I'm rather embarrassed to be the (yelp) Duchess of All Island Yellow aka Valley Stream Taxi. They are a hot mess! My dealings with them this past month has spurred me to update my review. That and the fact that I don't want to take these horrid feelings into 2016 with me. (Some of) The dispatchers are very very very very unprofessional. They can get very rude to the point of hanging up on you when you call to enquire about cabs you requested 56 mins ago. It's like they drive a horse and carriage while you wait, but turn into too fast too furious as you sit in their cabs ie reckless driving. If you suffer with motion sickness, you definitely need a sea-band to travel even one mile with them! The cabs are smelly with doors that are so hard to properly close, that even their drivers complain that they won't fix anything. The windows don't work any better making it very hot in the summer but freezing in the winter. How do they get their cabs to be as back to front as they are? Now I fully comprehend that during peak hours and holidays cabs may run later than usual but not here! They run late all the time! You never know how to schedule around them because they can be over an hour later after their promised 10/15 min wait. OR....too early and, as you may make your request for a cab and hang up the phone, you hear a honk outside your door. (InTheArea smh) NOW, I wouldn't mind them being early, BUT If they're earlier than promised and heaven forbid you take too long running down some stairs and getting your coat on, they leave your arse right there! Just drive off. Not even waiting a few seconds, you've got to be standing outside like I usually am. My thought is, if you're super busy, why not explain that to us when we call? Honesty is one of the highest forms of respect in my book and they apparently don't respect the business (with tips) I/ we bring them! It's always "cab will be with you 10/15 mins".....MORONS! I'm not working in your office and some days even I know because of the weather your cab may take more than 30 mins to get to me! My gorsh my gorsh! A few of the drivers are TOO forward and there are one or two rude ones. The old man that says absolutely nothing is my favourite. Many of them are very pleasant but most of the dispatchers.....the dispatchers! ...(are) just plain nasty! Elder Caribbean people have a proverb, "de fish does rotten from de head", no matter how nice your workers are, if the head men suck then YOUR CAB COMPANY SUCK! Your duchess sucks! What are you doing to my street cred people!? I cannot recommend you! I'm saddened when I have to depend on this company to get around. If you have a choice PLEASE don't use this company. The young- looking driver who picked me up and drove me to the station today clearly had no iota of good customer service. He knows i am catching a train rather decided to drive slow and reclined his chair asa we stopped while I am desperately trying to open the van's side door. After 3 tries, I asked him for help. If I could give negative stars I would. I used to live in VS for years and had used the taxi service many of times. Now was the service pristine no. But when you called they picked you up within the time they said. Sometimes a little too quick. This is now the second time they made me miss my train therefore being late for an appointment. Seriously I was about to call Uber but figured it would be better to keep my business "local". Now they should see why taxis are losing their service to Uber. Scum Bag!!!!! I was told by a young woman working for this joke of a business that my car would be 10 minutes. After waiting for over 45 minutes I called to ask when my car would arrive, and was told that car would be there any minute. After another 10 minutes my second call to check on my car was treated with the utmost disrespect which ended in me being hung up on. I moved to the area 2 yrs ago and must say in my last residence, I hated Taxi's never on time smelly cars rude drivers, My ride to JFK fell through so I had to call a local taxi, Valley has proved to me they care, 80% of the time if I'm told 20 min they show up in 10 min, My drivers jump out of the car to help with my 1 piece of luggage, I get a nice ride nice driver cars are about a 8 on a 10 Scale but any car that is workings hard can't be perfect When I'm at the airport I haven't waited more then 30 min for a pick up and driver always calls a few minutes before he arrives to let you know he's approaching. This is the worst taxi company I've ever had the displeasure of paying far too much for a short commute. They basically have the monopoly over transport from the Valley Stream Station. The absolutely crazy guy they have dispatching is so unprofessional, it's embarrassing (wife-beater, cigarette flailing, shouting and jumping around, occasionally rapping). The cabs are filthy and stinking. A majority of the drivers are animalistic and road-ragey (really, in the suburbs?). They keep track of fares (?) using a pen and clipboard (?!), which they pull out and balance on the steering wheel to write on while driving (??!!!). Ask them nicely to please stop doing that, and their attitude stinks. More than once I was sure I'd die as the harried driver sped and darted in and out of lanes on a dark rainy night on the death trap known as Sunrise Highway. I've only ever had one decent driver who was working overtime on a holiday, exhausted as hell, and getting berated by his dispatcher/boss over the phone while we, as horrified passengers, listened on and pleaded with him to sue the bastard for worker abuse. To top it all off, the fares are outrageous, and here's why: Let's say it costs around $12 for a 4-mile journey for one person. That's ridiculous in itself, but okay. Then say you're a couple waiting for a cab, well that's $16-18 for two people. What?! Okay, so forget the $12, the fare is $16-18 if you're the type of person that, oh, I dunno, travels with your significant other to the city and needs a cab ride home from the station. Your train fare to Manhattan just *doubled* if you need cabs to and from the station. That pill swallowed, it gets worse. Once you get to the taxi rank or once the taxi gets to your location, you find that you are being shoved in with other passengers. Depending on the size of the taxi, that can be up to 4 or 5 other people. You will pay $18. Assuming there are only two other single fares in there, they pay $24. That's a $42 ride stuffed in a single cab with no discount per person despite the fact that they're sharing a cab! This makes absolutely no economic sense whatsoever. In other words: RIP OFF. The company SAVES money by packing you in; they save loads on gas and length of travel, while you become perilously late to miss your train because they're picking up and dropping people off all over suburbia. The world over, sharing a cab is a normal practice done to save on cab fare, not to pay more. This is the scam of the century. $18 to sit wedged between two repulsive strangers; perhaps a gum-chewing, iPod poking female with noisy headphones on one side, and a mumbling weirdo who smells like aged spam on the other side, in a stinking death trap hurling down the highway to my ultimate demise. In what upside-down world should anyone have to pay for that? So now when I need to get to/from the train station when there are no buses around, I just walk the 4 miles and consider myself lucky. read more

Right now at 1:25am, I'm standing on the side of Sunrise Highway. The cab driver nonchalantly let me out at 12:50am in the middle of nowhere after confirming the price with the dispatcher. He was wrongfully charging me $24 instead of $12 or $15 as usual. And I had more than enough cash on me. So, as a young woman I'm stranded. I spent all day writing essays to get into graduate school and just got back into town. I will never use this taxi stand ever again. Disgusting. The dispatcher said the driver should have at least taken me back to the taxi stand. So, they sent another cab to pick me up across the highway (which i agreed to. I just wanted someone to help quickly) which was difficult to cross at night with a book bag, laptop bag and handbag. So, the taxi left after two minutes. Worse car service in the history of car service business. The divers are very unprofessional, the dispatcher didn't put my 1st call in and I had to wait 45 minutes and when I called them back each operator kept telling me "I'm not the person who picked up your call" I called 4 times requiring where the car was. Thank you so much for the awful service I was late an hour and half for my doctor appointment if I would walk I would got there sooner. I would never use them again. And one 5 stars review !? This car company is the worst. I know to call at least a half and hour before I need to be somewhere because they say 10-15 minutes..which is a lie. There are a handful of reliable drivers if even that many and the rest are rude..cars are dirty..they don't know where they are going. I called an hour and 15 minutes before I needed to be the train and they had me wait that exact time when they said 20minutes...I missed two trains and was over an hour late for work. Two very hostile, unprofessional employees: James and Junior, represent just how low class this taxi service is. I witnessed a driver about to run over children outside of a day care, then continue to cut off cars, not signal, not stop at stop signs, and drive well above the speed limit. I took a picture of the back of the cab and immediately called the number when I saw a bunch of kids about to get run over. I was told the supervisor, Junior, would be in the next day and the drivers name is James (car 216). When I called and spoke to junior the next day, the response I received was beyond disgusting. "I live in that area and was a taxi driver for years. I know how those kids can be, they mumble under their breath. If a driver is having a bad day and doesn't want to deal with those kids, I don't blame him for driving like that." I was STUNNED. He then continued to tell me that I should not be paying attention to one of his drivers and should "drive around him." The fact that a supervisor said this to me makes the understand why the driver, James, drives the way he did. Unbelievably poor service. I called before boarding the train to confirm the price as I carry minimal cash. I got in the cab only to be told I was misinformed, and that the price was significantly higher than I had been told. Rather than admitting the error, the driver drove to multiple places with ATMs at 1:00 in the morning, to find them all out of order or closed. Mind you, I was not the only passenger in this taxi. After I said to take me home and that I would go find the change in my house, I was told that I was taking up too much of the driver's time, and since it wasn't my fault he would take what I had on me. I've missed my train way too many times using this service, even when calling an hour before my scheduled train is supposed to arrive. The dispatcher lies and tells you 10 or 15 minutes wait when its more like 45. They are also incredibly rude when you call. Youre much better off using Uber. This is really All Island Yellow and since they bought this company about a year ago, it has declined even further than the old owners from a few years ago. When I first moved to Valley Stream 12 years ago, the company was Airport Transportation. The dispatchers and drivers knew the customers, where they lived, who the regulars were and were fast and efficient. The company has changed hands at least 3 times. Fast forward to mid-2015 to now, and its under the ownership of All Island Yellow. The service is abysmal--all the good dispatchers and drivers have been let go. In their place are people who (1) don't have any clue about the neighborhood, (2) drivers who are rude, disrespectful and show a lack of safety concern on the road and (3) dispatchers who constantly quote wildly inaccurate wait times and delay giving the calls to the drivers when they come in. I've been in cars with drivers who clearly have smoked weed and are behind the wheel driving. All Island has a near monopoly of taxi service on Long Island and company culture seems to clearly give no shits about its customers based on the service at Valley Stream and other reviews here from other towns they are in. I used to take the service regularly in the mornings but not anymore as they almost never get there in the time they say resulting in my missing too many trains. When you call to inquire the status of the taxi, they never give you a direct answer. I use them now mostly after work where there are three dispatchers there that look out for the customers but they still have to deal with these so-called night drivers who never learn the neighborhood and expect us passengers to know how to get to one another's address. "So do you know how to get to your home from here?", is the opening phrase of one driver every single time. He's been here 3 months and still hasn't bothered to learn the routes. Just last week, he got pissed off by a passenger who stated she was new to the area and was confused about how the street ran. She gave him the address and the streets start and stop funny so you have to learn them. He had ZERO patience with her, told her that he didn't have time for this shit (his exact words) and dropped her off at the Walgreens on Central and Merrick Road. Didn't even bother to try and find her stop since all he needed to do was call into the base to ask them. Nah, too much trouble for him especially since I always got a slight bias vibe from the dude. So I've been searching for alternatives to this taxi service because they are alienating the community and I honestly feel if this culture keeps up, one of these drivers are going to some passengers with their unprofessionalism. HORRIBLE! Future and present patrons beware. The worst cab experiences I have endured in all my use of public transit have been under this company. Extremely unreliable drivers lacking the basic sense of direction, poor hygiene and nonexistent manners to boot. It gets better because racist cabbies can now be added to this list. Today, July 16th, 2017 at approximately 8:50pm, I was picked up by one of Valley stream cab's finest. As soon as I entered the vehicle, (cab 217 ) the older grey, male (and I use that term lightly ) took one look at me and for the duration of the ride, was extremely rude to me. He barked at me asking what my fare was, which I did not know and radioed in to the headquarters to confirm, then snarled at me with; "you heard that"?! I said yes and kept my cool. Then he proceeded to ask me for directions to my destination which I gave, even though you'd expect a local cabbie to have some familiarity with the route typically driven or have access to a map/gps in the very least. The directions I gave were off by one street, he then proceeded to raise his voice and berate me about my directions and I STILL kept my cool, then asked that he pull out his gps for directions (since that had to be spelled out for him). We reached my destination, I tipped him despite his rudeness and aggressive tone throughout the ride, he took his tip and tossed my change over to me without a word and finally I took it and said "you're welcome " and exited the vehicle. He then leaned over through the window and yelled n****r. I turned round and snapped a picture of him as he tried to speed off and as luck would have it, I have a witness and security footage from the front of the house I was dropped off. They think that because there aren't a lot of taxi providers in the area, they can do whatever they want. I have now actually rearranged my commute in order to avoid them. Just absolutely terrible. The cabs are smelly and disgusting and I feel sick as soon I step into them. They shuffle you around with many other passengers and drive like maniacs. I want to say that I used this taxi company this week to go to make a cemetery visit. The dispatcher was kind and helpful and the driver was unbelievable. He drove me there quickly and efficiently, waited patiently as I visited the grave, and, in fact, asked me if I was ok when leaving the cemetery or did I need to stop for something to drink. He brought me back to the station and was as gracious and polite as could be. If I coukd give 0 STARS I would! I have been a homeowner in the town of valley stream for 10 years and this is the WORST car service you could ever imagine. When you call to request a car they always say "10-15 minutes" - lie! More like 2015-30 minutes! There have been numerous occasion where I have missed 2 or 3 trains because of this company and have been late to work. I try to avoid using them as much as possible but sometimes you just need to take a cab. They are a complete monopoly. They will pack their taxis with 4-5 people at a time. And if they do take more than 30 minutes to pick you up, you would think there woukd be some cusgomer service, maybe a free ride or at least a discount for the inconvience - NOPE! THESE ARE MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS COMOANY AND THEY DONT CARE IF YOU ARE AN HOUR LATE FOR WORK. Even if you have been a loyal customer, which for a year i was, there is no loyalty or customer appreciation back. All they care about is the next ride and they jam pack their cars with as many people as possible to ensure they collect minimum $30 per ride. Its absolutely disgusting. But please avoid them at all cost - I live a 25 minute walk from the train and have walked in the cold rain and snow then to give them even a nickel of my money. It is the midst of a torrential downpour and wind storm and I was getting dropped off in front of the entrance to the train. I witnessed a minor fender bender. So disappointed with the Valley Stream Taxi customer service. My family has never had a problem using them for airport transportation until now. I called twice to book airport service for a trip for m husband and I. The first time I called, the woman answering the phones had no idea how to book airport transportation. I was asking what time we should be picked up for a 6:20 international flight and she was saying 4pm! I asked her if it was customary to get to the airport 3 hours before the flight and they had no clue! The second time I called back I spoke with a man who asked for our address. I told him that we would be getting picked up in Levittown and he said "we don't pick up in Levittown." We've used Valley Stream taxi for every vacation including trips in October, December and just last month. The operator told us that they don't pick up in Levittown and that I should call bethpage taxi. When I told the operator that we had been picked up before, he sounded shocked and got a price for us. When I questioned the price, the operator got really defensive. I believe they were trying to charge us above what we had previously paid to avoid us from booking with them. I will never again book with Valley Stream Taxi especially after I called bethpage Taxi and was greeted with a completely different responses and actually felt like being a customer was important to them. read more

Valley Stream taxi should get less than one star. I wish I had the time to write one of the perfectly worded reviews that others have shared. I can usually find at least one nice thing to say about anyone or anything, but when it come to this car service, there simply are no redeeming qualities. First, the dispatcher is about as pleasant as a hornet with a cold sore. If you try to catch a cab at the train station, you can wait for 20+ minutes until they find as many other people headed in your direction to stuff in the car. I believe it's $8.00 from the train station to my house (which is exactly 1.1 mile)...This means they can make $32 + tips in one shot. I don't generally mind sharing a cab with a stranger, but you think they could offer a multi-passenger discount. I also wouldn't mind if they invested some of the money into the up-keep of their cars. Almost every car I've been in possesses a strange odor. Also, if you look up front, you'll see every warning light available glowing. The majority of their cars should have been turned into scrap metal years ago, but they continue to chug along loudly and unsafely. Now, as a pedestrian and driver myself, I can attest that their drivers will all but slam into you to get where they are going. They have no problem flooring it and cutting off everyone while they drive recklessly around town. For a car service that is generally late and unreliable, they sure manage to speed through the streets of Valley Stream while laying on their horns when they have a pickup. Sorry guys, but in the early morning or late night hours, it wouldn't kill you to get out of your car a ring a doorbell...Tax paying residents really shouldn't be subjected to you honking your horn for 10 minutes while you wait for your fare. There really is no incentive for them to step up their game, so writing a review won't result in much change, but hopefully someone with integrity will take over the operation one day and resolve the many issues Valley Stream residents have with this odious taxi service. read more

They are the worse! The dispatcher simply doesn't care. I would ask them to be honest and tell me if they are behind since I could walk it if the wait will be 20 plus. Of course they tell you 15 to 20 minutes which turns out to be 30 plus by then it is too late for me to walk it = I am stuck waiting for them. I even call them 1 hour before I have to leave and they still manage go come 430 - 45 minutes after my first call. Not anymore since I now discover UBER!!! UBER is the bomb! I download the app and I always get a car 8 minutes or less! Love UBER. All I can say too bad no one else who depends on valley stream knows about using UBER! I now UBER has been around but never thought about giving them a try until my co-worker told me about them since she was sick of hearing me complain about valley stream. read more
