I've been bringing my cars here for about 6 years now. The owner is friendly and he works quickly and efficiently. I have had cars that didn't pass and he was helpful in explaining what I should do next. He tells customers their options for completing their car's registration. I always seem to get a discount, whether it's because I bring in all my family's cars or because he felt I waited a bit too long in his waiting area. I appreciate his attention to repeat customers. He has fans blowing in the summer and a heater in the cooler months for his customers. I will continue to tell friends about his great service and I will continue to bring my cars to him. Saw this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because it's a smog check test only site. He had a car ahead and asked me to wait 15 mins and then he serviced my car for 10. Came in and the employee was incredibly nice. There were two cars ahead of me and I waited maybe 40 minutes. I have a 02 Civic and the price was very fair, just over 50 dollars. Went to their web page. Printed a $12 coupon. The price on the wall said $54 for minivans. I drive a Toyota Sienna minivan. He wouldn't honor the coupon because he claimed that Toyota's are more difficult. The whole process took 10 minutes and he sat in my car with his foot on the gas for 5 of those minutes. I can not recommend this place as i feel they are dishonest. read more

My mechanic is next door and recommended Valley smog. The mechanic got me in right away, gave me the price up front (a good price too!) and got right to work. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the smog tech who was a super nice guy. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes to have the check started and it was a reasonable price at 50 and change. Walked out of the shop in 20 minutes on a busy Saturday morning. Overall good quick work, would definitely take my cars here again. I have had my car smog checked here the last 3 times, and I have always been very satisfied. The wait isn't long, and I usually just walk in. The owner is super friendly, and always tries to make sure you are taken care of, like making sure his space heaters are warm and offering chocolate. Massoud, the owner is very nice, does his own work non stop all day, and is backed up all the time, but he gets thru the all efficiently,He is more then generous with discounts and will match offers, besides his own. Ever visit a business that you really want to succeed? This was one of those businesses to me. I came in because they had put a $12 off coupon in the "Welcome to the Neighborhood" Magazine and I needed smog check. The owner was able to take me in fairly quick without an appointment. The waiting area was clean and there seem to be a good selection of magazines. They also had heaters going since it was raining outside. About the only issue is the fumes and noise from the testing. The owner and his wife were very friendly and made me feel welcome. There was only one person in front of me and the owner seemed to be very thorough in trying to correct an issue with the car. My car made it through with no issues. After the test was done, the owner gave tips for completing the registration and an additional coupon for more discounts on a future visit. This was probably the most pleasant experience I have had having to get a smog check. read more

This gentleman was dishonest with me from the start. I asked him if he had any cars and if he was open (I was down the street). He said no, not knowing I'd be there in 2 minutes. When I got there he had a car on the roller and said he has another behind him. I explained to him that I just spoke with him and he said that he had no cars and politely refused to do business with him. As I walked away he bad mouthed me to a customer saying "everybody wants everything NOW blah blah blah". I ALMOST went back but decided to be the bigger man and review his shop instead so you are spared this poor treatment and disrespect. read more

I can only give 1 star because you can't get any lower. Fist, I called this place and asked if I brought my truck in could they smog it today. The female on that answered the phone asked me what I had and I told her then she hands the phone to the owner who tells me to bring it in by 5 and he can do it. Well after a 40 minute wait in 90+ degree weather he tells me that my truck is "modified" I have a cold air intake that IS California Legal and any mechanic would tell you that it was clearly legal just by looking at it. I had this place do my smog 2 years ago and not a word was mentioned then, but now all of a sudden it's "Modified". This guy then starts yelling at me as I'm trying to explain this to him and his female assistant repeatedly apologizes. I ask him who his biggest competition is and of course he "Doesn't know", but that's fine as I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN. I understand that there are rules he has to follow but the yelling and the attitude I will not tolerate ever from a place that I spend my money at ( or potentially spend money at). If I were you, you should go anywhere else to get your smog test done. This guy is unprofessional, rude, and then will try to run his mouth about you as you leave. What an a$$ hole. Do yourself a favor and don't go here for anything. read more

I visited this business because of its great rating here on Yelp. I visited them during a busy time. I spoke with the owner and indicated that I needed to have my later model Honda Prelude needed to be tested and wanted to know how much he would charge me. He indicated that "it all depends on the make and model your car, and its size". I told him the year, make model and that it's a small car. I showed him my DMV paperwork. He then told me that there is an "EVAP Fee" and pointed to the wall where he had a sign. I understood that older model cars have an extra test that must be run, and I have heard this would become a fee in the near future when I last smogged my car. The owner told me that he would give me a $10 discount. His prices seemed to be about $10-15 higher than other places in the area, but I was prepared to just take the plunge. His last question was "do you have *legal* aftermarket parts on the car?" I said yes, and that the parts were C.A.R.B. certified and that the certificate stickers were listed in plain view under the hood and matching the components. As a side note, I paid over twice as much money when I purchased these aftermarket parts just so they would be Certified and that I could smog test my car without headache. The owner indicated that he would have to charge me extra for each of the part, and in turn, more fees. I told him that I would have to take my business elsewhere since I have never heard of such a thing. This car has been tested at other stations for the last 3 vehicle registrations and never have I been asked to pay extra because I had legally modified my car. I went down the block and around the corner to another "Test Only" place who was cheaper and didn't charge me because I had modified my car LEGALLY. read more
