Service Department customers BEWARE. Took in 2020 Silverado for repair on service light since we received in a letter from Chevrolet on bulletin for glow plug. Dealer stated vehicle had multiple codes on top of glow plug. They would have to run a diagnostic check for each code and if power train warranty covered repairs they would wave diagnostic fee $189. Glow plug code was covered. Other 2 codes they had to perform a smoke test for a leak which would have been covered if there was a leak but dealer couldn't find. Dealer then reset the codes and charged for 2hrs of diagnostics testing $189x2 plus tax=$416. Spoke with Service Mgr Kendra to ask why am I still being charged for just resetting an engine light. She said we had to charge for the labor that we put into the job. I fell right into this dealer strategy trap. Bottom line customers, do not fall for this strategy. Go get a cheaper diagnosis somewhere else. And if item is covered under warranty then take to a dealer. read more

ATTENTION TAHOE 2021 !!Don't think about even buying a car here , their service is horrible , and no one care about anything !!! I bought a new Tahoe 2021 and on the 4 month it fail 2 times with a problem in the engine , leave me with my 3 kiddos in the middle of i35 with the car running at 35 to get to the service counter and a guy told me to call back on Tuesday and they will check if the can help , they didn't offer me a ride or a loner nothing the car was smoking everywhere and I got to drive that car with the kiddos terrified because we didn't have anyone else to help us !!! I took it back and they inform me that my car has a problem On the engine a 0 miles new car that I just bought for me and my kiddos , no one help me to change it Ofcourse I did not feel secure any more to drive my kids in that car being a single mom a paying lots of money on that expensive car to be secure with them is nothing any more !!! It fail again on the first week the give me back the car same thing everyone on that dealership wash their hands ! Because that's what they are good for washing their hands and once again they give me the car back .... So here I am after almost 6 month and my not even a year Tahoe leave me in San Antonio on the pick up line of my kids school full smoke everywhere with another issue on the engine and once again no one care they don't want to change my car or help Me to do something ..... so PLEASE PLEASE if you are thinking on Buying a car here and u are like me a single Mom worry about the safety of your kiddos don't do it !!!! I bought a used car from this dealership, and used Damon as my sales person. He seemed moderately knowledgeable, but nothing to keep my business. After I graduated from Texas State University, I found a car online that fit my needs and went in with high hopes. The car buying process was as to be expected, but I was naive to how slimy car dealers were. When buying my car, and sitting down with financing, it was explained to me that if I got the extra coverage on my car, they would take care of any issues I had if I brought it back to the dealership. Within two weeks, my check engine light came on. They told me that they would not be able to help me until 30 days after the purchase date in order for the paperwork to be completed. When I called, frustrated, they explained that I should have read my contract closer. I understand that I was ignorant, but the refusal to help at all was noteworthy. A few months later, I got a flat tire. As I went to change my tire, I then saw that I had no spare tire. I called and the used car sales manager, Allen, was less than helpful. He noted again that I should have read closer on the car sticker and contract. I have no positive review for this dealership. If you are a young person, or the parent of a young person buying a car for the first time, do not send them to ValMark Chevy in New Braunfels. You will be under false pretenses of your coverage, and they will not help you when you need it. They do not look to keep your business, they only want to make money off of people who don't know better for themselves. Do not buy from this dealership. read more

RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEALER. I took my truck in for an oil change on a scheduled appointment. I sat in the waiting room for two hours. This is not the first time an oil change has taken two hours when I had an appointment. They knew I was waiting. My cabin air filter needed to be changed. Knowing that I was in the waiting room waiting on my vehicle they could've easily come in there and asked. But instead they texted my wife's phone, which while she is at work, she does not answer. So I got to the service consultant to pay and I noticed on my bill that there was a line that said customer declined recommended repairs. That was total bullshit. I questioned him and his excuse was sorry it's been busy here today. My appt was at 7:30. Arrived at 7:10. Didn't get busy till about 8:15. Two hours for an oil change is ridiculous especially when you have an appointment. Two days after I bought this truck someone ran a red light and hit me. Val Mark did the repairs. A new bumper was put on the truck. It had to be taken back three times because the bumper was peeling. As you can see there seems to be constantly poor service with Val Mark Chevrolet. read more

I'm a college student and I lived in new braunfels for most of my life so naturally I come to NB to get my car serviced. I've been taking my car to Valmark since I got it in 2012 (where I also bought it) and they have been the most accommodating and friendly sales and service people of any establishment ever. The first time I came in by myself, I honestly expected to be taken advantage of because I was young and uninformed, but every employee I came into contact with was kind and explained everything to me. I purchased a certified used 2011 Buick Enclave in 2014. Being new to New Braunfels, and in doing some research, Valmark came up as highly rated so I chose them to do any repairs and service for my SUV. The receptionist was very nice and transferred me directly to the service department when I made my initial call. I was assigned to Tom Williams, a super nice, personable, and obviously caring man. Staff gets 5 stars. I made an appointment for Friday, 12/18/15, to have the following services done on my Enclave: recall (trunk liftgate), oil change, front tires reading low, steering wheel made a wire-on-wire sound, middle seat back bench seat belt not working, driver side captain's chair middle row seat belt buckle release sticking, driver side daytime running lamp burned out, AC button stickers worn off, and I wanted new floor mats. I was on time for my appointment at 10 a.m. that morning and it was a complete zoo in the service department. They had someone quit the week before and someone else was hospitalized. I was very patient and understanding but was there nearly 20 minutes to get checked in. I told Tom that I had a ride and could be without my car for several days, so if they needed to bump me to next week, that was fine. He assured me that my car would be done that day. I didn't hear from Tom again until Monday afternoon, 12/21/25, where he told me that the wire-on-wire sound was my rack and pinion steering unit. He was still checking on the seat belts but felt that he could get everything covered under my certified warranty except the AC button stickers and the daytime running lamp. Awesome! I was very happy. He called me again that evening to let me know the oil change was done, they had rotated and filled up the tires, and they had completed the rack and pinion repair. They were going to take care of the seat belts the next day. Tom called me again Tuesday evening, 12/22/15, to let me know that the captain's chair seat belt was fixed but they were waiting on the back bench seat belt kit to arrive. They were expecting it the next day. Tom called twice on Wednesday, 12/23/15, to let me know that the kit had not arrived and wondered if I wanted my car back before Christmas. We were planning on some travel that weekend, so I arranged to pick it up before they closed since they were not open the next day on Christmas Eve. I only had about 2-hours notice so I did have to scramble a little to pick up my car. There was no charge for any of the work they had done, since it was all covered under the warranty, but there was still the back bench seat belt, the daytime running lamp, the button stickers, and the mats left to do. Tom told me he would call me when the seat belt kit arrived. I never did get a call back from him, so I called him on Friday, 1/15/16, to follow up. Yes, they had my seat belt kit in as well as the daytime running lamp, so I scheduled to bring my car in on Monday, 1/18/16, at 9 a.m. Tom told me it would be a very quick visit and that I could wait. I got there on time and asked if it would be a 20-minute wait or more like an hour, and he replied, more like an hour but we'll get you back right away. I'm an antsy person, I don't like sitting and waiting, so I decided to get some steps in for my Fitbit and walked the lot. I walked for 35 minutes (and got 5K steps in!), and my car sat and sat and sat and sat in the service bay. I finally walked back up and saw someone heading to my car to take it back, so I went inside to wait. Tom came out at 10:35 to let me know that my car was ready... but... get this... Only the seat belt was fixed. They didn't have any daytime running lamps in stock. If I wanted to wait ANOTHER hour, they could have someone go get one, and I could get it replaced. I was a little annoyed. I mean, this was my second visit in, I had already been waiting more than an hour and a half, and I even called ahead of time to make sure they had the part in stock. No I don't want to wait another hour or come back a third time. I can get this part at any auto parts store and that's what I'm going to do... and I'll get my mats there too. I am not certain I will return to Valmark for my future certified warranty repair and service needs. Tom was very nice, but he didn't follow up when he said he would and he didn't get everything done that he said he would and in the time he said. I understand that he cannot control what is in stock or how long something takes, which is why I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, but I think they are woefully understaffed and overcommitted. I am very disappointed in my experience because I came here based on the positive reviews from other sources. I find detailed reviews helpful, so I hope this helps others in deciding where to take their car for service. I still need a daytime running lamp, AC button stickers, and floor mats... a month after my initial service visit. read more

This is the second time I pay for an oil change where they are supposed to top off all the fluids. Well, the list is getting checked off but they are not doing the work. Windshield washer was completely empty but they said they did top it off. The list says they did a car wash, they did not, it rained yesterday and my car looks just as muddy. In fact, when I brought my car in there was no mud inside my car but they left my carpet all muddy when they returned the car to me. At this point it is safe to assume that nothing on that checklist they give you is getting done. You have some people like Andy who are really good and some like Jen Wilson who are really bad but I would say the people who work on your car don't care at all about your car. I will not be taking my car back to this place. This place is a SCAM. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE USED CARS FROM THIS DEALER. You will regret it. I know I do... I purchased a used vehicle from this dealer and when I drove it off the lot it started making a strange sound. After having it for two months the noise just became worse and worse so I took it in to their repair shop. They told me that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced among other repair issues and it would be greater than $1800 to repair it. I asked them if they would fix it since I had only had the car for two months and they said no. When I purchased the vehicle the carfax stated that it had been in an accident which I brought to their attention and the stated that it had been a minor fender bender and that there was no damage to the vehicle. The car was purchased for over $16000 and one would think that a person shouldn't have to put over $1800 dollars in a vehicle that they had just purchased two months prior. I'm just saying. Also, they charged me for overdue registration which is just crappy on their part, so technically I paid for last years registration when I didn't even own the vehicle and now the registration is up again. To reiterate...DO NOT buy vehicles from this dealer. They will do anything necessary to get you to sign the contract but once its signed they have no problem with shady business practices. The service department workers are rude, they look pissed when they have to do any work. One guy next to the guy was scratching his head and face like he was irritated that more people came in for service. Gee service department if it weren't for us customers giving you business you would have no job. Owners you need to bring in fake customers to check the attitudes of your employees out. I was going to get service done with your store but because they are so rude and irritated that anyone comes in I'm driving to San Antonio for better customer service. Dropped off vehicle to collision repair center after waiting a week or so for a drop off date. Was told the repair would take 2 days. 5 days later on a Friday I received a call saying it would not be ready until Monday. Monday came and there was no communication so I called. Was told the vehicle was still not ready and I would receive a phone call Tuesday morning to let me know if it was ready. Received voicemail Tuesday late morning saying the car was 'second in line for detailing.' Called back early afternoon to be sure car was ready, was told it was 'next in line for detailing' 5 hours later. Decided to drive in at that point to pick up. Inspected car, found repairs had not been completed. Associate seemed utterly confused in trying to explain what happened. Seemed to have no idea why the repairs weren't completed, yet tried to blame the insurance company for denying repair/replacement of parts. I then went to the service department manager and explained frustration. A different associate from the body shop came in and stated the replacement parts had been discovered elsewhere in the shop and had failed to be installed on the vehicle. Was then promised the vehicle would be ready no later than the following morning at 10:30. Wednesday morning came and went, no phone call or communication. Called first thing Thursday morning and asked if it was ready for pickup, was told yes. Went and picked up vehicle. All repairs seemed complete and the vehicle was restored. The tire pressure monitoring system error was gone (had requested the vehicle also be serviced under warranty while in the shop). Was then told I owed money to service department for repair of TPMS, which should not have been the case as the vehicle is a brand new Chevy under full factory warranty. Waited 20 minutes for the go ahead not to pay the service dept. balance. Departed dealership. The next day, the TPMS error message resurfaced, indicating the repair was not effective. read more

I recently started looking for a used vehicle to replace a car with a SUV. The used car sales had a nice Tahoe but it needed a few maintenance items. Per the black book the trade in for the vehicle was about 9k below what the dealership was asking. Per the sales rep, the manager said that's the price - no negotiations. I still though they would come down so I called in reference to my trade. Over the telephone, the estimate was 31k. When I arrived and they assessed my trade, the offer went to 26k. Even though the person assessing the vehicle was telling someone on the telephone it was a great car with nothing negative. I subsequently received much more for the trade at another dealership and got a better vehicle for less. I understand that dealers need to make money, but they can make it off someone else. And three weeks later, the vehicle is still on their lot. read more

Terrible experience purchasing a vehicle. Salesman was clueless. Apparently let go shortly after my purchase. I am military with personalized plates for a meritorious service medal which I requested to have transferred to my new vehicle. 30 days later I received brand new license plates and have spent the last day and a half driving to department of motor vehicles offices to return the plates and have the plates the salesman was supposed get transferred registered to my new vehicle. The financial guy straight up lied to me with the purchase agreement. I told him that I wanted to use Randolph brooks because I thought their interest rate was the lowest. He drew the purchase agreement up with, of course, GM As the financier. When I questioned him about this he told me that GM offered a better interest-rate at the time in Randolph Brooks. I left the dealership and three days later went to Randolph Brooks and found out the deal that I could've gotten with them was 1.5% less interest rate than the one he had found for me. I went into Valmark on a limb today, knowing eventually in the next 6-8 months I wanted to get a new car. I just wanted to strictly test drive, knowing that I couldn't afford a new car right now. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile by Chase. He made sure I was looking at the right car for me and didn't throw and bull crap my way. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He offered to follow up with me around Christmas (he gave me an exact date and time) to see where I was with the process, which I thought was awesome!! I fell in love with the car I test drove and pretty much had it set in stone that that's what I wanted. I started having issues with my Ignition. The key would not come out from time to time. I took it in within the warranty period. They told me it was fixed. Days later the issue starts up again. I took it back in and guess what, I no longer have warranty. I told Blake that I had brought it before for the same issue and he said " well sir it's something different now " . I paid them almost 500 bucks to fix it. They kept my truck for 24 hours. They called me and told me the truck was ready. I get in my truck drove home and guess what ! ? The key wouldn't come out of the ignition. I called Blake's line and left a voicemail and never heard back. They are a bunch of liars and thief's. I plan to report them to the better business Bureau. I have informed all my friends and family about this place and they all swore never to shop there. I plan to continue to spread the experience I had with them. I don't want anyone else wasting money or their time here with this Pathetic excuse for a dealership. You've been warned!!! Plenty of other dealerships in the area. Avoid this place !!!!! read more
