They don't teach the kids much, it's more like a fun class for them. They never correct them as far as what they are doing wrong.

Empire Cheer and Stunt is an "okay" gym for All Stars. The program is expensive for what you get…read more I really didn't know what to compare their program to until I left and enrolled my granddaughter in another, more experienced All Star program. It truly is like night and day. The cost for the new program is up front, no surprises. Each category of skill and placement of each athlete is clearly defined. There are rules in the parent viewing area to ensure that there is no gossiping or other negative behavior. At Empire, gossiping and negative remarks were the norm. I stopped going into the cramped, hot and toxic viewing area at Empire because it was not a pleasant experience. Another example of the toxic culture of Empire was when attending a parent meeting where the owner, Rachelle, proceeded to say that a bad review was coming because a someone was kicked off the team. The team moms bashed parents for their lack of parenting skills because athletes missed practices. It was terrible. The meeting was called because of the lack of cohesion among the team. Whose fault is that? Coaches create that dynamic. Parents can only do so much. The team moms did set up a gathering but it was to make hats that cost more money. The new gym offer camps that create an opportunity for the team to bond and get to know each other. Finally the coaches at the new gym are professional and upbuilding. My granddaughter is shy and after the very first practice, she came back beaming at the fact the coach recognized her effort. The only thing she told me about Empire coaching was that she got yelled at. I do not recommend this program at all. Save your hard earned money for a better program.

Close to our home which is nice. I'd bring My daughter again if it helps her reach goals. She's been in gymnastics for a few years when she was young this appears to provide support.

Corona Stars Cheer has been one of the best things that has happened to my daughter. I never sign…read moreanything without completely reading, so after reading the contract I understood what was going to be required of my daughter as well as my family. All star cheer IS NOT for the faint of heart. It requires hours of practice and full dedication. My daughter has learned what it means to be a part of a team and has made so many amazing friends who push her to do her best. She is completely dedicated and absolutely loves to cheer, and I truly believe that the athlete needs to have their head in the game to understand what it takes to be fully committed. Practice hours are long, but in order to succeed you need to put in the time. I'm all about having fun, but if I'm paying for an awesome program I expect awesome results, and Corona Stars supersedes that expectation! This D2 gym will get your athlete the training they need, they just have to be willing to put in the work! The coaches are amazing and knowledgeable! I highly recommend this gym to any athlete wanting to begin, improve or perfect their cheer and /or tumbling skills!

This is not somewhere I'd recommend if you want your child to be emotionally or mentally safe. I…read morebrought my daughter here after the COVID pandemic shut down her previous gym. In the beginning I felt like the owner's values and mine weren't really aligned but my 11 year old daughter wanted to join and so we did. From July to October there was no team bonding as mentioned in the website. The relationships were not intentionally built as it was in my daughters previous gym. The expectation was simply practice and pay. As someone who has been an educator for 21 years and is currently in a career that team building is all I do, I offered the owner my help to get the girls to build their bonds through team building activities. I was shut down. As time went on, my daughter became the target of many of the girls and bullied by the other girls. She was the outcast. I addressed my concerns twice with the owner and coach and each time I was assured that "she would put a stop to it". That never happened. I advised my daughter that we could leave the gym at any time but she repeatedly wanted to keep trying and she stated she didn't want to let her team down. My child was shunned and confronted weekly by other girls on her "team" until the final straw when my daughter expressed to me through tears that her mental and emotional health was suffering. At that point my husband and I made the decision AFTER SPENDING well over $1,000 without ever competing, to pull my daughter. Before we left, my daughters rarely used cheer shoes were Falling a part and we were waiting on a replacement. These shoes cost over $100. Since leaving, the owner has not let me know of our replacements were in. We find raised and paid for competition fees that my daughter never attended and were never offered any of that money back. I say that to point out that the only thing she values is the dollar. She doesn't keep children safe as stated in her website and she doesn't do any team bonding. Cheer is an amazing opportunity for young girls to grow, learn new skills, and empower each other. If you're looking for any of that for your daughter I HIGHLY recommend another gym as you will not get that from this BUSINESS.
