Lack of efficient operations and customer service. My car had a few recalls so I made an appointment 2 weeks before I brought the car in. After holding my car for a few days, I was told that they did not have all of the parts so I would have to come back. 1. They should have made sure that they had all of the parts prior to my arrival or give me thr choice to reschedule. 2. I asked them to wash the outside of my car, they said they won't if its raining (it would still take the dirt off) 3. Due to the rain, they left muddy shoe prints all over my interior, even the carpet area. I asked if they could clean the inside and they said, you didnt purchase the car from us so we don't clean the interior. I will NEVER spend money here ever again for service or to purchase a vehicle. While I did have issues with the servicing my 2020 Silverado and my wife's Blazer here, that wasn't the worst of it. A few months back, I was looking to sell my 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and get something a bit newer and less exotic, so I stopped by Valmark to purchase one of their Corvettes. The young man I worked with was nice enough but how I was treated was completely unacceptable. I can understand they don't often get exotics as a trade-in but how they treated me, and my car was way out of line. Since they couldn't seem to figure out what my car was worth (not that complicated), they called in some guy to look at it. He never came in or spoke to me. He just opened my car and climbed in like he was evaluating an old Malibu without permission. Nearly 2 hours later, they offered me $83k for my Lambo with only 29k miles on it. Needless to say, I stormed out. If this is how I was treated, I can only imagine how badly they rip off others on their trades. In the end I did sell the car for $125k through Lamborghini of San Antonio and bought a C63 AMG. read more

On top of that, JB originally told me the repair would take just three hours, but now, DAYS later, my car is still being held hostage because they refuse to release it until they get payment from my warranty company. This place is horrible. I dropped off my wife's Camaro for 2 things and Kody from the service department ended up sending me a list of over 9 things that he said needed to be done. One of the two things that I requested wasn't even on the list. The quote ended up being over $4,500. You can see they wanted to charge me $332 for battery cables when I can buy those on Amazon for less than $20. They wanted to charge me $291 for "fuel injection service" when we know that entails adding a bottle of fuel injector cleaning fluid which you can buy at autozone for less than $20. So I refused their service and they ended up charging me over $400.00 for Diagnostics when the original quote was $187. Kody told me if I got the service done there that they could deduct a little bit of the diagnostics from the total charge. Lies, price gouging, deception. This is what you'll get going to Valmark service department. Notice all the positive reviews are just from people with a couple of online posts. This is staged. Go to other sites like YELP and you can see the truth. Valmark service department needs to be avoided at all costs. They care more about charging for a lot of stuff and making money than actually listening to the costumer and doing what the customer requests. If I could give Valmark Chevrolet zero stars I would. I took my 2017 Colorado in to check a vibration in my steering wheel, previously said to be a tire issue (i just moved from Alaska and didn't have time to get the issue fixed before I left). The list of repairs I got was ridiculous and the estimate was over $16,000! Kody stated my vehicle needed a new transmission, which was insane because I had a new tranny installed just over a year ago. The new transmission was under warranty so I got him the paperwork so it could be replaced and he would not respond to any of my calls, emails or texts. He finally responded when I told him I felt his repair list was false, but that was at the end of August and I haven't heard a peep from him since then. I then took my vehicle to a different Chevy dealership to get a second opinion and not one of the repairs matched up with the outlandish list I received from Valmark. I do not recommend this place whatsoever! I was experiencing issues with my turbo then happened to see my car had gotten recalled on it, so I had no choice but to take it into the dealership to fix these issues. I was told my specific car did not fall under the recall, however it did fall under a special policy on the warranty. My service advisor was Steven Ramirez and on numerous occasions I was told as long as it was the turbo, after diagnostic testing was done, then it would be covered completely under warranty, FREE OF CHARGE. I had some other issues arise with the diagnosis that I decided not to take care of at the moment. Communication immediately decreased after declining additional services and when I asked further questions on the turbo, I was told on multiple occasions "I don't know" with no initiative to seek answers from anyone on Stevens' end. After being in the shop for 3 days, I finally received an update that the turbo had been ordered, however additional parts needed to be ordered to complete the service. Steven also told me that he was "advised" they would need to completely replace the oil and coolant lines on the turbo because they "typically tend to break and crumble during replacement so they tend to replace them and it did not fall under the warranty so it would be at my expense. They actually would not replace the turbo without doing the lines as well. " Not once was this mentioned to me at any point until it was getting closer to the time they were going to start working on my car. He then proceeded to not know the prices of these lines but would get back to me in the morning. I then sought out advice from other dealerships and a technician from my auto shop where they confirmed that was false. They had replaced multiple turbos' before without needing to replace those lines; mind you these lines are METAL, extremely difficult to break. At this point I had no trust in this dealership and just wanted my car back. I showed up this morning to pick up my car and after asking why were the turbo lines never mentioned at any point, when I asked numerous times if the turbo would be covered completely. Steven responds with "That was on me, this is my first time dealing with a turbo." They released my car back to me in worse condition; a shield on the bottom of my car on the right side was left unhooked so you could hear it dragging while I drove and the hook it went on was broken off so I was forced to cut that piece off. ValMark Chevrolet, I hope you don't further try taking advantage of people in the future and hire more compassionate advisers. If a*holes could fly, Valmark Chevy would be an airport. My wife called to make an appointment for our truck to get an oil change. She spoke with a young man named James, and James said to drop our truck off at 7am and it would be a couple hours. Since she takes our children to school, 7am did not work. James then informed her that she could drop the truck off at 9am, and she might have the truck back at 5pm that day. My wife told James that she picks our children up and that 5pm did not work, and asked what the other options were. To which he said in a smart ass tone, "bring it in at 7." With 7am not being an option, we dropped it off with James at 9am, and rearranged our whole day. Rescheduling volunteer work to cater to James, and his smart ass mouth. The wife arrived at the dealer, checked in our pavement princess, and was told by James that he wanted to keep our car all day. Said our car was within the window of the power train warranty expiring, so James said he wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with our car so GM would fix it free of charge. James obviously was not too bright, as the warranty expired 20,000 miles ago. James sent a text a few hours later and tried to suggest more services (a lot of BS "fluid flushes", "injector cleaners", wiper blades, and filters that were overpriced that I could change myself..) I previously have worked in the automotive field, so I politely declined the services knowing this was unnecessary fluff. I returned to the dealer to buy some parts for my Camaro - unrelated to the oil change. Realizing my wife forgot to add the state inspection, I approached the service counter. I had to wait a minute, but a nice gentleman, Steve, said he would add the state inspection to my bill. I sent Steve my insurance card and was walking out the door. James got off the phone and Steve told James I wanted a state inspection. I walked down to James, stated I needed a state inspection, to which he informed me "that will not pass inspection with those wiper blades." Knowing James was lying through his teeth, I said I would take my car elsewhere to get an inspection. Jackass James then said my car was ready, and "had been ready." I guess being an a*hole with other customers takes up a lot of time, and a 30 second phone call to let me know my car was ready, was too much to ask. Not to mention convenient so I could have brought my wife to pick it up. How did I know James was lying through his teeth? I'm glad you asked. A few months back I had bought those windshield wipers and my truck showed obvious signs that filters had not been checked that "needed replacement." Nice try - James. Homey don't play that. I don't either. I was born in the dark, but it was not last night. Get my drift Tonto? I picked our truck up, drove right down the street to another state inspection station and got my truck inspected. The nice gentleman let me stay in my car, took my money, and sent me on my way in less than 10 minutes. And yes..... he checked my windshield wipers. One might also say that this review is unfair based on one bad experience. To that I would say no, this is not the first time. It started when I bought my truck there years ago - and they would not honor my GM Card Earnings; one time them forgetting about a scheduled oil change appointment (which Justin the service manager made right by giving a free oil change); and them treating me like a peasant every other time I call and want an oil change. Every time I call needing service, they act put out, and are never committed to customer service. This place is a revolving door for a*hole service writers - Steve being the exception - you never see the same service team there twice. Well, Jackass James, I will not be strong armed for $44 wiper blades and you will not have to worry about being inconvenienced anymore by me or my money. In the market for a Heavy Duty pickup, ValMark had a couple I wanted to test drive. Salesman Donald was very polite, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I already had an offer from another dealership that matched the KBB trade-in estimate on my vehicle. I told Donald I wouldn't take less than the previous offer and KBB valuation. He took it to his manager. The offer was $2K less. I explained that I was serious and the previous offer was fair and firm. The offer came back $1K less. I walked out. Backing out of the parking space to leave, Donald's trainee stopped me in the lot and said they would match the previous offer. I thought this was disingenuous and greedy. I don't appreciate those tactics. We left and said we would consider the offer. I listed my vehicle on NextDoor (actually the wife did) and sold it the next day for $4K more than the previous offer. I called Donald back and said I would buy the truck but would hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. I completely understand that they have to make money and with the prices of vehicles and the demand, I have no doubt they will; however, don't disrespect your customers or underestimate word of mouth. One star for correcting my issue quickly and having good communication. My Suburban was blowing hot air and I knew this part was covered under warranty, as Valmark repaired the same issue 3 years ago. I took it in and received a text the next day that the warranty only covered $185/hr in labor and they charged $215/hr. This would leave me with an additional $200 in labor costs that were not covered. When we called the warranty through our bank, they stated that Valmark has the option to negotiate coverage and did so in July, to $185. Apparently after they set their rate with insurance, they raised their rates and made the difference the customer's problem. A covered warranty repair, which should have cost me $100 (plus a $90 part that was needed but not covered) - cost me $400 due to labor. We would have gone somewhere else, but after paying their $189 diagnostic fee, it wouldn't have been worth the trouble or time. I don't know about you.. but I didn't consider asking what their labor charge was before hand on a covered warranty repair. From now on I will. Here's your warning! read more

Worst service ever. I have taken my car in a few times since buying it at Valmark. My experience has been terrible every time, and the charge is outrageous. I always leave feeling like I have just been ripped off. They wanted to charge me $680 to fix my window because it would not roll up or down. Beware of this dealership! On November 22, 2024, I took my daughter's 2014 Chevrolet Cruze to the Valmark Chevrolet located at 725 I-35, New Braunfels, TX 78130, to have an oil leak looked at. They quoted me at over $5000 in repairs for a gasket leak and replaced other components they stated needed to be done. Less than 30 days later, the car was leaking again from the SAME spot. I took it back, and they said I needed to replace another component related to what they just worked on because it was warped. They tried to charge me another $450 plus dollars. I told them that was unacceptable, and they eventually ended up replacing it "free of charge". Less than 30 days later, the car is still leaking oil in the EXACT SAME SPOT! I returned the car a third time and am now being told the car needs an additional $5000 in repairs. I asked why this wasn't addressed before and what was done in the first place, as the issue was never resolved. The manager, Kendra Pena, would go on to explain they would not issue a refund or fix the oil leak that was never fixed. I requested her manager, Justin Kelley, to contact us to discuss the situation further. I never heard from Justin, and I called and left a message for the General Manager Mark Stevenson and have not received a call back. My concern here is that I am being gouged for money. The new diagnosis makes absolutely no sense as, based on what they are saying, this should have been diagnosed easily from the beginning, and the original $5000 in repairs was not what caused the car to leak. I not only paid for a service that was not rendered, but it was misdiagnosed, and they still charged me for it and refuse to correct the issue or give me my money back. read more

Rude, condescending, and just ick and this wasn't our first experience with them and this behavior. Todays issue was I made an appt for 8am oil change...an APPOINTMENT. I rushed my kids out of the house and when I arrived they said ok would you like our shuttle to drop you off the car will be ready at the end of the day He continued to basically say it was my fault because I made the appt online. I had an appointment scheduled to have diagnostic done on my 3500 gmc because I had a orange engine light on. They set up the appointment for 5:00 pm on a Tuesday. I went there thinking they were going to look at it and tell me what it was. They said no I had to leave it with them. So they had me set up an appointment to drop it off... let that sink in for a moment. I gave them my warranty info and then I called for a ride. Radio silence the next day. The following day I had my wife check the status on the truck they said they just dispatched it to a tech that morning. She said oh so you should know something by this afternoon and he said oh it could be today or tomorrow. She said don't you hook it up to the computer his reply was oh it's not that easy. Anyways the Nox sensors are bad and need to be replaced which was covered by warranty. But the one thing not covered is the regen exhaust filter which is needed for the repair. He stated it's at 85% and it cost $200. What that means is the Nox sensor are bad so the engine won't regen. To manually regen it you hook the diagnostics computer that they charge you $200 to diagnose it with and hit another button called manual regen. Let that sink in... so I declined to have them do the manual regen. So they verified my coverage of my bumper to bumper warranty and have received confirmation they are going to cover the repair. Meanwhile The truck is completed work is done but will not let me pick up my truck until they are paid by the warranty company... how is that possible it should be I pay for the deductible and the oil change service and they work it out with the warranty company. Since when does the customer get put out another day of not getting their vehicle? Wild to me... so to say the least my overall experience with this Valmark Chevy is very pathetic. read more

Best dealership experience!! I had an unfortunate situation with my radiator hose last Saturday. My 3 kids kids and I left home a little later than anticipated and stopped for breakfast and gas as we we're supposed to be going fishing in the country side that morning. As we were about to pass Valmark Chevrolet, my car started overheating to the max level. I pulled in a parking spot at the dealership, went to the service area to ask for help. My car is a Dodge Journey. What happened next was unbelievable. Kendra from the service side brought a service employee out ready to pour coolant and JD a really well dressed gentleman came out prior to help me pop the hood. The radiator hose was totally disconnected and there was coolant all over the engine. We were invited to sit in the lobby and there was an empty popcorn machine there. Emily, their front desk staff member started making popcorn just for the kids to eat. Kendra took my info an within a very reasonable time she came back and told me the cost. I told her that while it was pricey my kids safety was more important to me that day. In less than 2 hours, my car was fixed but the story gets better! For months I had a busted side mirror so I've been using shoe strings to hold the mirror in place (don't judge me lol). Anyway as we were driving off the kids shouted "mommy they fixed the mirror!!" I know my son was happy he didn't have to manually fix it for me anymore. I received a call from Valmark a couple days after and I shared glowing feedback about this dealership. I told them dealerships gets a bad rapport quite often, but that day I was inspired to consider purchasing my next vehicle from Valmark Chevrolet. I have a 2016 GMC Sierra that is not starting the first time the key is turned. I visited the dealership and explained the issue. JB tried to sell me on several things that while not bad for service in general wouldn't have fixed the issue. (fuel treatment for ex) I left the vehicle for the diagnostic service which was supposed to take two hours and requested the starter be replaced. A full day later, I had heard nothing so I texted the contact info for JB asking for an update/progress. I get a complex text back claiming they've found 7 severe issues. I call the number on the contact to discuss what they've found and get voicemail. I wait an hour, no return call. I call the service desk directly, JB's on the phone with someone else. I get a promise that he'll call me as soon as he's done. Another hour passes. I get a ride to the dealership and explain that since they can't return calls, I'm there to settle up and pick up my vehicle. Ol JB is there and does the processing of the paperwork. He doesn't give me the paperwork regarding the full diagnostic despite the fact I paid $195 for the diagnostic. Then he's snarky about the truck still having the issue and he has a tow truck number handy should I need it and pick and pull may be in my close future. I'm not the guy to reward terrible service with more business, I'll find another dealer to make the necessary repairs. I'll never use this dealership again. read more

From the moment I called with an issue, until I drove off the parking lot, the ValMark service department (Megan, in particular) treated me like royalty - or at least the CEO of Chevrolet! She called me with every update from diagnoses to drive off, and kept me informed of the progress and anticipated completion time - (and they finished a day early!) When JB brought my car around, he even said, "Your chariot awaits!" I have loved this High Country Traverse since the first test drive, and cannot imagine royalty riding in anything more enjoyable! This is a review of the service department only. I made an appointment at a GMC dealer in the area for 11:00am for an oil change and 7500 mile service. I arrived at 10:20. The service advisor was very nice and said it would be about an hour, maybe a little longer since they were abnormally busy. I let him know that I would be waiting on site. At about 11:45, I went to check on the progress and the truck hadn't even been taken in. I contacted the service advisor, who said it would be another hour, at least. I got my keys and left. After the bad experience, I scheduled an appointment at Valmark Chevrolet for the next morning. Arrived a little early. Super nice service advisor. They got my truck in immediately. Truck was done and washed in 55 min. I'll definitely recommend Valmark and use them in the future. read more

We paid a deposit for a Tahoe listed as "In Transit." I hoped it might arrive in a week or so, but took 3mo! Most of that time, it was at a distribution center, just a few hours away. During that time, the dealership never gave proactive updates. I had to ask the salesperson every week for an update - which often got vague responses. The dealership didn't seemed to try very hard to get the Tahoe. When we threatened to go elsewhere, they finally sent someone to get the Tahoe. Had my 2008 Corvette towed into this dealership as my gear shift was locked in park and it was also leaking power steering fluid. They had my car for eight days before anyone looked at it. When they did, they told me that they had to charge me for a diagnostic to find the problems. They diagnosed the problems, and even though I was not asking for this, they also diagnosed that I must need a GM transmission filter service and also a fuel injection service. Why? Because the Carfax doesn't show these on the record for this vehicle!! Seriously?? Other reviews have mentioned that they try to add other services! Just because Carfax doesn't show that these have been done?? BTW, the fuel injectors were serviced previously. Then the bill for the other items that I actually came in for - Gear shift cable needs to be replaced - $1318.66 and Power Steering high pressure hose need to be replaced - $1283.61. I got a referral from a friend to an ASE master technician who worked at a Chevrolet dealership (different one) for 20 years, who specializes in Corvette repair - his quotes - $618.17 and $712.45!!! I decided to have it towed to the other shop. Valmark then charges me for two diagnostic fees - one for the gear shift cable $189.95 and one for the power steering $189.95! If that isn't bad enough, they slap me with extra charges for paying with a credit card!! I paid it and then visited the GM, whose only remark was that it will be cheaper when you go to a "fly by night" mechanic!! Wow! Great service!! This "fly by night" mechanic was trained to ASE master mechanic by Chevrolet and worked there for 20 years!! My bet is that's more experience that the "fly by night" mechanics at Valmark! I bought my 2020 Silverado from Valmark in 2019. Ever since that December day anything with that dealership has been terrible. I have 30 free oil changes I had to fight for when I bought the truck. The only reason I come back here is to use those oil changes. Each oil change and I have done 3 so far have been below standard. 1. They left the oil cap off after it was finished one time. 2. They don't top of the washer fluid 3. I mark the tires before going in and the tires are never rotated. They don't ask for the tire locks, the lug nuts show no signs of tools touching them. But they mark the sheet that it was done. 4. Schedule appointments online and get to the dealership and told to call not use the online system 5. Schedule the next time online and then I called to confirm and got the text message it was confirmed and get to the dealership and its not confirmed. 6. Then they call to ask to schedule an appointment because it looks like it might be time for an oil change.....REALLY! I JUST SCHEDULED ONE A FEW DAYS AGO! Sorry I have to go I can't spend all day writing everything they have done or lack of. Just know I will not buy from this place again. Should've done my research first on the small dealerships here. Lesson learned. read more

Service Department customers BEWARE. Took in 2020 Silverado for repair on service light since we received in a letter from Chevrolet on bulletin for glow plug. Dealer stated vehicle had multiple codes on top of glow plug. They would have to run a diagnostic check for each code and if power train warranty covered repairs they would wave diagnostic fee $189. Glow plug code was covered. Other 2 codes they had to perform a smoke test for a leak which would have been covered if there was a leak but dealer couldn't find. Dealer then reset the codes and charged for 2hrs of diagnostics testing $189x2 plus tax=$416. Spoke with Service Mgr Kendra to ask why am I still being charged for just resetting an engine light. She said we had to charge for the labor that we put into the job. I fell right into this dealer strategy trap. Bottom line customers, do not fall for this strategy. Go get a cheaper diagnosis somewhere else. And if item is covered under warranty then take to a dealer. read more
