They have been the brightest light at this community. My honest review of the retreat is a combination of overworked, underpaid, understaffed workers who are too tired and stressed out. So, I will leave it at that. There are no warm and furry feelings over here. We have lived at The Retreat at Midway City for 1 year and we will be moving out later this month, (December 2025) and heading to the beautiful oasis of Promenade at Irvine Spectrum. In just the 1 week we have dealt with them, they have showed us the value in paying more for rent, being treated with dignity, excellent communication, follow-up, respect and a level of professionalism that is missing at the Retreat. We are ecstatic to be moving to Irvine!!! What is the worst thing about living here? There are several worse things we have encountered: 1. Bad attitudes 2. No money for services, so everyone is doing triple duty 3. Nobody seems to care about and are looking out for the residents. I have spent the last year, trying to be the bridge between management, maintenance and tenants. I speak to the residents to find out what they would like to see improved and the answers are the same as mines. My husband and I wipe down and clean the gym weekly, garbage areas, sweep, mop, throw out leftover trash & boxes, change air filters and spray home defense, because of the roaches on the first floor and garbage areas were taking over and greeting you at the door as you entered. We did this on our own, because we care about the tenants, where we live and wanted to help out our maintenance person. To boost the moral here, I personally make goodie bags with cards or notes and pass them out to the residents. I also decorate my little corner, and leave treats out to bring joy to them (which the tenants and delivery people love). I do this because I care and wanted to change the moral around here. But me and my husband have had enough!!!! When a tenant is allowed to let her dog poop and urinate, on my second floor and don't clean it up that says it all about how people value living here. It took me multiple times calling, sending emails, texting management and maintenance expressing how unsanitary and disgusting this was and asked them to review the footage to find out who did this nasty thing! Someone could have slipped and fell and injured themselves. So, in summary, I know the rent is much cheaper here, than let's say, Irvine or Newport, but cheaper isn't always better! We need to require better, for a better quality of life. On a happier note, please enjoy all the pictures and places we were able to visit so far during our 2 years living in Southern California (SoCal). California is blessed with beautiful gardens, tons of beaches and remarkable places to visit year-round. It's beautiful, coastal, mild weather is one of the reasons we moved here. :) So, get out and explore your state! Check out the places I posted and let me know how you liked them when you visit them. #CaliforniaDreamin #movingontogreenerpastures

Our mom was in a larger facility where she was not getting the personal attention she was needing. We felt that mom would be happier in a home-like setting where she saw the same people all the time. At Sweet Home Care, our mom received so much love and care. The Administrator, Nicoleta, was in constant communication with us. The care givers were wonderful in every way. They worked tirelessly for each of the residents. The food was healthy and fresh. My mom let us know that the food tasted good. The facility's surroundings were fresh and clean. We had no idea just how blessed we were to have our mom cared for the way Nicoleta, and her staff, cared for her. The communication was great! We were informed, in a timely manner, as mom's needs changed. We were informed of the transitional phases of end of life. Nothing came as a surprise. If you have to place your loved one in a facility, I highly recommend that you think about a residential care home. While we were sorry for the circumstances, we were blessed to be led to "Sweet Home Care" where our mom received the best experience! Thank you Nicoleta, and staff, for taking such good care of our mom! Much love and respect, Barry, Sandy, and Sherry

Kurt Davis was insightful, understanding and incredibly professional. The caregivers they sent to us were attentive, responsive, experienced and very kind. It made an incredible difference as each day brought new challenges. Not only were the care givers providing excellent care to our mother, they were also helping us learn how we could best support her care. We really appreciated their keeping a clear log of the care that was provided and insuring that our mother, who was bed-bound, was attended to with compassion. We would highly recommend the care and service that this agency provides!!! Shelley S.

From the moment I contacted them, they were attentive, responsive, caring and compassionate as I navigated an emotionally taxing situation with my father who has early onset Alzheimer's. They placed a home health aid for our family in less than 24 hours notice and the aid provided demonstrated an impressive level of knowledge, skill, and experience in their field. They were able to quickly asses my fathers needs and provided tailored care that met his unique requirements. Whether it was helping with meals, assisting with daily life activities or providing emotional support - this aid was always there with a warm smile and reassuring presence. The attention to detail and level of care was so reassuring and it helped my entire family feel completely at ease - like we were welcoming a friend into our home. The aid provided was also an excellent communicator and kept us informed on all of my dads needs and activities. We were honestly sad to see our time end with the aid provided by Legacy Homecare and I cannot recommend their services enough. I will absolutely use them in the future and am incredibly grateful for finding them in a time of extreme stress and anxiety. As an extra layer of service - they even sent my dad and I a beautiful bouquet of flowers! Thanking us for entrusting them with my dads care. It was a heartwarming gesture that companies today rarely go the extra mile on for their customers. Legacy Homecare is a gem and reflection of a company that is passionate about those they care for!

When we found Raya's Paradise, for the first time since my mother's illness began, I felt that she was finally in a place where I no longer had to worry about her health and/or security. Thanks to the caring, attentive and professional caregivers at Raya's Paradise, my mother's physical health has stabilized. The caregivers ensure that my mother 's daily hygiene is taken care of properly and that her mediation is taken regularly and on time. And even though the Alzheimer's disease is progressing, the caregivers at Raya's Paradise continue to provide my mother, along with the other residents, with personalized care and supervised group activities which are both engaging and fun. These activities, which also help my mother with socialization, include singing with guest musicians, brain stimulation games, painting and physical exercise. Thus far, not one resident has gotten sick from the Covid virus. During the state-ordered quarantine, while the caregivers are continuing to provide the residents with kindness and care around the clock, the administrators of Raya's Paradise have now provided each of the Raya's Paradise facilities with a dedicated ipad to be used for facetime between the residents and their family members. Believe me, I feel much better now, knowing that I can still speak with and see my mother during these stressful times. The administration of Raya's Paradise is made up of respectful, sympathetic, courteous and well-educated people who continually strive to do their best to make sure that their residents have the best and most up-to-date care. In fact, of all of the facilities I've looked at, none have matched the ratio of residents to care-givers at each of the facilities (2 caregivers for every six residents). But perhaps most importantly is the fact that everyone at Raya's Paradise is dedicated to providing my mother, and all of the other residents, with the dignity and respect that they so well deserve, in a clean, safe and healthy living environment. Thank you, Raya's Paradise, for caring and for the great work that you do!!
