I got to know Matt as he was next door to American Fitness on Industrial Drive. I asked him if he knew a good motorcycle mechanic and he said bring it in and he would get it running and even sel it for me. , which I did probably 4-6 years ago. I just had 2 brand new tires put on but Woods would not work on it as it was more than 10 years old. I bought the part needed for repair and later a battery. He did get it running but let it sit for quite some time. He did get the rust off the carburetor. The alunimum parts also oxidized to some extent including the forks. Otherwise, it was in great shape with barely over 5,000 miles on it. I would stop by periodically to check on it but he only said he got one very low-ball offer. Now he's at their current location. I saw it in a bay with 2 radiators leaning up against it and the front tire was flat. He let it sit there with gas in the tank and now that has rusted. What! A master mechanic let this happen? They worked on it, got it running again but the rust kept clogging the carburetor. He said just sell it like it is. Sorry, my ethics would not let me do that. He did absolutely nothing about the rust and I took him 3 products that should have removed the rust. Wonder if an attempt was ever made? I went by there to check on the rust removal in June. Matt avoided me but one of his employees allowed me to see the bike as I wanted to make sure the 2nd battery was disconnected and the tires had air in them. He took me outside and there is was being destroyed by the sun and weather. Some of the paint had faded and now everything has tarnished. I picked it up 2 days later. I told him I had it sold 2-3 years ago. Not a big money maker for him so I suffered but not as much as my bike did. MKT automotive looks more like a junk yard than a repair shop. Look! read more

We were picking up a truck from my parents in Texas. The squirrels had made a nest in the engine and my father had a Mechanic supposedly fix all the wiring. When we arrived in Texas, my husband got in the truck and noticed the gas gage wasn't working and the interior lights were flickering when turning on the AC. We were pretty put out that the truck wasn't working since it had just been returned as "working great" by a mechanic. We met Matt through a friend the first weekend we were here and he seemed SO knowledgeable while discussing our situation with him, even stating that it sounded like a grounding issue. The truck was with another mechanic the entire two weeks we were visiting only to get a call that the ECM needed to be replaced since replacing the instrument panel (another $500) didn't fix the problem. After long debate with my father about his mechanic, we finally put our foot down and called Matt. We were very upset and financially pained over this. We got to Matt's shop and within 2 minutes, Matt found the problem and fixed it. It was a grounding issue just as he had stated before he even saw the vehicle. He squeezed us into his schedule last minute because we needed to leave town and we were petrified to drive this truck across country. He kept the truck to "look it over" and to ensure we were safe to drive the long distance. When we went to get it, he barely charged us for it. My dads mechanic had all kinds of different "certifications". As a Business Owner myself, knowledge comes from experience not just a "piece of paper". A honest and KNOWLEDGABLE mechanic is hard to find, but you can stop looking now because Matt has it all AND he's an extremely honest person. He could have charged us hundreds as the other guy did to us, but chose not to. My entire family has already asked for Matts number. I will forever take my car to MKT Garage for any issues I have with my car! BEST PLACE to go by far!!! I got my car towed to Frank's Automotive because it was one of AAAs recommended places... worst decision ever... long story short, got quoted $1800 by them to replace the coolant stand pipe and thermostat, and get a coolant flush...... decided to get a second opinion and take it to MKT Garage... BEST decision ever!! They fixed my car completely by just adding some more coolant, because it was low!!! I asked them to change my oil since it was already there. Ended up being a total of $242 for the diagnostic, topping off my coolant, doing a pressure test to make sure there were no leaks, and changing my oil! They are super chill, and real. Will not try to rip you off or fix things that don't need fixing. Definitely will recommend MKT garage to everyone and anyone! read more

Their diagnosis of the problem turned out to be more exact and less expensive than the other mechanic I previously took the truck to. Knowledgeable: The owner seemed to be very knowledgeable of common issues with certain vehicles. Honest: They fixed only the issues that needed fixing. Previously I had tried another national chain repair shop that could not correctly diagnose or even correctly repair my Jeep. So I reached out to the Local community area Jeep owners and was told about MKT Garage in New Braunfels,TX. I called and initially spoke with Mike who took time to listen to my repair needs and gave me confidence in selecting this shop to fix my Jeep. I brought my vehicle in and met Matt who sat down with me to listen to my needs and build a rapport. I left my Jeep with them and as busy as they kept me constantly informed of the repair needs and cost as they progressed on repairing my Jeep. They finished my repair needs quickly and at a very fair cost and everyone there was friendly and attentive. Now I will only take my Jeep to MKT Garage for any future repair needs. If I could give this place NO stars I would. My family and I have had THE WORST experience here. Not only have they had my Jeep for over a month but they don't even call to keep me updated when it would possibly be done. I have had to call almost every single day and yet still they wouldn't answer. When I finally got ahold of them they told me I was in the wrong and that they shouldn't have to call me every week to let them know. They have also misdiagnosed my Jeep twice. Finally decided to come pick it up after all this bullshit they have put me through and come to find out it's because the guy who was working on it decided he was going on vacation. We drove from out of town yesterday, September 19th (from the Houston area - about 3 hours and 15 mins) and on the way, my husband's truck started making a noise. We brought the truck (a Chevrolet 2500 Silverado HD Duramax) to a mechanic shop that diagnosed the issue as being a transfer case issue, free of charge. We brought the truck to the closest transmission shop, MKT, and from the second we walked inside, we felt like they didn't want to work. They looked at us and jokingly said, "No, it's Friday, we aren't working" which was funny, but we really did have an issue. We told them that another mechanic diagnosed a transfer case issue and asked how long it would take to fix it and they laughed and said that it wouldn't be until sometime later in the week (4-7 days) to fix because they would have to get the part from Wisconsin. The owner was courteous enough to take the truck for a drive to see if it was in fact a transfer case issue. Yep, when we got back, he agreed that that was the issue. We left for lunch so they could take a deeper look at it. They called us while at lunch with a quote of $3,480 to fix the issue. After calling around to multiple places, we were told that was not a fair price, so we told them we would come pick the truck up. We get there and they inform us that the transfer case fluids were low and charged us $98 to diagnose what we already knew and didn't offer to top the fluid off for an additional charge. We paid $98 to MKT to diagnose something that a mechanic down the road diagnosed first for free. We drove the truck down the road to Garland's in New Braunfels and they are charging us $2500 to fix the truck and the part is coming from a local Chevrolet dealership and will be ready Monday, in 3 days. And when Garland's examined it, they told us that the fill plug was left on the cross members, meaning they left the plug off the transfer casing, allowing anything to get in there. Garland's couldn't believe MKT charged us $100 to diagnose what we already knew and not offer to fill the truck with fluid. DO NOT waste your time and money at MKT. read more

Pretty insane, i was driving through from Austin to NB and a spark plug went out causing my vehicle to shake, giggle and not go pass 30mph. Turns out all 4 spark plugs and Coil needed replacing. it was a Sunday, raining and I still needed to drive back to Austin for work. Mike had all the parts and literally fixed this all up in less than 45 minutes. This could have been a day event, if I was back in Austin with all the terrible traffic and construction going on, having to deal with coordinating my time, prolly would have to borrow a friends car. Thank goodness I didnt have to. Bit pricey, but I got what i paid for, for the tremendous service under urgent circumstances, and I was able to get all my personal and work tasks knocked out with out car issues taking my whole day read more

My sister's car broke down at about 8pm on a Saturday night in New Braunfels. This was the only repair shop that said they were currently open. I called Matt and explained the situation and that it seemed like an alternator issue on an older Hyundai SantaFe. He asked a few questions and said he could get the part and have his "on call" tech (Jason) meet us at the shop to get it fixed that night! These guys are amazing, Jason and Matt met us up at the shop and fixed the car right at a fair price for after-hours garage work.
