This new trash company has provided terrible service since taking over. They constantly look for excuses not to pick up trash. They missed previous pickups, which caused trash to accumulate, and now they refuse to collect it unless I remove items they claim are "too much"--even though the overflow happened because they failed to pick it up in the first place. To make matters worse, they want to charge extra for a separate pickup for a problem they created. I have called, texted, and emailed multiple times with little to no response. Their customer service has been unacceptable, and the drivers seem unwilling to do their job properly. The previous company provided much better service. I do not understand why the city changed providers. Based on my experience, this company is unreliable, unprofessional, and the worst trash service I have ever dealt with. I hope the community joins together in asking the city to replace them with a company that actually provides the level of service residents deserve. read more

This company is horrible. They failed to send invoices wait for over a month then send an invoice stating you are 60 days in a arrears. Total crooks. PS I am a senior and a widow. It's just me first they drop off three huge bins and then they double them so I had to go through all the phone calls getting them to come pick them up the money hungry and should be investigate for overcharging. read more

I've had an extremely poor experience with Valley Vista Services. My trash pickups have been missed multiple times, and when I report it, they delay service by several days. This has led to foul odors and unsanitary conditions at my home. For something as basic as trash collection, this level of inconsistency is unacceptable. Their operations in my hillside neighborhood are also unsafe. Trucks regularly block narrow roads, make questionable turns, and operate near low or hidden power lines. At one point, a truck blocked the road for about five hours, and I had to contact the California Highway Patrol myself because they did nothing to manage the situation. I've also had to work directly with a supervisor who required drivers to submit photo proof just to confirm my trash was picked up -- that tells you how unreliable the service is. On another occasion, my trash cans were placed blocking my doorway, which I have photos of. Whether intentional or not, it was completely inappropriate. To make matters worse, management has been dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly incompetent. Concerns are ignored, explanations are inconsistent, and no real solutions are provided. Overall, this has been a frustrating and ongoing issue. I would not recommend this company. read more

This is our 12th missed pick ups in the last 5 years. This company needs to go. Always missing pick ups and even with email and calling them, it still doesn't help. Their company is getting worse and worse. Our missed pick ups were so frequent that I had to demand a credit. Why are we paying so much when they don't give a rats a$&?! Giselle, the manager got tired from hearing from me and stopped responding to me. I wouldn't have to call you if your employees just did their jobs. The drivers are rude and will leave if Amazon is blocking the bins ...again, not my fault. Seems like this company needs a whole new team or city needs to choose another trash company. Their words are nice, but their attitude isn't. They often become rude but they wrap it up with nice words. When they mischarged the fund, they would take the extra fund out without notice and then send out the receipt. They don't even apologize ahead of time. Such a long wait for the customer service. When I call in to make the payment, they refuse, because it's not my turn. I have to wait until I miss the call, then I can call, and they'll say, 'I reached you, but you weren't available'. That's why I called in earlier to avoid it. They don't consider other's time valuable. But this isn't even consistent. Sometimes, they will take the payment but sometimes not. Compared to other companies, they are relatively low in price for the roll-off bin. They do the work. If I had a better price with another company, I would move on. read more

The first two dumpster request went by super easy. The third one has been nearly impossible to get. They've rescheduled the drop off of the dumpster 4 times already! They keep pushing it back and acting like it's our fault we haven't picked up. Accusing us of having the dumpster blocked when they've never showed up. I was on the intersection of South Chester Avenue and East Cordova in the City of Pasadena, I properly waited for the signal to turn into WALK. A third into the pedestrian lane, VVS driver, going south on Chester Avenue, made an accelerated left turn, and came to hit me and my dog within 12" of your truck's bumper. I am writing to share my deeply frustrating experience with Valley Vista Services in hopes that management will finally listen and address the ongoing issues with my account. I have always paid my bills and expect to be treated fairly, but my recent interactions have been nothing short of a nightmare. Clear Payment History, Ongoing Issues My records show I have paid all invoices on time since August 2024, with no past due balances: 8/1/24-10/31/24: Paid $234.48, $0 past due. 11/1/24-1/31/25: Paid $175.86, $0 past due. 2/1/25-4/30/25: Paid $175.86, $0 past due. Unexplained Double Charges and Overdraft Fees On February 6, 2025, my trash was not picked up. I called and was told I had an outstanding balance for the previous period. I immediately paid $175.86 and agreed to set up autopay. The same day, Valley Vista withdrew another $175.86 for the new period-without notifying me. This double charge caused three overdraft fees totaling $106 from my bank. When I called to request a refund for the unauthorized second payment, I was told it could not be returned, and I was also charged a $25 return payment fee for money Valley Vista took without notice. There was no courtesy call or email to warn me about the additional withdrawal. Threats of Service Suspension Despite Being Paid Up On April 3, 2025, I received an email warning of a temporary stop service notice for an overdue amount of $200.86, even though the billing period had not ended and I was current. I attempted to pay online but was forced to call in. On April 10, I spoke with a representative who told me I needed to pay $342.27 to restore service. I paid this amount, only to be told immediately after that I still owed $116.28. Confused, I paid that as well-$458.55 in total in one morning. Despite this, my trash was not serviced. When I called, I was told there was a "mix-up" and service would resume the next day. Two weeks later, my cans were again not serviced, and I was told I owed another $85.00. In-Person Visit and Lack of Accountability I went to the Valley Vista office in person with my bank statement to prove my payments. Staff insisted I still owed $85, despite my records and recent payments totaling $543.55 since April 10-far above my normal billing rate of $175.86 per cycle. I asked for an investigation and resolution by the end of the day, but received no follow-up. Unacceptable Practices and Overpayment Since April 10, I have paid $543.55 when my regular rate is $175.86. I have overpaid by $367.69 and demand a refund-not a credit. I will not pay any late fees for a period that is not yet over. It is not permissible for a trash company to refuse service or charge late fees when accounts are current, nor to mix debts between unrelated accounts. Each account should be treated independently, and customers should only be responsible for their own fees. What Needs to Happen Immediate refund of $367.69 in overpayments. Removal of all late fees and unjustified charges. Written confirmation that my account is current and service will not be interrupted. A review of Valley Vista's billing and notification practices to prevent this from happening to other customers. If this is not resolved promptly, I will escalate my complaint to my local government's sanitation department, city hall, and consumer protection agency, as recommended for unresolved waste management disputes. Valley Vista, please listen to your customers and fix your broken billing and communication systems. This experience has been stressful, costly, and completely avoidable. I expect a prompt response and resolution. read more

I was told that they would come onto my property and take away any private company dumpster that i rent for my home's demolition. They went onto to tell me that I have to use their company dumpster rental and that I would be on the hook for the impound fees of them towing away the any one else's dumpster. The problem with all of this is that you legally cannot come onto my property and take anything that doesn't belong to you, that is called theft. Making threats isn't the way to go, many neighbors are aware of the threat that was made and it will be brought up to the city when the contract is up for renewal. I spoke to the company chose to rent from and they laughed saying it is not the first time this company has told it's costumers that as a scare tactic to get them to rent a dumpster from them and went onto to tell me about all the legal troubles valley vista would have if they actually tried to do something like that. read more

Valley vista recently took over our trash services, it's only been 5 days and I have serious concerns. 1. their customer service line always receiving high call volume. 2. A woman could email me asking me what services I want to upgrade to, or add additional services but I can't get a response when I ask for a call back. 3. Their gentlemen who delivered our dumpsters seem to be more helpful & customer service minded than Janelle on the customer service chat. I wish I had their names, very knowledgeable about services offered, accommodations that could be made & extremely polite. 4. I have had no pick ups, but "my plan is twice a week" Monday-Saturday and it's Friday, seems odd to have back to back pick ups if anyone shows up today. 5. Service inquire form goes to the same woman who answers the chat, so I'm not surprised why my issues can't be solved. This is the third week in a row they have not picked up our trash. I have valet service since I am not able to drag the trash bins over the (large) lawn. Having to sit on the phone every week and wait for a customer service representative is so frustrating. I love that they have 2 bulky items for pick up a year per household in Cypress. You must schedule. They also have random days throughout the year where they will pick up big items from the neighborhood. Just check your mailbox for their newsletters. I'm only confused on the new compost containers/pick up. Newsletter stated a day. I placed my container outside on that day above my green bin. Well, the compost container was on the floor broken. Then the newsletter stated compost pick up on Mondays. I left my green compost trash bag outside and saw only the crows eat it. I wish they were more detailed on dates/times/location. Horrible experience, spoke to customer service manager in regards to to residential driver who keeps flipping lids after he or she services the barrels. Manager states I don't see what the problem is with lids being left open, also said I have to check with road supervisor to see if it's in the contract that states we have to leave lids closed after it's serviced. Also said what's the big deal if lid is left open, you have to touch the lid in order to throw trash? What kind of customer service manager are you? This review is SOLELY based off of their customer service. Which is by far one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. From creating an account online, calling their customer service line, using their chat feature, or emailing their customer service team... I would need to quit my job and make it my full-time job contacting them, if I wanted to speak with someone. Even if doing so, chances are slim. I simply wanted to create an online account so that I COULD PAY MY BILL and when it did not work with all the information THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP provided, I was pretty much told "oh well, we don't know how to help you." Any interaction I have had with employees from this company has been completely pointless. When I say that I have wasted over 12 hours of my time with this company with no resolution, I am not being exaggerative. The best news of all of this (sarcasm) ..they are the only service provider in my area. Cancelling my contract is no option. Needless to say, I am extremely unhappy with my services and by reviewing other reviews, I see I am not the only one. This company needs to do better for their paying customers. The driver of this truck was driving recklessly on Thursday, April 8, 2021 up Colima RD (in the middle of construction) in Whittier going towards Hacienda Heights as it turned into one lane. He was intimidating drivers by driving recklessly towards their rear bumpers and everyone had to move out of his way. I think he was in a hurry. I called the company to pick up a trailer of dirt at my place of business. The individual I spoke to was not truly helpful and a little rude. This is the first time I called about this sort of issue, I was argued with about the time the contractor called for the initial pick up, I mean maybe he left a voicemail? I have zero idea.
