I received a call back the next day and the receptionist Jamie, booked me 2 1/2 weeks later, the day before Thanksgiving at 9am, when I needed the cleaning by. She asked for my Groupon code and marked it redeemed before the service was even completed which I thought was odd. She said she would text me confirmation and photos of how I should move furniture for the crew. I received photos of what my house should look like as far as set up. The day before my scheduled service, one of the crew called and asked me if they could come that day- I was not at home so I said no, but they could start earlier than 9 if they needed to. He asked to come at 8, I said ok. The next morning I got my two toddlers ready early and being 9 months pregnant getting a house cleaned for tile cleaning is no easy feat. By 9am they still had not showed, already an hour late. I called and texted both the crews phone that had reached out the day before and the company number, both no answers. I left multiple messages and texts over the next couple hours with no returned calls. My husband then left a review on Yelp stating the company had still not showed and the outlook wasn't good for this company- over 3 hours late and of course the service was already paid for... By 11:15 I finally received a call from Jamie, not regarding my service or where the tech was or why I hadn't received a call back but instead she began to yell at me for my husband's 1 star review. I wasn't aware my husband left a review at the time so was thrown off guard but now realize if he hadn't, I most likely would have never even gotten a call back. She said she couldn't get a hold of the tech herself and continued to yell at me about the review. She then told me I had a window of 9-11 even though I was asked to have the house ready by 8am. Then she texted me confirmations of a date and window which was the first I was seeing, and the window in the text said 9-12. Nothing was adding up. She said she would call me back when she got a hold of the tech but I wasn't hopeful. She then continued to text me hostile messages about my husband's honest review and the "window"... Sure enough after another hour, after Noon, over 4 hours from when they were supposed to start I called and texted with no answer, that I would be requesting a refund from Groupon and that clearly they had no intention of servicing my tile that day. Apparently they have many negative reviews with similar situations, some buried by what I can only guess are her own positive reviews from personal Yelp accounts. Terrible company to work with. Took half my day off to wait around for a technician to come that was supposed to be there around 11-1. No one comes. I call and they say they will send someone out at 1pm. The guy finally comes and he is practically high because he is asking ME what he's supposed to do...uhmm clean the grout and tile? Duh? He then says he forgot his sprayer at the last house in scottsdale so he has to go to home depot to get another one...home depot is down the street yet it took him an hour to get it and get back. So he starts finally at 2pm. I told him to let me know when he needs to go in to the master room for the bathroom as I have my animals in there with me out of the way and I will have to move them. He says ok. An hour goes by and I walk out after hearing silence, and he's gone! He never once even knocked on the door or said anything. The owner who is also a U.S. Marine came out with an assistant and they did a great job. I have cream travertine throughout my house (except the bedrooms). I bought this house a few months ago and have never been able to get the floors clean. I had no idea until today they are light cream not medium beige. There is hardly a smell at all, just a little noise (similar to a vacuum). The floors were cleaned and sealed in about an hour. Support our men of service! Use Valleywide stone care. He also told me he secretly recorded the bid interview, and would use it against me, if I don't remove my reviews, though this is laughable, as the items he wishes to blackmail me with are not an issue, and, if the full consult is recorded, will demonstrate how he scammed me. He stated in an email that he records all of his bids, which makes me wonder about his motives. My take? Don't take the job, if , for any reason you don't plan to/ don't think you can deliver. He says, now, that my floor was only to be cleaned, not stripped, which is what he says now would be required, though the receipt lists stripping, and, honestly a) the floor was not even clean and b) who the f' would pay over $1000 after tip for a cleaning? I could have had a housecleaner mop the floor, with better results, for $100 How often does this man try to blackmail disgruntled customers into removing reviews, with illegal recordings? My experience: extremely poor customer service and workmanship. I used a deal voucher for cleaning and also paid for a light honing. The owner told me the honing would at least even out appearance/surface of my travertine floors, and I could always do more honing down the road. The work spanned days instead of hours, and once complete, my travertine floors were left with ground-in swirls covering the entire surface. I tried to work with the owner to resolve the issue. Once I was finally able to make contact with the company, the owner and his helper came to my house to inspect the problem. The conversation became heated very quickly, and i felt extremely insulted and uncomfortable, and ended up telling them to just leave my house. I have chalked this experience up to a loss and learned to do more homework in the future. The grout in my rental hadn't been cleaned in three years and was close to black. Valley Wide Stonecare came in sprayed a solution on the tile surfaces and that's when I left. After only about an hour, they had finished. Although the grout did look cleaner, it was difficult to assess the outcome since the tile was still wet. I was assured that the grout would lighten even further as the cleaning solution dried, and it did - mostly. Overall, I was very happy with the results. Why only four stars? For one, because they use a machine, they were unable to clean the three inches of tile in the kitchen perimeter around cabinets as the machine can not reach these areas. Update (jan 4, 2012): I had these folks come out again several months ago. They cleaned and sealed my upstairs back balcony. It's a very large space paved in flagstone tile. They were neat and clean in their work and the job still looks great. They did nick a few bits of paint on the balcony walls, but were quick to come out and repair it. If i could give this company a 0 I would! I bought a Groupon for Porcelain Tile and Grout Cleaning and Sealing for 900 sq. ft. for $149.00. The man came out at 11:30a.m. on June 30th, and told me that I needed to put plastic around all the pieces that I didn't move outside. I told him that the lady at the call center told me just to put plastic around my couch. I got up at 5:30a.m.to take 2 hours to move all the furniture that I could move outside. I proceeded to put plastic around all the furniture left, and when I was done, I went to get him and he had left! I called the office and she said that they would have to re-schedule since I wasn't ready! I asked her to speak with the owner and she said that she would have him call me, but he never did! I went outside to bring all of my furniture back inside and remove the plastic from the furniture that was too heavy to move outside. I called Groupon to dispute the charge and the recording told me to email them so I did. I also disputed the charge with my Visa credit card company. I feel that you have to be CRAZY to use this company because they don't tell you that you have to put plastic around all the pieces left on the floor that you don't move outside on the Groupon or noone in their right mind would purchase it unless the house or apartment was empty! I generally don't write any reviews, but the behaviour of this merchant forced me to write one. I purchased a Groupon voucher for $225 to clean tiles of my vacant house. The merchant insisted on getting the Groupon voucher number in order to schedule the job and marked the voucher as redeemed on the day it was called to schedule an appointment. Since the house was vacant I insisted 30 minutes notice prior to arrival. They gave me a window of 9 am-12 noon on Wednesday 2/15/17 and I was constantly checking with them, since I received no message about their arrival, At 1:20 pm I received a text message saying they will arrive @ 1:48 pm, when they did arrive at the house, my tile guy was working on kitchen backsplash and they said we need to reschedule the appointment . Since they don't want anyone inside the house at the time of service. Again after several arguments, I got the appointment scheduled for Friday again no time slot was given and no notice, I was told that they already have an appointment in my same zip code between 11-12, so they will be at my house anytime after that. I insisted in 30 min notice, since nobody lives there, which was agreed upon at the time of rescheduling. Beyond disappointed! I booked Valleywide directly a week ahead of time. I did not receive a confirmation call the night before so morning of my appointment I called and left a message confirming my appointment. A woman by the name of Jammie I think was her name returned my call and confirmed my appointment. She told me at 11:30 in the morning that they were running a little late because originally she told me they would be there between 11 and 12. I understand things come up so I was more than patient when she said they would call me 30 minutes before they show up that way I could go grab something to eat and not risk them showing up while I was not there. By 1:00 still no call from them so I left another message asking for an estimated time of arrival. Jammie returned my call at 1:45 to tell me that they were on their way and to thank me for being patient. Only until I mentioned that he had cracked the grout in my hallway and was expecting him to fix it prior to payment of the rest of the funds, he instantly lost his composure and called me a "Con Artist" and "Criminal" and that if I did not pay for the job done that he would file a lean against my house as well as many other threats. He told me he would not accept a check at this point even though we paid with a check that cashed without issue for the initial deposit. Yesterday Darrell from Valley wide stone care came to my home. I had read about them through Groupon. The woman who took my call asked me not to pay Groupon but Darrel after he did the work. When he entered I asked him about the process they used, since I thought when you seal grout you do it after the floor is clean. He told me the sealer was in the cleaning process. They refused to move a chair in the LR. and were finished in less than 30 minutes. When I went to pay him he said I was condescending to them and refused to take a credit card or check. He told me to go to a bank and use an ATM card. He was very frightening and since I was alone in the house I quickly paid him cash. I closed the garage and was thankful to see them leave. Seeing all of the good ratings, i thought they would be more professional. I had to call twice to set up an appt. On the second attempt, I was able to get it set up and once they came out, they were in the house and asked for my groupon. Normally i'm able to read the groupon code to a vendor and that'd be ok...not for these guys! I offered to email or fax a copy to the office, but as luck would have it, no one was there, not even the receptionist. So despite being in the house, they left and had me reschedule. The company I've used in the past charged me $250.00, so I figured this would save me a little money. The offer said up to 1,100 sq ft of tile and grout cleaning, plus sealing. This is exactly what I had done from the previous company, and I have about 1,000 sq ft of tile, so it seemed perfect! When the owner of the company and his employee came over this morning for my appointment, I could tell the minute he walked in, he was up to something. He walked in and started looking at the completely tiled downstairs. Everything appeared normal until he got to the walkway between the living room and kitchen. This is where you can see the dirt on the tile because I had previously been mopping pretty hard and pulled up the dirt in certain areas before I realized I was just going to need to hire someone to clean this. It was too much work with a mop, but certainly not too much for steam cleaners right? Wrong, according to the owner of this company. I knew right away he was trying to up-sell me because he was stumbling over his words and couldn't look me in the eye. At one point, he even asked me if I had used Mop and Glo? I'm thinking, "uh yeah, who hasn't?" As if somehow Mop and Glo was going to require an extra machine to get the dirt off of my floor! Does he think people are stupid?! Not to mention, the first company I spoke of who charged me $250.00, cleaned my tile right after I had just closed on my house. It was a foreclosure and the floors were much filthier, yet no problem for them. Anyways, while he was trying to muster up this elaborate story about how he was going to have to come back another day with much more extensive equipment (even though I had been waiting for this appointment nearly 2 weeks), I just simply started asking a couple questions. As soon as he could tell I wasn't a moron, he turned to his partner and said, "c'mon let's go, he's not listening." At that point, I was actually shocked. I was expecting a better salesman than that. It's one thing to try and and screw me with up-charges, but to give up and bail on the job you've been hired to do that quick, now that surprised me. I told him to hang on, and that I just wanted to ask a few questions. He became extremely rude right to my face, and said he was just trying to 'help' me. I told him what previous cleaners had done, etc...basically just trying to wrap my head around this extra $100.00 he was trying to get out of me. He raised his voice and got ruder and ruder with me. I finally had enough, and told him he should leave. I then asked how I was supposed to get my $185.00 back that I had pre-paid? His response was, "call BuyWithMe.com. I'd rather them refund your money than have to do this job." I couldn't believe my ears, and neither could my girlfriend sitting in the other room! Needless to say, I got my money back through BuyWithMe.com, and then scheduled an appointment with the company I had used previously. I explained to him what I had been through, and what my floors looked like currently. I asked if I should expect any surprises next Monday when he comes over? He said, "no, it'll be 250.00. No up-charges." That's how a real company operates. Anyone giving this company a good review didn't really experience them for what they are! Either their job was point and click simple or they let these guys con them into whatever 'extra they needed done' based on their 'expertise.'
