Empire Cheer and Stunt is an "okay" gym for All Stars. The program is expensive for what you get…read more I really didn't know what to compare their program to until I left and enrolled my granddaughter in another, more experienced All Star program. It truly is like night and day. The cost for the new program is up front, no surprises. Each category of skill and placement of each athlete is clearly defined. There are rules in the parent viewing area to ensure that there is no gossiping or other negative behavior. At Empire, gossiping and negative remarks were the norm. I stopped going into the cramped, hot and toxic viewing area at Empire because it was not a pleasant experience. Another example of the toxic culture of Empire was when attending a parent meeting where the owner, Rachelle, proceeded to say that a bad review was coming because a someone was kicked off the team. The team moms bashed parents for their lack of parenting skills because athletes missed practices. It was terrible. The meeting was called because of the lack of cohesion among the team. Whose fault is that? Coaches create that dynamic. Parents can only do so much. The team moms did set up a gathering but it was to make hats that cost more money. The new gym offer camps that create an opportunity for the team to bond and get to know each other. Finally the coaches at the new gym are professional and upbuilding. My granddaughter is shy and after the very first practice, she came back beaming at the fact the coach recognized her effort. The only thing she told me about Empire coaching was that she got yelled at. I do not recommend this program at all. Save your hard earned money for a better program.

She also went over the payment. I was told it would be the yearly fee and the monthly fee for both of my kids. I agreed. I confirmed that was all we needed to do and she said yes. My fault for not asking for a print out receipt. I am 10000% positive I went to the front desk immediately after the class because the front staff told me that if I didn't sign them up within a certain time period my kids would lose their spots in that class. So we signed them up that day. Today we go in and the manager announced, in front of the parent area, that I didn't register my kids after their trial class. "yes I did", I said as I'm walking into the office. She proceeded to tell me, now with an attitude, that I didn't. I kept telling her that I did and she kept arguing with me saying "you may have thought you came up to the desk to register but you didn't." I get what she is saying that the kids are not registered in the system, but There is a difference between saying a customer didn't do something (after the customer is positive that they did) and being extremely rude about it vs. saying the payment didn't go through or there may have been a technical error with the computer. or what this manager should have said "I'm sorry, it seems like the payment didn't go through or there may have miscommunication about registering and I'll talk with my staff to ensure it doesn't happen again." But she stuck with the, "you didn't do it" or "you may have thought you did but you didn't." This is terrible customer service practice and terrible management. I am stern but I am not a rude person at all. I do not yell or raise my voice. I was clearly frustrated and making it the only point that her tone and blaming me is unprofessional and uncalled for. I have a lot of understanding for things happening such as bad days and technical difficulties but to argue with a customer and talk down to them and blame them for something that was the fault of the staff at the front desk for not ensuring the payment went through or following through with what she said she was going to do is unprofessional and a terrible way to manage. After I decided to not continue at this gym, I asked for the owners information. The manager continued her attitude and said I can email on the "contact us" email. I went to the front to get that email and she immediately said she has no contact information of the manager. Also, with a bad attitude. I asked her to write down the owners email and she rudely pointed to the company card and said I can email on the company email and she might see it there. I have a career in customer service and no way would I ever allow the staff of my business to handle situations like that. It's funny that this happened immediately after my husband and I were watching our kids stretching and noticed the coaches not correcting their forms. They were sitting down on their tablets. What's the point of stretches and growing as a gymnast if you don't correct the forms? That's where the fundamentals start like pointing your toes for everything and it doesn't benefit the stretch if it's not done properly. This is a beginner class where all those things are important to learn. I guess this was a sign to stay away! If you have cameras in the building I suggest you listen to those and watch the videos to see how your manager was. They represent your business. It Sucks because my kids liked the first class and wanted to do gymnastics here. It was close enough where we could go and we heard some good reviews. Unfortunately I cannot support a business with bad management and staffing.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this gymnastics company. Their cancellation…read morepolicy is completely absurd. I was charged an additional $185 for a month worth of sessions that I had clearly communicated we would not be attending--I contacted them over two weeks prior to the next month's billing cycle. I missed their policy's deadline by 5 days. Despite giving more than reasonable notice, they refused to accommodate or offer any form of resolution. You will be charged even if you cancel and do not attend because they keep your card on file. On top of that, when I tried to discuss the issue, I was met with rudeness and a complete lack of professionalism. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry for over a decade, I was shocked and deeply concerned by how poorly this business is run. Additionally, they announced they would be closed on Labor Day, which fell on my child's scheduled class. You'd assume that would be credited or a make-up offered--nope. We were told she couldn't make up the class, and we were still charged for a full 4-week month despite the fact she will only be receiving 3 classes. Beyond the financial issues, the facility itself is subpar: it's very warm, making it uncomfortable for both kids and parents, and it's extremely difficult to watch the older kids' classes due to poor layout/design. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and I strongly urge other parents to read every bit of the fine print before signing up. Or better yet, take your kids elsewhere, like we have. If you take the time to read their other reviews, you'll notice we're far from the only family with concerns. Don't waste your time or money here.

The coach sat the entire time, simply giving instructions, which made it difficult for my daughter, who is brand new, to keep up with the warm-ups and across-the-floor exercises. Despite this being a Tumbling 1 class, they were doing back walkovers and front walkovers during across-the-floor drills. How is this considered a beginner-level class? My daughter didn't receive any spotting, even though she can't do a back walkover yet and was trying her best to keep up. I initially gave the coach the benefit of the doubt since she mentioned she wasn't feeling well that day. However, when we returned the following week, it was the same thing. The coach began the class sitting down, gave instructions, demonstrated a little, but again didn't spot or assist the new students at all. It feels like a Tumbling 1 class here assumes you're already trained and just need a space to practice. While the coach seems skilled, they lack the teaching approach necessary for beginners. A true beginner class should involve more hands-on assistance and spotting to help build confidence and ensure the students are learning safely. This is not how a beginner program should be run.

Honestly completely disappointed. My daughter started in the spring and everything seems fine and she loved it so we returned in the fall and recommended 2 other girls as well that signed up. This fall season was a complete disappointment. Very little to no communication, I understand that things happen but not communicating these issues is a big red flag for me. There was a "issue" with uniforms and competition dates so as anyone would I tried (as well as several deleted parent comments) to message and comment for information. I sent several messages and commented several time as did other parents stating they had been trying for several days to get a response but got nothing. It wasn't until several parent got extremely upset did we get information on the uniforms and competition dates for Apple valley. Keep in mind that the "original" competition date was November 19 with ZERO information on where, time or even if Apple Valley could compete... we FINALLY got some info about this November 15...unacceptable, days before. So the dates were changed to December 17...But the biggest issue was not taking responsibility for the lack of communication and not responding to anyone until seeing how upset people were. I understand things happen but we paid money for this and communication should be expected when things come up. We will not be returning to Cheer Cats ever. They refuse to give us a refund for their mess up. They stole money and see no issue with this. This is not a cheer company I would ever recommend to anyone.
