOUT sending any email or message or any records. Few weeks later, I was not sure if my exact appointment day, called their offlice and of course no one answered and received a text message to provide my name and DOB so I can get an update on my PAP machine order. The message clearly said Thursday 05/25 is my appointment. Then I get a voice message on my phone a day before that oh your appointment was actually today and you missed it!!! I go there in Thursday 05/25; the guys is so rude and disrespectful while admitting it was his mistake and he sent that message; he did not say sorry or apologized not even once. Then he tells me to call and reschedule. He is not even willing to schedule my time right there. Really recommend take your business at least somewhere you get some respect. What a Disappointment! Got there for a scheduled sleep study. You get your own room and private bathroom. The TV had only 1 station and the manager could not change the channel and could not get it in English. The light switch in the bathroom was broke and there was only a washcloth in the bathroom. No towels, no paper towels. I WALKED OUT. I told them, do not dare to charge my insurance. This place was a total joke. If the TV does not work, how can I trust the breathing monitors to work. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. THIS PLACE IS A WASTE OF TIME! This is the location at 4555 E Inverness in Mesa. I don't have any experience with their other locations. I will report this to my doctor and suggest he refer his patients somewhere else. FYI, it was very noisy there in the hallways. No way would I have fallen asleep, HAD I stayed there. read more

I've been to VSC several times in the past, I'm luke-warm with my experience. UNTIL MY LAST VISIT WITH JANETTE, SHE WAS WONDERFUL. She took plenty of time of go over my info and my some tweaks to my machine, now I feel like i'm getting a good nights rest. This place is gorgeous. Looks like you're in a spa. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had my consultation and within a week I had an appointment for my sleep study. I wish I would have known I'd have a private bathroom with a shower, I would have been more prepared. The technician explained everything and even gave me time to relax before getting all hooked up. When he woke me to hook up the CPAP machine, I wasn't startled awake and he quickly had me ready to go back to sleep. The beds was comfy and adjustable. Way better sleep here than in a hotel. My results took no time to get and they even called to go over my results if I needed more information or needed clarification after I spoke with my doctor. read more

The section of the sleep center where you have to pick up supplies is very frustrating. I have to make numerous calls, am told that I will get certain supplies and when I pick them up, they are something else. They promise to call back but don't. It took me a month to get my last supplies ordered and then they told me to wait another week because they didn't have a nasal pillow. This company is so dishonest or the employees are. How do you sleep knowing you charge far more for supplies then you should, and blame it on the insurance companies. I called yesterday and asked for a quote, I was quoted about $20.00-30.00 for what the few items needed and checked to see if it was in stock, I was told the items were in but limited supply (I double checked that it was nasal mask and not full). I was told that amount is an estimate as I need an up-to-date prescription and need to see the doctor first. I saw the doctor this morning and went right over (Mesa Location). The items were not in stock and I was quoted $93.00 with my insurance. WHAT? How is it that I can get these items cheaper through Amazon and CVS and I was told that the insurance company sets the price. I expressed how I thought that this was dishonest and I pay for insurance and they turn around and make money off my hardship? WHY, who can I talk to? I left with no items and a total waste of my very valuable time from work, not to mention the money I spent to see the doctor to give me a useless prescription. I then got on my car and called my insurance company. Come to find out, you are out of my network and none of your staff bothered to explain this to me, even with all my questioning on how the supplies are so expensive. NOW, it is my belief that they are trained to not tell the patient they are out of net work as a fair amount of folks wont question the charge and just pay it. SHAME ON YOU! Sleep conducted and purchased expensive equipment to handle a 10 year sleep disorder. Prescribed the wrong mask and took get another 1.5 weeks to get an exchange . After $900 the set up is still not adequate and another apt was made to correct their error at my expense. Need a good lesson is customer service. read more

In my opinion they are nothing more than a cattle herding company. The more people they put on sleep machines the more money they make, they don't give a rats butt about their patience. Oh wait maybe they don't consider anyone a patient that is why there is absolutely NO follow up. I have had my machine for 2 years and never once have I had anyone from there call to see how I am doing. I have had issues that I had to work out on my own or my doing online research. I unfortunately do not have insurance that pays for anything, which in my opinion is why they don't contact me. The money well is dry, can't make any money off me so ignore me. Patients Beware!!!! Valley Sleep Center is affiliated with Valley Sleep Therapy meaning that once you get diagnosed with Sleep Apnea like I did they send you to VSTherepy. After taking my CPAP home I was unable to wear it after struggling and trying for 60 min. I won't bore you with the details but it was impossible for me to think in terms of wearing this every night. So I brought it back after using it for a total of 60 minutes ( which is recorded on the machine so they knew that was the length of time) anyway they would not return my money!! I played $512.00 upfront and the a rental charge of $30 something a month . We were told to call and speak to Francisco in Mesa after my husband spoke to him he told us that he would not return is and after more talk promised to call us back on a certain and surprise no phone call. We called him back and he was conveniently not available. So I went to see him today unscheduled and I walked away with them telling me I will not get my money back. This is unacceptable business practice and I would ask everyone to not support this buisness!! read more

I did not like my consultation. The doctor talked fast like he was making a sales pitch. I never felt cared for. I truly believe they are only out to make money. I have amazing ins and I would have had no out of pocket cost, but believed they would take full advantage of my insurance company. It was so busy, I couldn't find a parking spot and had a 40 min wait. The doctor showed me the different sleep machines on my first, which made it seem I will automatically need one when I haven't even had my sleep test yet. Do NOT go here. I recommend them highly!! I took my 2 year old daughter for a sleep study and was very impressed. Our sleep technician was amazing with her, very patient and kind. The DVD we brought to watch while getting her hooked up got stuck in the TV and they vowed to return it. We got a call the next day checking on our daughter and saying how sweet she was, they mentioned the DVD. Several days later, we received the DVD plus a new copy of the Lion King with a nice note. They are very good at what they do and if they can make a 2 year old feel at ease, they can probably do the same with anyone!! read more

I would first like to say I am happy with my CPAP machine and therapy. However, the Valley Sleep Center process and certain personnel could definitely use some help. I had to make four appointments to get the program going, which could easily be done in two visits. First visit was to speak with a therapist, second was to be setup with a home sleep evaluation kit, third was to go over the results and finally the fourth to be shown how to use the CPAP. The first three cost me 50 bucks each (my copay). All this took about 6 weeks due to my work schedule and their limited appointment schedule. Why could I not have been given the home sleep study equipment on the first day and go over results and be fitted for the CPAP the same day. A phone call could have been made to tell I had sleep apnea and would benefit from treatment. Last thing I am not happy with is the blond receptionist. I think her name is Destiny. Never greets you, no eye contact and cuts you off before you can finish a sentence. Only thing she says is "birthdate," or "last name" and "take a seat." Not very professional at all. Like most professional offices, people have computer busy work to do, but when the customer is present; one would think that takes precedence. She is either rude or oblivious. Not sure what is worse. I am sure she does well at other aspects of her job, but someone needs to teach her some manners or keep her backstage. read more

Everything about this business is about money, not the patient. You walk in the door and there's a charge... My husband had to do the sleep study 2 times. Both times he almost left because of their unproffesional attitude, the lack of care and how frustrated he was with the whole proceedure. Then we were told SEVERAL times, once when we were told he needed a CPAP machine and several times when we picked it up that there was NO charge, our insurance would cover 100%. To our surprise, we were billed $38. a month for rental. He couldn't find a mask that was comfortable and had a hard time trying to even get in to get a new one to try. He called for help, we were told he had to wait since he was just in. I had to threaten them to let him get a new mask to try. MONTHS later, several masks later, it still wasn't working for him. No one wanted to really helped us. He went in to try to get a new mask and he was charged a fee for them to download his chart from the machine.... HE HADN"T been able to even use it! We ended up paying for MONTHS of not using the machine. They kept calling for us to pay and we said we would when a manager would call us. NOTHING. Terrible business. read more

I think that the sleep center is well run as a hook to get your business. Once they have that you can not get in touch with anyone. The customer service is awful 75 percent of the time, there supply side is unorganized and very unprofessional 100 percent of the time. I have had to make multiple calls to get supplies without anyone every returning my call. Reorder is a hassle. I agree with the other reviewer who said "Get your sleep study here, but get your supplies from someone else". However, why bit the bait. Get everything done somewhere else. read more

This review is for one of the Respiratory Therapists at the Mesa location, Helen Baubie. I saw her last week and she was able to diagnose and fix a lot of problems with a new machine which we were given in the Chandler office. I was so frustrated with the lack of action and concern that we had experienced and when we saw Helen, she listened, asked questions, and corrected all the issues. Since that day, all is well. They are thieves! When I set up the appointment they told me my co pay was $0, I asked them to double check, they did. Then when I show up for the appointment I ask them to verify for a third time and they did. then the Dr walks in and tells me I have sleep apnea without asking me a single question or discussing anything and tells me I need to rent a machine from them for the rest of my life. I say thank you but no, you diagnosed me with what you want me to have before you walked in the door and I left. 10 minutes after leaving I get a call from them saying I owe almost $200!!! I told them I absolutely would not pay that, they quoted me $0 three times and now a month later I get a bill in the mail. They are thieves and scammers who want to bilk you for money, they have absolutely 0 desire to help anyone but themselves. I love my credit score so am paying this bill but am also writing reviews everywhere I can, they are awful! read more

If you have ever taken your car to a mechanic they give you an estimate. You are relieved when the actual cost is the same as the estimate, even nicer when it comes out less. Very rarely happens. I have found this to be very true also when it comes to specialized medical services and insurance coverage. So much so that I ask very specific questions like, How much am I paying today? and How much do I have to pay myself? and DOES THIS COVER EVERYTHING? That didn't seem to make a difference after my visit at Valley Sleep Center in Mesa. I did ask those questions and was told I had $117 out of pocket to pay. This was for an at home sleep test. I paid my money took the equipment home and did the test that evening. I returned the equipment the next day. I got a call a few days later, the results were in and showed nothing out of the ordinary. I was a annoyed and relieved. Relieved because I had told this physician nothing was wrong with me, very glad there wasn't. And annoyed that I just spent over $100 out of my pocket and almost $900 from my insurance's FSA money for a piece of equipment... to get the data read when I could have just given my doctor my Fitbit results for that week for free. Anyway I was glad it was over, I was prescribed the sleep medication I had gone in for and it was done. Done until a month later when I received a bill from Valley Sleep Center for an additional $61.71. Huh? I called to ask why and the initial person I spoke to said that the person who does billing was not in and I need to call back when she was there. Ok. In the meantime I called my insurance carrier and asked them about it. I explained to the insurance rep that I got an additional bill from the sleep center and was wondering why all of it was not covered. She went over my file, found the payment and it matched the quote they had given Valley Sleep Center. She then asked if there may have been an additional procedure that they performed and that may be why they sent a separate bill. (There was not) When I finally did get to talk to the person in charge of billing she was pleasant. She apologized for the bill and said she didn't understand why I was being billed late for it the girl knew about that additional charge when I got the equipment and did not understand why I wasn't billed right there and then for it. It was clearly part of the known cost of the procedure. Then she asked when will you be able to pay it? I said excuse me? You made a mistake on how much I am supposed to pay and now you want me to pay an additional amount? I asked for her manager and she explained she is in charge that she IS the manager. I said ok, well there has to be someone above you I can speak with that will clear this up. She said only the owner. I said ok then I need to speak to the owner. She said she will discuss it with him and then get back to me. Lol, getting back to me was me getting another bill 3 weeks later with an additional $20 late charge. I receive a phone call about a week after that it was the same women asking when they could expect payment. I told her I wasn't sure and was considering my options. There was some more discussion but we were pretty much at an impasse. I was in the middle of working tons of overtime for the holidays and I did not have time to worry about it, I told her I was thinking about putting a complaint in with the AZ state attorney. Which I did. She said that she would put the bill aside until they reached a decision so that I wouldn't continue to accrue late charges. Mind you, every time I spoke with this women she was consistently professional and seemed very upfront. Remember, She did tell me I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED THE FULL AMOUNT THAT DAY. I received the decision and it was that I need to pay the additional amount. Upon further reading I found the letter enclosed from the president of Valley Sleep Center that she had written to the AZ Attorney General and it stated that "Unfortunately sometimes what the insurance plans quote us and how the claim actually processes are different due to the fact that our services are so specialized." Quote. Well yes, of course. EVERYONE knows how that works. That is why I ask so many questions from the get go. So in my opinion this person was not honest with the AZ Attorney General's office and their investigation. Over $60? Before it had even gotten to the point it did I already had an admission that the billing amount was fully known, it was a mistake on their part that it was not added to my bill that day. But instead of doing the right thing and dropping it, here we are with a long ass crappy review on yelp instead of proper customer service. read more

I felt at ease during the study and may have to return for a follow up study and have no problem as have complete confidence in the staff. Highly recommend this facility! read more

I was seen in late March/early April for a regular sleep study and an MSLT test. If memory serves, the sleep study was March 31st and the MSLT test was April 1st. Leading up to my actual appointment, I had been seen for a consult and had several phone calls and emails with employees of the Sleep Center. Each time I verified the appointment, I also verified that the cost to me would only be a $40 copay per test. I was also told that one of the medications I was on could interfere with the results of the MSLT test and that it was advised that I stop taking that medication for two weeks leading up to the MSLT test. I spoke to my doctor about this, and she said not to stop taking my medication. I informed two or three people at the Sleep Center of this. Had I known that I would be writing an email like this one, I would have written down their names. I was told that "they" may or may not decide to actually do the MSLT test. "They" decided to run it. "They" also decided that a urinalysis was necessary to determine what medications I was taking, even though I had not only given that information in the paperwork, but I had brought my medication with me. The following evening, I had an appointment to review the results of my sleep study and the MSLT test with a woman who introduced herself to me only as "Maria." She made me wait twenty minutes after my appointment time, but even then she hadn't bothered to look at my results yet. We looked at them together, but none of them made sense. For my sleep study, I woke up 134 times in 10 hours, and yet they said I had over 90% sleep efficiency. Do me a favor and think about that for just a minute. Exactly how efficient do you think your sleep is when you wake up every five minutes on average? They also said that I move my legs quite a bit while I sleep, but neither remedy nor reason was offered at all. It was simply an observation, like, "Hey, you're short." Maria said that the results of the MSLT test were inconclusive because of the medication I was taking. Why even bother with it if you know going in that the results are going to be meaningless? I was diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia, which sounds like a real thing, but all it means is that they don't have any idea why I'm tired all the time. But wait, there's more! Remember when I told you that each time I talked to someone about my appointment at the Sleep Center on the phone, I confirmed that all I would be responsible for was a $40 copay for each test? I began to receive bills in the mail in late April for the amount of $848.61, which was the portion I was responsible for after what my insurance covered, WHICH I HAD SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT PRIOR TO MAKING AN APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD ONLY $40 PER TEST. I also received a bill from Lab Corp for $69.21 for the urinalysis that didn't actually need to be ran. I was unprepared to pay this much money, because from what I'd been told, I had only budgeted $120 for the two tests and the initial consultation. All told, my experience with Valley Sleep Center has cost me over $1,000 and a day's vacation from work, plus a great deal of stress. I sent a detailed account of my experience to Lauri, the company president, who refused to refund me the difference between what I paid and what I was told I would have to pay. Got mixed feelings about this...the staff at the center was great! The facilities were very nice, clean and seemed well organized. Doctor was great. Respitory therapist was great as well. However, the business aspect was something else. I think they were too lazy to re-verify my insurance in February as I had asked. I have had 3 different sleep studies done in the last 5 years and I can tell you that this one was wonderful. In the past, the machine and masks have always been scary because I am clostrophobic and prone to panic attacks. This team was very considerate of my problems and worked to help me overcome my fears. They explained the different mask options, showed me how to use them then left me to try them for myself. I was told to try watching TV while I tried them and to call when I was ready to tell them about my trials. NO RUSH!!! I was told some people just cannot adjust but if I could try it for only one night, I could easily see the benefit to wearing it. THEY WERE RIGHT. I used it, fell asleep and was more rested than I have been for years. If you need better sleep, go to Valley Sleep Center and talk to Pam. I was amazed. read more
